the podium and ░░░░░░░░ on television and terribly ░░░░░░░░ and all that So ░░░░░░░░ uh he was somebody ░░░░░░░░ was just always on ░░░░░░░░ political uh scene um ░░░░░░░░ day you know agree ░░░░░░░░ disagree with him Man ░░░░░░░░ Johnny on the spot ░░░░░░░░ said I ve not ░░░░░░░░ him in a long ░░░░░░░░ I mean do you ░░░░░░░░ what condition he s ░░░░░░░░ or what shape he ░░░░░░░░ in or gt gt to ░░░░░░░░ your question uh that ░░░░░░░░ uh he s in ░░░░░░░░ s in a convolescent ░░░░░░░░ uh in Chicago Uh ░░░░░░░░ uh his mind is ░░░░░░░░ as ever I went ░░░░░░░░ spend some time with ░░░░░░░░ and uh he u ░░░░░░░░ only speak in a ░░░░░░░░ these days Um but ░░░░░░░░ leaned in real close ░░░░░░░░ listen to him Droy ░░░░░░░░ started talking about our ░░░░░░░░ on Ukraine and Russia ░░░░░░░░ was whispering to me ░░░░░░░░ Israel and Gaza I ░░░░░░░░ his mind uh is ░░░░░░░░ there Uh and uh ░░░░░░░░ s you again he ░░░░░░░░ t he can t ░░░░░░░░ his eyes um these ░░░░░░░░ really Uh but um ░░░░░░░░ s sitting there listening ░░░░░░░░ to news and information ░░░░░░░░ day long So he ░░░░░░░░ still as tapped in ░░░░░░░░ he ever was As ░░░░░░░░ said earlier it s ░░░░░░░░ his DNA Um so ░░░░░░░░ yeah he no question about it ░░░░░░░░ and I hear your ░░░░░░░░ that you don t ░░░░░░░░ don t agree with ░░░░░░░░ politically but his impact ░░░░░░░░ in terms of pushing ░░░░░░░░ Democratic Party I think ░░░░░░░░ unquestioned gt gt Uh ░░░░░░░░ That and also um ░░░░░░░░ tremendous visibility That s ░░░░░░░░ thing you say you ░░░░░░░░ we we don t ░░░░░░░░ 25 forever unfortunately And ░░░░░░░░ s right gt gt ░░░░░░░░ know you reach a ░░░░░░░░ where somebody who s ░░░░░░░░ the TV on the ░░░░░░░░ on the radio every ░░░░░░░░ all the time suddenly ░░░░░░░░ t there or not ░░░░░░░░ but gradually isn t ░░░░░░░░ And then you think ░░░░░░░░ yourself gee I you ░░░░░░░░ I ve not seen ░░░░░░░░ for a while How ░░░░░░░░ he doing So I ░░░░░░░░ glad you guys had ░░░░░░░░ opportunity to spend some ░░░░░░░░ in this ░░░░░░░░ the Senate So you ░░░░░░░░ even with every I ░░░░░░░░ every Republican except Ran ░░░░░░░░ supporting this thing Uh ░░░░░░░░ need to get another ░░░░░░░░ know five or six ░░░░░░░░ to get this thing ░░░░░░░░ the you know out ░░░░░░░░ uh filibuster and onto ░░░░░░░░ floor to be voted ░░░░░░░░ And these uh Republicans ░░░░░░░░ the Senate put up ░░░░░░░░ vote after another after ░░░░░░░░ saying Okay uh if ░░░░░░░░ pass this and reopen ░░░░░░░░ government the uh soldiers ░░░░░░░░ GIS and military will ░░░░░░░░ paid Uh if we ░░░░░░░░ this and reopen the ░░░░░░░░ government the air traffic ░░░░░░░░ will get paid There ░░░░░░░░ a vote I think ░░░░░░░░ yesterday saying that if ░░░░░░░░ reopen the government and ░░░░░░░░ shutdown uh the money ░░░░░░░░ flow for uh for ░░░░░░░░ stamps the SNAP program ░░░░░░░░ there are a lot ░░░░░░░░ people millions of folks ░░░░░░░░ need uh nutrition assistance ░░░░░░░░ as of if you ░░░░░░░░ on SNAP you better ░░░░░░░░ get to the grocery ░░░░░░░░ before Halloween because as ░░░░░░░░ November one that money ░░░░░░░░ out And you would ░░░░░░░░ that Democrats which always ░░░░░░░░ see say that they ░░░░░░░░ the party that supports ░░░░░░░░ uh needy people and ░░░░░░░░ on that they would ░░░░░░░░ All right well we ░░░░░░░░ to help the people ░░░░░░░░ These this is kind ░░░░░░░░ our base I think ░░░░░░░░ or 75 or 80 ░░░░░░░░ people on food stamps ░░░░░░░░ Democrats Um and yet ░░░░░░░░ voted no They voted ░░░░░░░░ this So I m ░░░░░░░░ sure what else the ░░░░░░░░ or the Senate can ░░░░░░░░ other than you know ░░░░░░░░ all the Republicans in ░░░░░░░░ Senate and all but ░░░░░░░░ I think it was ░░░░░░░░ believe was unanimous in ░░░░░░░░ uh House vote for ░░░░░░░░ thing for the continuing ░░░░░░░░ which