Hillary: Schools Are More Segregated Now than in the 1960s

“But you know and ░░░░░░░░ know that s just ░░░░░░░░ beginning of what we ░░░░░░░░ to do The truth ░░░░░░░░ equality opportunity civil rights ░░░░░░░░ America are still far ░░░░░░░░ where they need to ░░░░░░░░ Our schools are still ░░░░░░░░ In fact more segregated ░░░░░░░░ they were in the ░░░░░░░░ Applause Nearly 6 million ░░░░░░░░ Americans between the ages ░░░░░░░░ 16 and 24 are ░░░░░░░░ of school and out ░░░░░░░░ work Think of that ░░░░░░░░ learning nor working And ░░░░░░░░ numbers are particularly high ░░░░░░░░ young people of color ░░░░░░░░ like these are rebukes ░░░░░░░░ the real progress we ░░░░░░░░ made And they pose ░░░░░░░░ urgent call for us ░░░░░░░░ act publicly politically and ░░░░░░░░ We should start by ░░░░░░░░ all of our children ░░░░░░░░ tools and opportunities to ░░░░░░░░ legacies of discrimination to ░░░░░░░░ up to their own ░░░░░░░░ given potentials I just ░░░░░░░░ some of the young ░░░░░░░░ attending camp here at ░░░░░░░░ down in the basement ░░░░░░░░ I was thrilled to ░░░░░░░░ that because that is ░░░░░░░░ kind of commitment we ░░░░░░░░ more of in every ░░░░░░░░ in every place until ░░░░░░░░ child is reached And ░░░░░░░░ hope we can take ░░░░░░░░ as a cause for ░░░░░░░░ Applause I learned this ░░░░░░░░ from politics but from ░░░░░░░░ mother who taught me ░░░░░░░░ everybody everybody needs a ░░░░░░░░ and a champion She ░░░░░░░░ what it was like ░░░░░░░░ have neither one Her ░░░░░░░░ parents abandoned her By ░░░░░░░░ she was out on ░░░░░░░░ own working as a ░░░░░░░░ maid Years later when ░░░░░░░░ was old enough to ░░░░░░░░ I asked her What ░░░░░░░░ you going Her answer ░░░░░░░░ very simple Kindness along ░░░░░░░░ way from someone who ░░░░░░░░ she mattered All lives ░░░░░░░░ Applause)
