Letterman’s Final Message: That’s Pretty Much All I Got

and of course the ░░░░░░░░ throughout the years of ░░░░░░░░ show and the show ░░░░░░░░ NBC i have been ░░░░░░░░ and lucky to work ░░░░░░░░ men and women who ░░░░░░░░ smarter than i am ░░░░░░░░ funnier than i am ░░░░░░░░ i have always been ░░░░░░░░ in doing the show ░░░░░░░░ the writers have given ░░░░░░░░ now these people collectively ░░░░░░░░ i have just now ░░░░░░░░ and introduced believe me ░░░░░░░░ is absolutely the truth ░░░░░░░░ more credit for this ░░░░░░░░ than i ever will ░░░░░░░░ you to all of ░░░░░░░░ people cheers and applause ░░░░░░░░ now folks we see ░░░░░░░░ night my thanks to ░░░░░░░░ announcer alan kalter i ░░░░░░░░ t know of a ░░░░░░░░ announcer than alan kalter ░░░░░░░░ Dave applause a guy ░░░░░░░░ has been with me ░░░░░░░░ 35 years and mostly ░░░░░░░░ day he and i ░░░░░░░░ been involved in making ░░░░░░░░ shows biff henderson biff ░░░░░░░░ are you biff henderson ░░░░░░░░ there thank you biff ░░░░░░░░ bless you applause here ░░░░░░░░ what i will miss ░░░░░░░░ about this show and ░░░░░░░░ will start now with ░░░░░░░░ Collins Felicia Collins applause ░░░░░░░░ mcginnis will Lee anton ░░░░░░░░ Tom malone Frank green ░░░░░░░░ height and my good ░░░░░░░░ friend as good a ░░░░░░░░ as you can have ░░░░░░░░ television as good a ░░░░░░░░ as you can have ░░░░░░░░ life absolutely a genius ░░░░░░░░ shaffer it s the ░░░░░░░░ orchestra Paul thank you ░░░░░░░░ how about that band ░░░░░░░░ you everybody thank you ░░░░░░░░ much David you changed ░░░░░░░░ lives applause we ve ░░░░░░░░ every second of it ░░░░░░░░ it s it s ░░░░░░░░ obvious every night and ░░░░░░░░ tonight that they are ░░░░░░░░ much better at their ░░░░░░░░ than i am at ░░░░░░░░ job a part show ░░░░░░░░ my mother for gosh ░░░░░░░░ Paul oh yes laughter ░░░░░░░░ well that s that ░░░░░░░░ not that s betty ░░░░░░░░ we ll see my ░░░░░░░░ there she is there ░░░░░░░░ mom applause i remember ░░░░░░░░ first time we were ░░░░░░░░ to have mom on ░░░░░░░░ show and i called ░░░░░░░░ and i said mom ░░░░░░░░ would like you to ░░░░░░░░ on my show and ░░░░░░░░ said you have a ░░░░░░░░ laughter and it s ░░░░░░░░ nothing but fun ever ░░░░░░░░ i want to thank ░░░░░░░░ own family my wife ░░░░░░░░ and my son Harry ░░░░░░░░ thank you look at ░░░░░░░░ kid just seriously just ░░░░░░░░ you for being my ░░░░░░░░ you both and really ░░░░░░░░ else matters does it ░░░░░░░░ and before the show ░░░░░░░░ wanted me to introduce ░░░░░░░░ buddy tommy tommy right ░░░░░░░░ there s tommy oh ░░░░░░░░ i want to thank ░░░░░░░░ folks at home you ░░░░░░░░ people come up to ░░░░░░░░ all time and they ░░░░░░░░ Dave i ve been ░░░░░░░░ you since your morning ░░░░░░░░ and i always say ░░░░░░░░ you thought about a ░░░░░░░░ psychological work up the ░░░░░░░░ who watch this show ░░░░░░░░ s nothing i can ░░░░░░░░ to ever repay you ░░░░░░░░ you for everything you ░░░░░░░░ given me everything and ░░░░░░░░ you again applause let ░░░░░░░░ tell you a little ░░░░░░░░ about foo fighters cheers ░░░░░░░░ applause first of all ░░░░░░░░ we show the picture ░░░░░░░░ we were going to ░░░░░░░░ of my son before ░░░░░░░░ stood up here was ░░░░░░░░ picture we were going ░░░░░░░░ laughter applause Paul beautiful ░░░░░░░░ boy Dave yeah Paul ░░░░░░░░ s beautiful Dave we ░░░░░░░░ had him to all ░░░░░░░░ best clinics laughter so ░░░░░░░░ years ago i have ░░░░░░░░ heart surgery and these ░░░░░░░░ saved my life they ░░░░░░░░ i m out not ░░░░░░░░ the show for like ░░░░░░░░ or six weeks and ░░░░░░░░ m in talking with ░░░░░░░░ Rogers she says well ░░░░░░░░ your first show back ░░░░░░░░ there anything special you ░░░░░░░░ like musically and i ░░░░░░░░ well yeah and we ░░░░░░░░ to talking and we ░░░░░░░░ what about foo fighters ░░░░░░░░ had been on at ░░░░░░░░ time four or five ░░░░░░░░ she said well i ░░░░░░░░ ask them but it ░░░░░░░░ be a problem and ░░░░░░░░ said well just ask ░░░░░░░░ and also there s ░░░░░░░░ song of theirs i ░░░░░░░░ like to hear it ░░░░░░░░ special to me it ░░░░░░░░ been meaningful through my ░░░░░░░░ recovery it would be ░░░░░░░░ great two days later ░░░░░░░░ calls back and says ░░░░░░░░ s some we have ░░░░░░░░ they re on tour ░░░░░░░░ south America and i ░░░░░░░░ oh darn and she ░░░░░░░░ that s all right ░░░░░░░░ canceled the tour applause ░░░░░░░░ said they re coming ░░░░░░░░ to do the show ░░░░░░░░ they are doing the ░░░░░░░░ that you asked for ░░░░░░░░ ladies and gentlemen happily ░░░░░░░░ since we ve been ░░░░░░░░ at the hip God ░░░░░░░░ you gentlemen thank you ░░░░░░░░ much all right that ░░░░░░░░ pretty much all i ░░░░░░░░ the only thing i ░░░░░░░░ left to do for ░░░░░░░░ last time on a ░░░░░░░░ program thank you and ░░░░░░░░ night.