the Democrats voted ░░░░░░░░ in favor 13 times ░░░░░░░░ and they keep they ░░░░░░░░ putting these additional things ░░░░░░░░ you know we ll ░░░░░░░░ special money in to ░░░░░░░░ sure that that SNAP ░░░░░░░░ the food people getting frustrated but ░░░░░░░░ m not sure what ░░░░░░░░ the Republicans can do ░░░░░░░░ than vote unanim unanimously ░░░░░░░░ reopen the government And ░░░░░░░░ just don t have ░░░░░░░░ seven you don t ░░░░░░░░ up the extra six ░░░░░░░░ seven uh Democrats you ░░░░░░░░ in order to reopen ░░░░░░░░ government get back to ░░░░░░░░ gt gt When you ░░░░░░░░ you ask that question ░░░░░░░░ not at were ░░░░░░░░ on that call uh ░░░░░░░░ were raising questions about ░░░░░░░░ or not this strategy ░░░░░░░░ refusing to to negotiate ░░░░░░░░ Democrats um is a ░░░░░░░░ strategy What say you ░░░░░░░░ that gt gt Well ░░░░░░░░ I m all for ░░░░░░░░ negotiations I ll mention ░░░░░░░░ a minute I think ░░░░░░░░ that might be the ░░░░░░░░ compromise here but you ░░░░░░░░ in order to uh ░░░░░░░░ the negotiations which could ░░░░░░░░ on for weeks and ░░░░░░░░ I mean this is ░░░░░░░░ an easy uh issue ░░░░░░░░ reopen the government let ░░░░░░░░ air traffic controllers show ░░░░░░░░ and make sure the ░░░░░░░░ don t smack into ░░░░░░░░ other Let the TSA ░░░░░░░░ get paid so we ░░░░░░░░ sure people get on ░░░░░░░░ shouldn t be on ░░░░░░░░ not folks who shouldn ░░░░░░░░ be on them and ░░░░░░░░ people who need public ░░░░░░░░ get the public assistance ░░░░░░░░ then with all that ░░░░░░░░ to normal you can ░░░░░░░░ discussions now I think ░░░░░░░░ one thing that could ░░░░░░░░ a way that uh ░░░░░░░░ make everyone happy is ░░░░░░░░ say look uh in ░░░░░░░░ of subsidies for healthcare ░░░░░░░░ don t think that ░░░░░░░░ be going to illegal ░░░░░░░░ who broke into this ░░░░░░░░ if if you came ░░░░░░░░ here illegally I don ░░░░░░░░ think you ought to ░░░░░░░░ getting any help but ░░░░░░░░ you re here illegally ░░░░░░░░ re an American citizen ░░░░░░░░ you re a legal ░░░░░░░░ and you need assistance ░░░░░░░░ healthcare How about this ░░░░░░░░ whatever the subsidies are ░░░░░░░░ re going to get ░░░░░░░░ ll get it in ░░░░░░░░ terms of a voucher ░░░░░░░░ you want to use ░░░░░░░░ for ObamaCare great If ░░░░░░░░ want to use that ░░░░░░░░ a catastrophic u individual ░░░░░░░░ plan with high deductible ░░░░░░░░ can do that If ░░░░░░░░ want to get an ░░░░░░░░ health plan that ll ░░░░░░░░ available Anybody who wants ░░░░░░░░ health savings account can ░░░░░░░░ it So basically the ░░░░░░░░ will get the subsidies ░░░░░░░░ they want and the ░░░░░░░░ and conservatives get the ░░░░░░░░ the choice the freedom ░░░░░░░░ and ability to shop ░░░░░░░░ that we like That ░░░░░░░░ be something that makes ░░░░░░░░ happy and that might ░░░░░░░░ a way of getting ░░░░░░░░ of this But I ░░░░░░░░ a way to get ░░░░░░░░ is to reopen the ░░░░░░░░ make sure that the ░░░░░░░░ services people pay for ░░░░░░░░ their taxes are delivered ░░░░░░░░ then people could sit ░░░░░░░░ and have a sensible ░░░░░░░░ try to come up ░░░░░░░░ something that s uh ░░░░░░░░ to do a lot ░░░░░░░░ good for a lot ░░░░░░░░ people gt gt Um ░░░░░░░░ I hear your idea ░░░░░░░░ it s worth noodling ░░░░░░░░ that again you can ░░░░░░░░ get to that point ░░░░░░░░ if the two sides ░░░░░░░░ t come together and ░░░░░░░░ agree um to some ░░░░░░░░ of framework to make ░░░░░░░░ happen Um just jumping ░░░░░░░░ there and reopening government ░░░░░░░░ then trying to address ░░░░░░░░ issues I think is ░░░░░░░░ That s just my ░░░░░░░░ of it But one ░░░░░░░░ the other issues that ░░░░░░░░ out in this conversation ░░░░░░░░ we were told uh to ░░░░░░░░ is or not is ░░░░░░░░ is not in the ░░░░░░░░ budget but assuming that ░░░░░░░░ money is there there ░░░░░░░░ no reason in my ░░░░░░░░ why they can t ░░░░░░░░ having oversight hearings uh ░░░░░░░░ u confirmation hearings in ░░░░░░░░ Senate side for people ░░░░░░░░ have judicial nominations or ░░░░░░░░ for ambassador or whatever ░░░░░░░░ it is Uh and ░░░░░░░░ they you know there ░░░░░░░░ no reason I I ░░░░░░░░ they can t be ░░░░░░░░ passing legislation and debating ░░░░░░░░ it and you know ░░░░░░░░ stuff the Democrats like ░░░░░░░░ pass sometimes some stuff ░░░░░░░░ dislike might pass but ░░░░░░░░ the house ought to ░░░░░░░░ able to continue doing ░░░░░░░░ work while the rest ░░░░░░░░ the government basically the ░░░░░░░░ mainly the executive Branch ░░░░░░░░ is closed if they ░░░░░░░░ the money to do ░░░░░░░░ again I don t ░░░░░░░░ if the funding is ░░░░░░░░ that they re able ░░░░░░░░ to to meet in ░░░░░░░░ session in the house ░░░░░░░░ that seems seems to ░░░░░░░░ process we may break ░░░░░░░░ ice jam If we ░░░░░░░░ in good faith with ░░░░░░░░ the apppropole process we ░░░░░░░░ break the ice jam ░░░░░░░░ makes sense to me ░░░░░░░░ s wrong with that ░░░░░░░░ gt You mean Republicans ░░░░░░░░ themselves or negotiate gt ░░░░░░░░ with Democrats With Democrats ░░░░░░░░ gt gt Oh I ░░░░░░░░ Well again I I ░░░░░░░░ think the negotiation s ░░░░░░░░ And I ll give ░░░░░░░░ a rough idea of ░░░░░░░░ I would do or ░░░░░░░░ I propose or where ░░░░░░░░ might end up Um ░░░░░░░░ uh you know I ░░░░░░░░ that the leverage to ░░░░░░░░ that word I ve ░░░░░░░░ a few times already ░░░░░░░░ to get the Democrats ░░░░░░░░ the table and say ░░░░░░░░ you know you got ░░░░░░░░ reopen the government because ░░░░░░░░ know especially when you ░░░░░░░░ dealing with something like ░░░░░░░░ which a very complicated ░░░░░░░░ and there many many ░░░░░░░░ know bells and whistles ░░░░░░░░ uh you know u ░░░░░░░░ parts to this thing ░░░░░░░░ I don t see ░░░░░░░░ as a two or ░░░░░░░░ day negotiation that probably ░░░░░░░░ on for a week ░░░░░░░░ two or three I ░░░░░░░░ remember how long it ░░░░░░░░ to put ObamaCare together ░░░░░░░░ was probably better part ░░░░░░░░ a year maybe more ░░░░░░░░ I mean if if ░░░░░░░░ s how long that ░░░░░░░░ goes on does the ░░░░░░░░ stay closed and we ░░░░░░░░ all these problems with ░░░░░░░░ traffic controllers not getting ░░░░░░░░ Soldiers may or don ░░░░░░░░ get paid I think ░░░░░░░░ thankfully this private citizen ░░░░░░░░ up and wrote a ░░░░░░░░ for 130 million to ░░░░░░░░ the GIS If he ░░░░░░░░ t been there you ░░░░░░░░ have people in armed ░░░░░░░░ armed forces wondering how ░░░░░░░░ you know get dinner ░░░░░░░░ Uh so I I ░░░░░░░░ say let s get ░░░░░░░░ to normal at the ░░░░░░░░ function and then sit ░░░░░░░░ at a table and ░░░░░░░░ exactly the kind of ░░░░░░░░ we re talking about ░░░░░░░░ I don t see ░░░░░░░░ don t think that ░░░░░░░░ a quick uh negotiation ░░░░░░░░ s probably something that ░░░░░░░░ going to go go ░░░░░░░░ for at least a ░░░░░░░░ weeks So let s ░░░░░░░░ know let s not ░░░░░░░░ the government closed until ░░░░░░░░ before we can have ░░░░░░░░ some sort of a ░░░░░░░░ and move forward and ░░░░░░░░ you know turn the ░░░░░░░░ back on gt gt ░░░░░░░░ your point about advancing ░░░░░░░░ Thanksgiving in just weeks ░░░░░░░░ now uh and to ░░░░░░░░ earlier point as well ░░░░░░░░ these SNAP benefits uh ░░░░░░░░ cut you saw uh ░░░░░░░░ uh uh dozen more ░░░░░░░░ two dozen states suing ░░░░░░░░ Trump his administration over ░░░░░░░░ food cut off It ░░░░░░░░ about to get really ░░░░░░░░ funky Uh these the ░░░░░░░░ for food stamps to ░░░░░░░░ out there vote to ░░░░░░░░ the government and people ░░░░░░░░ get their benefits on ░░░░░░░░ and the Democrats you ░░░░░░░░ six of them um ░░░░░░░░ they needed was six ░░░░░░░░ them to move over ░░░░░░░░ of them to agree ░░░░░░░░ the U GOP Senate ░░░░░░░░ about three or so ░░░░░░░░ that would have been ░░░░░░░░ the shutdown would end ░░░░░░░░ money would flow everyone ░░░░░░░░ be happy but instead ░░░░░░░░ had all but three ░░░░░░░░ but three I think ░░░░░░░░ Democrats say nope we ░░░░░░░░ not going to do ░░░░░░░░ again this is this ░░░░░░░░ not like okay this ░░░░░░░░ money for tax cuts ░░░░░░░░ this is money for ░░░░░░░░ know some new defense ░░░░░░░░ weapon that Democrats might ░░░░░░░░ like This is for ░░░░░░░░ of many people who ░░░░░░░░ in in the Democrat ░░░░░░░░ If I were a ░░░░░░░░ sort of loyal Democrat ░░░░░░░░ who happens to be ░░░░░░░░ food stamps and I ░░░░░░░░ thinking okay where am ░░░░░░░░ going to get my ░░░░░░░░ tonight And saying ░░░░░░░░ you know quote unquote ░░░░░░░░ can t win vote ░░░░░░░░ Cuomo because he s ░░░░░░░░ far left Democrat but ░░░░░░░░ s not a Marxist ░░░░░░░░ socialist whatever term you ░░░░░░░░ to use Uh and ░░░░░░░░ there is some division ░░░░░░░░ the right And I ░░░░░░░░ had discussions with people ░░░░░░░░ ve known for many ░░░░░░░░ some of whom are ░░░░░░░░ with flee some of ░░░░░░░░ are going with Cuomo ░░░░░░░░ one of my concerns ░░░░░░░░ Andrew Cuomo is what ░░░░░░░░ was a behavior during ░░░░░░░░ CO 19 when he ░░░░░░░░ um CO positive seniors ░░░░░░░░ go back into nursing ░░░░░░░░ and the healthy seniors ░░░░░░░░ were not infected suddenly ░░░░░░░░ infected and about 12 ░░░░░░░░ of them died Just ░░░░░░░░ And so I think ░░░░░░░░ me that s a ░░░░░░░░ When you re responsible ░░░░░░░░ the deaths of almost ░░░░░░░░ 000 seniors you shouldn ░░░░░░░░ be running for office ░░░░░░░░ ought to be indicted ░░░░░░░░ negligent homicide So I ░░░░░░░░ Cuomo ought to get ░░░░░░░░ of this race ░░░░░░░░ out of session and ░░░░░░░░ to negotiate with Democrats ░░░░░░░░ the cracks are growing ░░░░░░░░ over their shutdown strategy ░░░░░░░░ out uh on a ░░░░░░░░ GOP call yesterday afternoon ░░░░░░░░ talk to Fox News ░░░░░░░░ and American spectator contributing ░░░░░░░░ Deory Murdoch uh in ░░░░░░░░ a moment after I ░░░░░░░░ can after I give ░░░░░░░░ uh what I promised ░░░░░░░░ d give you everything he said ░░░░░░░░ uh boy what a ░░░░░░░░ a tremendously wellspoken and ░░░░░░░░ passionate uh advocate for ░░░░░░░░ views and uh somebody ░░░░░░░░ s obviously great behind ░░░░░░░░ podium and great on ░░░░░░░░ and terribly energetic and ░░░░░░░░ that So yeah uh ░░░░░░░░ was somebody who was ░░░░░░░░ always on the political ░░░░░░░░ scene um every day ░░░░░░░░ know agree or disagree ░░░░░░░░ him Man is Johnny ░░░░░░░░ the spot I said ░░░░░░░░ ve not seen him ░░░░░░░░ a long time I ░░░░░░░░ do you know what ░░░░░░░░ he s in or ░░░░░░░░ shape he s in ░░░░░░░░ gt gt we just ░░░░░░░░ just talked about it ░░░░░░░░ know he has he ░░░░░░░░ diagnosed with Parkinson s ░░░░░░░░ time ago and I ░░░░░░░░ in Chicago a few ░░░░░░░░ ago went to visit ░░░░░░░░ So the Parkinson s ░░░░░░░░ you there listening to to ░░░░░░░░ and information all day ░░░░░░░░ So he s still ░░░░░░░░ tapped in as he ░░░░░░░░ was As I said ░░░░░░░░ it s in his ░░░░░░░░ Um so uh yeah ░░░░░░░░ um you know he in the ░░░░░░░░ So you know even ░░░░░░░░ every I think every ░░░░░░░░ except Ran Paul supporting ░░░░░░░░ thing Uh you need ░░░░░░░░ get another you know ░░░░░░░░ or six Democrats to ░░░░░░░░ this thing off the ░░░░░░░░ know out of uh ░░░░░░░░ and onto the floor ░░░░░░░░ be voted on And ░░░░░░░░ uh Republicans in the ░░░░░░░░ put up one vote ░░░░░░░░ another after another saying ░░░░░░░░ uh if we pass ░░░░░░░░ and reopen the government ░░░░░░░░ uh soldiers the GIS ░░░░░░░░ military will get paid ░░░░░░░░ if we pass this ░░░░░░░░ reopen the uh government ░░░░░░░░ air traffic controllers will ░░░░░░░░ paid There was a ░░░░░░░░ I think just yesterday ░░░░░░░░ that if we reopen ░░░░░░░░ government and the shutdown ░░░░░░░░ the money will flow ░░░░░░░░ uh for food stamps ░░░░░░░░ SNAP program and there ░░░░░░░░ a lot of people ░░░░░░░░ of folks who need ░░░░░░░░ nutrition assistance And as ░░░░░░░░ if you re on ░░░░░░░░ you better uh get ░░░░░░░░ the grocery store before ░░░░░░░░ because as of November ░░░░░░░░ that money runs out ░░░░░░░░ you would think that ░░░░░░░░ which always say see ░░░░░░░░ that they re the ░░░░░░░░ that supports uh uh ░░░░░░░░ people and so on ░░░░░░░░ they would say All ░░░░░░░░ well we got to ░░░░░░░░ the people out These ░░░░░░░░ is kind of our ░░░░░░░░ I think 80 or ░░░░░░░░ or 80 of people ░░░░░░░░ food stamps are Democrats ░░░░░░░░ and yet they voted ░░░░░░░░ They voted against this ░░░░░░░░ I m not sure ░░░░░░░░ else the Democrat or ░░░░░░░░ Senate can do other ░░░░░░░░ you know have all ░░░░░░░░ Republicans in the Senate ░░░░░░░░ all but uh I ░░░░░░░░ it was I believe ░░░░░░░░ unanimous in the uh ░░░░░░░░ vote for this thing ░░░░░░░░ the continuing resolution which ░░░░░░░░ Democrats voted for in ░░░░░░░░ 13 times Uh and ░░░░░░░░ keep they keep putting ░░░░░░░░ additional things saying you ░░░░░░░░ we ll put special ░░░░░░░░ in to make sure ░░░░░░░░ that SNAP continues the ░░░░░░░░ stamps continue that uh ░░░░░░░░ TSA people get paid ░░░░░░░░ the GIS get paid ░░░░░░░░ um the Schumer um ░░░░░░░░ and Schumer filibuster continue ░░░░░░░░ the government stays closed ░░░░░░░░ u I understand people ░░░░░░░░ frustrated but I m ░░░░░░░░ sure what else the ░░░░░░░░ can do other than ░░░░░░░░ unanim unanimously to reopen ░░░░░░░░ government And you just ░░░░░░░░ t have um seven ░░░░░░░░ don t kicked up ░░░░░░░░ extra six or seven ░░░░░░░░ Democrats you need in ░░░░░░░░ to reopen the government ░░░░░░░░ back to normal gt ░░░░░░░░ When you when you ░░░░░░░░ that question uh not ░░░░░░░░ all rhetorically I hope ░░░░░░░░ uh about what Republicans ░░░░░░░░ do There is something ░░░░░░░░ can do They could ░░░░░░░░ with um ending this ░░░░░░░░ to even come to ░░░░░░░░ negotiating table with Democrats ░░░░░░░░ s part of what ░░░░░░░░ heard that came out ░░░░░░░░ this call yesterday that ░░░░░░░░ was Marjorie Taylor Green ░░░░░░░░ others She wasn t ░░░░░░░░ only one Dan Krenshaw ░░░░░░░░ There were others on ░░░░░░░░ call uh who were ░░░░░░░░ questions about whether or ░░░░░░░░ this strategy of refusing ░░░░░░░░ to negotiate with Democrats ░░░░░░░░ is a sound strategy ░░░░░░░░ say you about that ░░░░░░░░ gt Well yeah I ░░░░░░░░ all for the negotiations ░░░░░░░░ ll mention in a ░░░░░░░░ I think something that ░░░░░░░░ be the grand compromise ░░░░░░░░ but you know in ░░░░░░░░ to uh have the ░░░░░░░░ which could go on ░░░░░░░░ weeks and weeks I ░░░░░░░░ this is not an ░░░░░░░░ uh issue Uh reopen ░░░░░░░░ government let the air ░░░░░░░░ controllers show up and ░░░░░░░░ sure the planes don ░░░░░░░░ smack into each other ░░░░░░░░ the TSA folks get ░░░░░░░░ so we make sure ░░░░░░░░ get on planes shouldn ░░░░░░░░ be on planes not ░░░░░░░░ who shouldn t be ░░░░░░░░ them and um people ░░░░░░░░ need public assistance get ░░░░░░░░ public assistance and then ░░░░░░░░ all that back to ░░░░░░░░ you can have discussions ░░░░░░░░ I think the one ░░░░░░░░ that could be a ░░░░░░░░ that uh could make ░░░░░░░░ happy is to say ░░░░░░░░ uh in terms of ░░░░░░░░ for healthcare I don ░░░░░░░░ think that should be ░░░░░░░░ to illegal aliens who ░░░░░░░░ into this country if ░░░░░░░░ you came in here ░░░░░░░░ I don t think ░░░░░░░░ ought to be getting ░░░░░░░░ help but if you ░░░░░░░░ here illegally you re ░░░░░░░░ American citizen or you ░░░░░░░░ a legal immigrant and ░░░░░░░░ need assistance with healthcare ░░░░░░░░ about this Uh whatever ░░░░░░░░ subsidies