CALLER I would like ░░░░░░░░ know your opinion on ░░░░░░░░ you think we elected ░░░░░░░░ Trump and what you ░░░░░░░░ is going to happen ░░░░░░░░ a non elected official ░░░░░░░░ as courts shut him ░░░░░░░░ ELAND Well certainly he ░░░░░░░░ elected by the Electoral ░░░░░░░░ and he is a ░░░░░░░░ president of the United ░░░░░░░░ But we have had ░░░░░░░░ rulings before that have ░░░░░░░░ presidents that they can ░░░░░░░░ do various things If ░░░░░░░░ have their role they ░░░░░░░░ up for people s ░░░░░░░░ and they also monitor ░░░░░░░░ checks and balances to ░░░░░░░░ sure one branch doesn ░░░░░░░░ get out of control ░░░░░░░░ think the executive branch ░░░░░░░░ just Donald Trump but ░░░░░░░░ presidents probably since Harry ░░░░░░░░ but certainly since George ░░░░░░░░ Bush and Obama and ░░░░░░░░ it has really gotten ░░░░░░░░ too powerful from what ░░░░░░░░ framers of the Constitution ░░░░░░░░ wanted We don t ░░░░░░░░ a system where electing ░░░░░░░░ president makes him an ░░░░░░░░ and that is the ░░░░░░░░ of the system we ░░░░░░░░ get pushback Certainly in ░░░░░░░░ the Supreme Court blocked ░░░░░░░░ Truman s nationalization of ░░░░░░░░ steel industry or I ░░░░░░░░ say confiscation of the ░░░░░░░░ industry and those steel ░░░░░░░░ were private companies And ░░░░░░░░ reason they did it ░░░░░░░░ because Truman used his ░░░░░░░░ power to go against ░░░░░░░░ wishes That is what ░░░░░░░░ are seeing here It ░░░░░░░░ an exact relationship between ░░░░░░░░ two events the Youngstown ░░░░░░░░ case of 1952 and ░░░░░░░░ is happening here So ░░░░░░░░ think there is a ░░░░░░░░ for courts to monitor ░░░░░░░░ checks and balances that ░░░░░░░░ have in the system ░░░░░░░░ also to ensure people ░░░░░░░░ rights individual s rights ░░░░░░░░ don t have a ░░░░░░░░ democracy We have a ░░░░░░░░ republic which means there ░░░░░░░░ other branches of government ░░░░░░░░ are courts there is ░░░░░░░░ public pushing back there ░░░░░░░░ a lot of different ░░░░░░░░ So just because Trump ░░░░░░░░ the Electoral College or ░░░░░░░░ president wins the Electoral ░░░░░░░░ that doesn t necessarily ░░░░░░░░ he or she can ░░░░░░░░ anything he or she ░░░░░░░░ if we have a ░░░░░░░░ president.”
