GRAY I like to ░░░░░░░░ that incrementalism has ruined ░░░░░░░░ dating life because I ░░░░░░░░ been on several dates ░░░░░░░░ where people have argued ░░░░░░░░ me not any ideological ░░░░░░░░ it per se but ░░░░░░░░ the pure merits of ░░░░░░░░ what I find myself ░░░░░░░░ in response is often ░░░░░░░░ booking some of the ░░░░░░░░ that I think make ░░░░░░░░ approach so powerful which ░░░░░░░░ to foreground the moral ░░░░░░░░ and to ask you ░░░░░░░░ if we say that ░░░░░░░░ Y in the it ░░░░░░░░ going to take so ░░░░░░░░ years of climate change ░░░░░░░░ a great example because ░░░░░░░░ ve not been told ░░░░░░░░ don t have but ░░░░░░░░ years right who who ░░░░░░░░ is hurt by by ░░░░░░░░ the can down the ░░░░░░░░ that s right because ░░░░░░░░ was a lot of ░░░░░░░░ in 20 16 about ░░░░░░░░ I m kind of ░░░░░░░░ you know you re ░░░░░░░░ and I even was ░░░░░░░░ to print to pursue ░░░░░░░░ of these big ticket ░░░░░░░░ and not a lot ░░░░░░░░ conversation about the privilege ░░░░░░░░ it takes to say ░░░░░░░░ will deal with this ░░░░░░░░ the next generation you ░░░░░░░░ so I I do ░░░░░░░░ to connect this back ░░░░░░░░ little bit more to ░░░░░░░░ issues involving race as ░░░░░░░░ I think that there ░░░░░░░░ a great deal of ░░░░░░░░ these programs are poll ░░░░░░░░ poll show overwhelmingly popular ░░░░░░░░ is this emergent narrative ░░░░░░░░ says can you deal ░░░░░░░░ universal programs are not ░░░░░░░░ diverse communities and that ░░░░░░░░ s a lot of ░░░░░░░░ but I think it ░░░░░░░░ understandable among certain day ░░░░░░░░ you know non white ░░░░░░░░ is that says well ░░░░░░░░ programs were floated before ░░░░░░░░ they did a lot ░░░░░░░░ do to fix a ░░░░░░░░ of people have a ░░░░░░░░ of people in America ░░░░░░░░ days systemically cut out ░░░░░░░░ yeah you know we ░░░░░░░░ able to take advantage ░░░░░░░░ them in the same ░░░░░░░░ and they have the ░░░░░░░░ of widening the wealth ░░░░░░░░ and and and and ░░░░░░░░ kinds of gaps so ░░░░░░░░ do we connect the ░░░░░░░░ it of these kind ░░░░░░░░ new deal programs to ░░░░░░░░ that feel like they ░░░░░░░░ been insufficiently Sir by ░░░░░░░░ in the past you ░░░░░░░░ and Ocasio Cortez That ░░░░░░░░ an excellent question because ░░░░░░░░ s it was one ░░░░░░░░ the founding questions with ░░░░░░░░ we started approaching add ░░░░░░░░ draft of the Green ░░░░░░░░ Deal resolution because one ░░░░░░░░ the things about history ░░░░░░░░ that it is often ░░░░░░░░ you know Martin Luther ░░░░░░░░ is cast as this ░░░░░░░░ angelic person that never ░░░░░░░░ anyone mad and just ░░░░░░░░ for civil rights and ░░░░░░░░ it and sad and ░░░░░░░░ were always just seen ░░░░░░░░ like this great powerful ░░░░░░░░ that nobody died for ░░░░░░░░ forty hour work week ░░░░░░░░ and the weekend And ░░░░░░░░ s a similar thing ░░░░░░░░ know the other way ░░░░░░░░ the new deal is ░░░░░░░░ we act as though ░░░░░░░░ new deal wasn t ░░░░░░░░ and the new deal ░░░░░░░░ an extremely economically racist ░░░░░░░░ that drew literal red ░░░░░░░░ around black and brown ░░░░░░░░ and and basically it ░░░░░░░░ in white America and ░░░░░░░░ it did was that ░░░░░░░░ allowed white Americans to ░░░░░░░░ access to home loans ░░░░░░░░ black and brown Americans ░░░░░░░░ not have access to ░░░░░░░░ them the largest form ░░░░░░░░ inter generational wealth which ░░░░░░░░ real estate and so ░░░░░░░░ is really it it ░░░░░░░░ accelerated many parts of ░░░░░░░░ already are horrific racial ░░░░░░░░ gap that continues to ░░░░░░░░ today so how do ░░░░░░░░ turn this around and ░░░░░░░░ we did with the ░░░░░░░░ new deal is this ░░░░░░░░ why the intersectional frontline ░░░░░░░░ aspect of the green ░░░░░░░░ deal is so important ░░░░░░░░ it allows indigenous communities ░░░░░░░░ lead black and brown ░░░░░░░░ to have a certain ░░░░░░░░ determination that has not ░░░░░░░░ in public policy I ░░░░░░░░ these communities before and ░░░░░░░░ one of the ways ░░░░░░░░ we do that is ░░░░░░░░ say we fix the ░░░░░░░░ the pipes in flint ░░░░░░░░ we clean the air ░░░░░░░░ The Bronx first we ░░░░░░░░ rebuild though the L ░░░░░░░░ grids implicitly call me ░░░░░░░░ finds we fully fund ░░░░░░░░ pensions of coal miners ░░░░░░░░ West Virginia at the ░░░░░░░░ time because and the ░░░░░░░░ that we do these ░░░░░░░░ is because the truth ░░░░░░░░ the matter is that ░░░░░░░░ specifically and beyond our ░░░░░░░░ and our prosperity and ░░░░░░░░ well being is tied ░░░░░░░░ inextricably linked and when ░░░░░░░░ pursue public policy in ░░░░░░░░ way that on links ░░░░░░░░ from each other it ░░░░░░░░ not sustainable it s ░░░░░░░░ sustainable eventually it catches ░░░░░░░░ to you and it ░░░░░░░░ up to you in ░░░░░░░░ resentment that and that ░░░░░░░░ resentment as a political ░░░░░░░░ to dismantle the economic ░░░░░░░░ that we need to ░░░░░░░░ for ourselves.”