are you re ░░░░░░░░ to get you ll ░░░░░░░░ it in the terms ░░░░░░░░ a voucher If you ░░░░░░░░ to use that for ░░░░░░░░ great If you want ░░░░░░░░ use that for a ░░░░░░░░ u individual uh plan ░░░░░░░░ high deductible you can ░░░░░░░░ that If you want ░░░░░░░░ get an association health ░░░░░░░░ that ll be available ░░░░░░░░ who wants a health ░░░░░░░░ account can have it ░░░░░░░░ basically the Democrats will ░░░░░░░░ the subsidies subsidies they ░░░░░░░░ and the Republicans and ░░░░░░░░ get the uh the ░░░░░░░░ the freedom and and ░░░░░░░░ to shop around that ░░░░░░░░ like That ll be ░░░░░░░░ that makes everybody happy ░░░░░░░░ that might be a ░░░░░░░░ of getting out of ░░░░░░░░ But I think a ░░░░░░░░ to get there is ░░░░░░░░ reopen the government make ░░░░░░░░ that the public services ░░░░░░░░ pay for with their ░░░░░░░░ are delivered and then ░░░░░░░░ could sit down and ░░░░░░░░ a sensible negotiation try ░░░░░░░░ come up with something ░░░░░░░░ s uh going to ░░░░░░░░ a lot of good ░░░░░░░░ a lot of people ░░░░░░░░ gt Um I I ░░░░░░░░ your idea Uh it ░░░░░░░░ worth noodling except that ░░░░░░░░ you can t get ░░░░░░░░ that point uh if ░░░░░░░░ two sides can t ░░░░░░░░ together and uh agree ░░░░░░░░ to some sort of ░░░░░░░░ to make that happen ░░░░░░░░ just jumping out there ░░░░░░░░ reopening government and then ░░░░░░░░ to address those issues ░░░░░░░░ think is backwards That ░░░░░░░░ just my read of ░░░░░░░░ But one of the ░░░░░░░░ issues that came out ░░░░░░░░ this conversation yesterday we ░░░░░░░░ told uh are concerns ░░░░░░░░ were raised about uh ░░░░░░░░ Johnson uh keeping the ░░░░░░░░ the speaker that is ░░░░░░░░ the house in recess ░░░░░░░░ the shutdown So it ░░░░░░░░ one thing to not ░░░░░░░░ to the negotiate to ░░░░░░░░ negotiating table uh to ░░░░░░░░ in good faith with ░░░░░░░░ Is another thing to ░░░░░░░░ all these days of ░░░░░░░░ other work done because ░░░░░░░░ re keeping the House ░░░░░░░░ recess and we re ░░░░░░░░ that there were Republicans ░░░░░░░░ raised concerns about that ░░░░░░░░ them being in recess ░░░░░░░░ this time as well ░░░░░░░░ gt Mhm Well I ░░░░░░░░ that there is a ░░░░░░░░ question there because to ░░░░░░░░ degree that they there ░░░░░░░░ money to turn the ░░░░░░░░ on on the Hill ░░░░░░░░ mean I m not ░░░░░░░░ exactly what the funding ░░░░░░░░ as to what is ░░░░░░░░ not is or is ░░░░░░░░ in the legislative budget ░░░░░░░░ assuming that the money ░░░░░░░░ there there s no ░░░░░░░░ in my view why ░░░░░░░░ can t be having ░░░░░░░░ hearings uh having u ░░░░░░░░ hearings in the Senate ░░░░░░░░ for people who have ░░░░░░░░ nominations or nominations for ░░░░░░░░ or whatever else it ░░░░░░░░ Uh and um they ░░░░░░░░ know there s no ░░░░░░░░ I I think they ░░░░░░░░ t be u passing ░░░░░░░░ and debating on it ░░░░░░░░ you know some stuff ░░░░░░░░ Democrats like might pass ░░░░░░░░ some stuff they dislike ░░░░░░░░ pass but uh the ░░░░░░░░ ought to be able ░░░░░░░░ continue doing its work ░░░░░░░░ the rest of the ░░░░░░░░ basically the essentially mainly ░░░░░░░░ executive Branch uh is ░░░░░░░░ if they have the ░░░░░░░░ to do it again ░░░░░░░░ don t know if ░░░░░░░░ funding is such that ░░░░░░░░ re able even to ░░░░░░░░ meet in in session ░░░░░░░░ the house but that ░░░░░░░░ seems to me that ░░░░░░░░ can walk and chew ░░░░░░░░ at the same time ░░░░░░░░ far as this goes ░░░░░░░░ gt Yep Um again ░░░░░░░░ other piece of this ░░░░░░░░ uh this uh storyline ░░░░░░░░ that broke yesterday uh ░░░░░░░░ this private call where ░░░░░░░░ was some some angst ░░░░░░░░ again I I I ░░░░░░░░ to do Roy s ░░░░░░░░ he s right about ░░░░░░░░ By and large Republican ░░░░░░░░ as I said earlier ░░░░░░░░ largely unified around their ░░░░░░░░ of keeping the House ░░░░░░░░ of session