SARSOUR I want you ░░░░░░░░ give it up to ░░░░░░░░ Darcy Roake a Unitarian ░░░░░░░░ a clergy advisory board ░░░░░░░░ to Planned Parenthood and ░░░░░░░░ Reverend Kaji Dou a ░░░░░░░░ this great city of ░░░░░░░░ York that I am ░░░░░░░░ too Let s give ░░░░░░░░ up to these fabulous ░░░░░░░░ ROAKE Hello all Thank ░░░░░░░░ so much for being ░░░░░░░░ to do sacred work ░░░░░░░░ come from the state ░░░░░░░░ Louisiana Now the state ░░░░░░░░ Louisiana first and foremost ░░░░░░░░ some of the worst ░░░░░░░░ outcomes in the country ░░░░░░░░ for women Just last ░░░░░░░░ the state of Louisiana ░░░░░░░░ Fifth Circuit Court of ░░░░░░░░ overturned the Supreme Court ░░░░░░░░ about admitting privileges meaning ░░░░░░░░ women are not going ░░░░░░░░ be able to have ░░░░░░░░ full access to health ░░░░░░░░ very soon This has ░░░░░░░░ now And I must ░░░░░░░░ also though that Louisiana ░░░░░░░░ a state of wonder ░░░░░░░░ I am very proud ░░░░░░░░ It is a generative ░░░░░░░░ where things grow in ░░░░░░░░ lush bayou where people ░░░░░░░░ together in diverse traditions ░░░░░░░░ cultures especially in my ░░░░░░░░ hometown of New Orleans ░░░░░░░░ And where the reproductive ░░░░░░░░ movement led by women ░░░░░░░░ color is strong and ░░░░░░░░ and beautiful And I ░░░░░░░░ tell you this it ░░░░░░░░ full of holy love ░░░░░░░░ it is full of ░░░░░░░░ rage And let me ░░░░░░░░ you what I mean ░░░░░░░░ holy rage I do ░░░░░░░░ mean the rage that ░░░░░░░░ men and other people ░░░░░░░░ assault women and other ░░░░░░░░ using their power in ░░░░░░░░ and horrific ways and ░░░░░░░░ be accountable for it ░░░░░░░░ rage is using our ░░░░░░░░ given emotions and channeling ░░░░░░░░ to create connections to ░░░░░░░░ community to ask white ░░░░░░░░ like myself to be ░░░░░░░░ for our actions to ░░░░░░░░ our people And holy ░░░░░░░░ stops elevator doors and ░░░░░░░░ people to look at ░░░░░░░░ to look at all ░░░░░░░░ We will not be ░░░░░░░░ And in this too ░░░░░░░░ will tell you two ░░░░░░░░ part of my own ░░░░░░░░ rage One is that ░░░░░░░░ congregants and my fellow ░░░░░░░░ in Louisiana may not ░░░░░░░░ able to access health ░░░░░░░░ And that makes me ░░░░░░░░ But also and truly ░░░░░░░░ holy rage comes from ░░░░░░░░ fact that my husband ░░░░░░░░ I worked so very ░░░░░░░░ to teach our young ░░░░░░░░ son that kindness is ░░░░░░░░ virtue that respect for ░░░░░░░░ is the greatest virtue ░░░░░░░░ all And now the ░░░░░░░░ is telling him as ░░░░░░░░ white boy that he ░░░░░░░░ not be accountable for ░░░░░░░░ he does if he ░░░░░░░░ something that he should ░░░░░░░░ and wield his power ░░░░░░░░ enormously horrific ways That ░░░░░░░░ not what I m ░░░░░░░░ in my church that ░░░░░░░░ not what I m ░░░░░░░░ in my home We ░░░░░░░░ building connections in community ░░░░░░░░ so I must say ░░░░░░░░ people of faith and ░░░░░░░░ people faithful to justice ░░░░░░░░ compassion and love we ░░░░░░░░ show our rage We ░░░░░░░░ show our love and ░░░░░░░░ and connection Not just ░░░░░░░░ the voting booth but ░░░░░░░░ ll do it in ░░░░░░░░ lives in our homes ░░░░░░░░ our congregations and in ░░░░░░░░ communities This is sacred ░░░░░░░░ and I am honored ░░░░░░░░ be with all you ░░░░░░░░ righteous rageful and loving ░░░░░░░░
