    WOODRUFF One last thing ░░░░░░░░ want to make time ░░░░░░░░ is just a tumultuous ░░░░░░░░ in many ways bad ░░░░░░░░ for the media Brian ░░░░░░░░ suspended at NBC News ░░░░░░░░ death of David Carr ░░░░░░░░ Bob Simon with CBS ░░░░░░░░ David Carr the media ░░░░░░░░ for The Times and ░░░░░░░░ course the news from ░░░░░░░░ Stewart David on the ░░░░░░░░ Williams question I guess ░░░░░░░░ I m curious to ░░░░░░░░ is does that reflect ░░░░░░░░ everyone in the media ░░░░░░░░ does the media come ░░░░░░░░ of this episode BROOKS ░░░░░░░░ I don t think ░░░░░░░░ reflects us broadly It ░░░░░░░░ to a couple truths ░░░░░░░░ one is that no ░░░░░░░░ of public success is ░░░░░░░░ You can have all ░░░░░░░░ accolades in the world ░░░░░░░░ where Brian Williams was ░░░░░░░░ the tippy top Public ░░░░░░░░ is still empty and ░░░░░░░░ still leaves you hungry ░░░░░░░░ you still want to ░░░░░░░░ a little more on ░░░░░░░░ hope that you will ░░░░░░░░ what you want which ░░░░░░░░ some sort of adulation ░░░░░░░░ will satisfy you But ░░░░░░░░ never happens That never ░░░░░░░░ And so it just ░░░░░░░░ you hungrier and hungrier ░░░░░░░░ I think that s ░░░░░░░░ we saw with Brian ░░░░░░░░ somebody who just wanted ░░░░░░░░ be seen a little ░░░░░░░░ and so made up ░░░░░░░░ stuff I personally think ░░░░░░░░ reaction against him is ░░░░░░░░ out of proportion to ░░░░░░░░ he did And I ░░░░░░░░ we all have to ░░░░░░░░ a capacity for forgiveness ░░░░░░░░ rigorous forgiveness for what ░░░░░░░░ did And I personally ░░░░░░░░ he continues his job ░░░░░░░░ quickly on my colleague ░░░░░░░░ Carr who I wasn ░░░░░░░░ close with at all ░░░░░░░░ s one two lessons ░░░░░░░░ are second acts in ░░░░░░░░ life He had a ░░░░░░░░ riddled first act Second ░░░░░░░░ s an encouragement to ░░░░░░░░ yourself He had an ░░░░░░░░ large personality which he ░░░░░░░░ not check ever And ░░░░░░░░ glowed in his prose ░░░░░░░░ in his presence.”