refusing to ░░░░░░░░ with Democrats But again ░░░░░░░░ s why we call ░░░░░░░░ a crack There are ░░░░░░░░ cracks starting to show ░░░░░░░░ one we are told ░░░░░░░░ of these Republicans in ░░░░░░░░ meeting yesterday said that ░░░░░░░░ we negotiate in good ░░░░░░░░ uh with the apppropo ░░░░░░░░ within the appropole process ░░░░░░░░ may break the ice ░░░░░░░░ If we negotiate in ░░░░░░░░ faith with within the ░░░░░░░░ process we may break ░░░░░░░░ ice jam That makes ░░░░░░░░ to me What s ░░░░░░░░ with that gt gt ░░░░░░░░ mean Republicans negotiate themselves ░░░░░░░░ negotiate gt gt with ░░░░░░░░ With Democrats Yeah gt ░░░░░░░░ Oh I see Well ░░░░░░░░ I I I think ░░░░░░░░ negotiation s fine And ░░░░░░░░ ll give you a ░░░░░░░░ idea of what I ░░░░░░░░ do or what I ░░░░░░░░ or where this might ░░░░░░░░ up Um but uh ░░░░░░░░ know I think that ░░░░░░░░ leverage to use that ░░░░░░░░ I ve heard a ░░░░░░░░ times already uh to ░░░░░░░░ the Democrats to the ░░░░░░░░ and say look you ░░░░░░░░ you got to reopen ░░░░░░░░ government because you know ░░░░░░░░ when you re dealing ░░░░░░░░ something like healthcare which ░░░░░░░░ very complicated issue and ░░░░░░░░ many many you know ░░░░░░░░ and whistles and uh ░░░░░░░░ know u loose parts ░░░░░░░░ this thing Um I ░░░░░░░░ t see that as ░░░░░░░░ two or three day ░░░░░░░░ that probably goes on ░░░░░░░░ a week or two ░░░░░░░░ three I mean remember ░░░░░░░░ long it took to ░░░░░░░░ ObamaCare together That was ░░░░░░░░ better part of a ░░░░░░░░ maybe more So I ░░░░░░░░ if if that s ░░░░░░░░ long that negotiation goes ░░░░░░░░ does the government stay ░░░░░░░░ and we have all ░░░░░░░░ problems with air traffic ░░░░░░░░ not getting paid Soldiers ░░░░░░░░ or don t get ░░░░░░░░ I think But thankfully ░░░░░░░░ private citizen showed up ░░░░░░░░ wrote a check for ░░░░░░░░ million to pay the ░░░░░░░░ If he hadn t ░░░░░░░░ there you d have ░░░░░░░░ in armed service armed ░░░░░░░░ wondering how to you ░░░░░░░░ get dinner tonight Uh ░░░░░░░░ I I would say ░░░░░░░░ s get back to ░░░░░░░░ at the government function ░░░░░░░░ then sit down at ░░░░░░░░ table and have exactly ░░░░░░░░ kind of discussion we ░░░░░░░░ talking about And I ░░░░░░░░ t see I don ░░░░░░░░ think that s a ░░░░░░░░ uh negotiation That s ░░░░░░░░ something that s going ░░░░░░░░ go go on for ░░░░░░░░ least a couple weeks ░░░░░░░░ let s you know ░░░░░░░░ s not have the ░░░░░░░░ closed until Thanksgiving before ░░░░░░░░ can have uh some ░░░░░░░░ of a deal and ░░░░░░░░ forward and then you ░░░░░░░░ turn the lights back ░░░░░░░░ gt gt To your ░░░░░░░░ about advancing toward Thanksgiving ░░░░░░░░ just weeks from now ░░░░░░░░ and to your earlier ░░░░░░░░ as well about these ░░░░░░░░ benefits uh being cut ░░░░░░░░ saw uh these done uh political ads ░░░░░░░░ to people what s ░░░░░░░░ on I think the ░░░░░░░░ by John Thun today ░░░░░░░░ particular and the speeches ░░░░░░░░ Mike Johnson kind of ░░░░░░░░ what the GOP s ░░░░░░░░ is on this But ░░░░░░░░ mean I think to ░░░░░░░░ degree that they had ░░░░░░░░ vote in the Senate ░░░░░░░░ think it was yesterday ░░░░░░░░ look uh we will ░░░░░░░░ want the money for ░░░░░░░░ stamps to be out ░░░░░░░░ vote to reopen the ░░░░░░░░ and people will get ░░░░░░░░ benefits on Saturday and ░░░░░░░░ Democrats you know six ░░░░░░░░ them um all they ░░░░░░░░ was six of them ░░░░░░░░ move over five of ░░░░░░░░ to agree with the ░░░░░░░░ GOP Senate and about ░░░░░░░░ or so Democrats that ░░░░░░░░ have been approved the ░░░░░░░░ would end the money ░░░░░░░░ flow everyone would be ░░░░░░░░ but instead you had ░░░░░░░░ but three all but ░░░░░░░░ I think uh Democrats ░░░░░░░░ nope we re not ░░░░░░░░ to do And again ░░░░░░░░ is this is not ░░░░░░░░ okay this is money ░░░░░░░░ tax cuts or