RUSH TRANSCRIPT Well there ░░░░░░░░ a few things I ░░░░░░░░ the points you make ░░░░░░░░ this being a very ░░░░░░░░ partisan issue now is ░░░░░░░░ It did not used ░░░░░░░░ be this way Things ░░░░░░░░ the highway trust fund ░░░░░░░░ were slam Dunks They ░░░░░░░░ lay UPS Everybody essentially ░░░░░░░░ what they wanted And ░░░░░░░░ was roughly the same ░░░░░░░░ for things like amtrak ░░░░░░░░ has been some griping ░░░░░░░░ the course of the ░░░░░░░░ but eventually people came ░░░░░░░░ and said we got ░░░░░░░░ move this forward What ░░░░░░░░ really happened recently it ░░░░░░░░ a very important point ░░░░░░░░ lot of these House ░░░░░░░░ they come from districts ░░░░░░░░ amtrak plays no role ░░░░░░░░ essentially their entire model ░░░░░░░░ it doesn t affect ░░░░░░░░ I don t hear ░░░░░░░░ it at home I ░░░░░░░░ t care about it ░░░░░░░░ s another big spend ░░░░░░░░ boondoggle that we do ░░░░░░░░ need If you talk ░░░░░░░░ Republicans from the northeast ░░░░░░░░ lot of them push ░░░░░░░░ on their more conservative ░░░░░░░░ and say hey this ░░░░░░░░ matters a lot to ░░░░░░░░ So it s something ░░░░░░░░ should be in fact ░░░░░░░░ What happened today is ░░░░░░░░ striking In March Congress ░░░░░░░░ together on a 1 ░░░░░░░░ billion re authorization the ░░░░░░░░ of jurisdiction actually agreed ░░░░░░░░ 316 votes However because ░░░░░░░░ the caps put in ░░░░░░░░ by the sequester by ░░░░░░░░ budget dating back to ░░░░░░░░ Alex the appropriations committee ░░░░░░░░ big footed the transportation ░░░░░░░░ and now they brought ░░░░░░░░ this budget to 1 ░░░░░░░░ billion So what you ░░░░░░░░ essentially seeing here are ░░░░░░░░ effects of the sequester ░░░░░░░░ years later playing a ░░░░░░░░ role in the funding ░░░░░░░░ Amtrak ironically the day ░░░░░░░░ a deadly derailment in ░░░░░░░░ It shows you how ░░░░░░░░ that legislation is felt ░░░░░░░░ all aspects of governing ░░░░░░░░ on Capitol Hill.”