this ░░░░░░░░ money for you know ░░░░░░░░ new defense u weapon ░░░░░░░░ Democrats might not like ░░░░░░░░ is for benefits of ░░░░░░░░ people who are in ░░░░░░░░ the Democrat base If ░░░░░░░░ were a a sort ░░░░░░░░ loyal Democrat voter who ░░░░░░░░ to be on food ░░░░░░░░ and I m thinking ░░░░░░░░ where am I going ░░░░░░░░ get my dinner tonight ░░░░░░░░ I m think looking ░░░░░░░░ Chuck Schumer thinking you ░░░░░░░░ against that Republican bill ░░░░░░░░ feed me tonight and ░░░░░░░░ voted no What s ░░░░░░░░ on here I thought ░░░░░░░░ guys were supposed to ░░░░░░░░ on my side And ░░░░░░░░ think uh Republicans probably ░░░░░░░░ to make that point ░░░░░░░░ little more loudly and ░░░░░░░░ think a lot of ░░░░░░░░ might be quite surprised ░░░░░░░░ hear it gt gt ░░░░░░░░ I think not to ░░░░░░░░ that So you can ░░░░░░░░ the Democrats but Donald ░░░░░░░░ s president uh and ░░░░░░░░ party is in control ░░░░░░░░ could have made sure ░░░░░░░░ these benefits went through ░░░░░░░░ again as I said ░░░░░░░░ ago and they chose ░░░░░░░░ to do that I ░░░░░░░░ on that for I ░░░░░░░░ got about four minutes ░░░░░░░░ here I want to ░░░░░░░░ to this right quick ░░░░░░░░ ll get to the running on Republican issues ░░░░░░░░ I think he deserves ░░░░░░░░ support of of Republicans ░░░░░░░░ voters who believe in ░░░░░░░░ he does And then ░░░░░░░░ ve got other people ░░░░░░░░ are saying well you ░░░░░░░░ quote unquote he can ░░░░░░░░ win vote for Cuomo ░░░░░░░░ he s a far ░░░░░░░░ Democrat but he s ░░░░░░░░ a Marxist Democratic socialist ░░░░░░░░ term you want to ░░░░░░░░ Uh and so there ░░░░░░░░ some division on the ░░░░░░░░ And I ve had ░░░░░░░░ with people I ve ░░░░░░░░ for many years some ░░░░░░░░ whom are sticking with ░░░░░░░░ some of whom are ░░░░░░░░ with Cuomo Uh one ░░░░░░░░ my concerns about Andrew ░░░░░░░░ is what he was ░░░░░░░░ behavior during uh CO ░░░░░░░░ when he forced um ░░░░░░░░ positive seniors to go ░░░░░░░░ into nursing homes and ░░░░░░░░ healthy seniors who were ░░░░░░░░ infected suddenly got infected ░░░░░░░░ about 12 700 of ░░░░░░░░ died Just awful And ░░░░░░░░ I think to me ░░░░░░░░ s a dealer When ░░░░░░░░ re responsible for the ░░░░░░░░ of almost 13 000 ░░░░░░░░ you shouldn t be ░░░░░░░░ for office You ought ░░░░░░░░ be indicted for negligent ░░░░░░░░ So I think Cuomo ░░░░░░░░ to get out of ░░░░░░░░ race and just have ░░░░░░░░ two man race between ░░░░░░░░ Dani Mdani and Sivwa ░░░░░░░░ people have a very ░░░░░░░░ choice of going left ░░░░░░░░ going right And I ░░░░░░░░ like elections We ve ░░░░░░░░ a clear choice rather filed lawsuits and we ░░░░░░░░ been winning those lawsuits ░░░░░░░░ of fact you know ░░░░░░░░ just won one uh ░░░░░░░░ on yesterday You know ░░░░░░░░ the the judge says ░░░░░░░░ what this administration is ░░░░░░░░ is absolutely wrong But ░░░░░░░░ then the shutdown come ░░░░░░░░ as a result of ░░░░░░░░ shutdown you know people ░░░░░░░░ beginning to get to ░░░░░░░░ point to where they live from paycheck to ░░░░░░░░ And the members that ░░░░░░░░ represent they re no ░░░░░░░░ And so my objective ░░░░░░░░ to try to get ░░░░░░░░ sides talking so that ░░░░░░░░ can get government workers ░░░░░░░░ to the job and ░░░░░░░░ services that the American ░░░░░░░░ deserve and that they ░░░░░░░░ can be provided gt ░░░░░░░░ So I I hear ░░░░░░░░ point about wanting um ░░░░░░░░ to move in a ░░░░░░░░ that would help get ░░░░░░░░ two sides talking But ░░░░░░░░ you well know part ░░░░░░░░ the Republican strategy Everett ░░░░░░░░ Mr Kelly has been ░░░░░░░░ one to stay out ░░░░░░░░ session So members are feeling how ░░░░░░░░ you respond to those ░░░░░░░░ say that this decision ░░░░░░░░ you yesterday sold out ░░░░░░░░ gt gt It has ░░░░░░░░ to do with Democrats ░░░░░░░░ Republicans It has to
