McBRIDE I think voters ░░░░░░░░ like Democrats have sort ░░░░░░░░ been assholes to them ░░░░░░░░ I do think that ░░░░░░░░ voter asks two questions ░░░░░░░░ they re considering who ░░░░░░░░ vote for The first ░░░░░░░░ is does this candidate ░░░░░░░░ this party like me ░░░░░░░░ by extension do they ░░░░░░░░ me do they care ░░░░░░░░ me But do they ░░░░░░░░ me If you can ░░░░░░░░ answer that first question ░░░░░░░░ a voter satisfaction They ░░░░░░░░ t even get to ░░░░░░░░ second question which is ░░░░░░░░ does this party think ░░░░░░░░ does this candidate think ░░░░░░░░ I think we ve ░░░░░░░░ that first question BURNS ░░░░░░░░ s so interesting because ░░░░░░░░ one of the questions ░░░░░░░░ have for you is ░░░░░░░░ of this recent polling ░░░░░░░░ shows that the Democrats ░░░░░░░░ know are at their ░░░░░░░░ approval rating in like ░░░░░░░░ decades and that s ░░░░░░░░ economy inflation tariffs despite ░░░░░░░░ of Trump s policies ░░░░░░░░ being pretty unpopular So ░░░░░░░░ am curious like do ░░░░░░░░ think Democrats have been ░░░░░░░░ to people and is ░░░░░░░░ why the party s ░░░░░░░░ is at such a ░░░░░░░░ point McBRIDE I think ░░░░░░░░ the polling is a ░░░░░░░░ of two things I ░░░░░░░░ it s a it ░░░░░░░░ a sort of it ░░░░░░░░ a receding of support ░░░░░░░░ both sides right among ░░░░░░░░ left and to our ░░░░░░░░ And I think they ░░░░░░░░ different reasons for different ░░░░░░░░ in polling But I ░░░░░░░░ think that we have ░░░░░░░░ basically create a tent ░░░░░░░░ is united on three ░░░░░░░░ principles One is working ░░░░░░░░ need more support and ░░░░░░░░ Two democracy and freedom ░░░░░░░░ good And three we ░░░░░░░░ not gonna be assholes ░░░░░░░░ voters Look the reality ░░░░░░░░ today s environment is ░░░░░░░░ your party ecosystem is ░░░░░░░░ not just by politicians ░░░░░░░░ the party but also ░░░░░░░░ of the loudest voices ░░░░░░░░ that in voters minds ░░░░░░░░ and represent that broader ░░░░░░░░ In a world where ░░░░░░░░ voters get their news ░░░░░░░░ when we have an ░░░░░░░░ where we got some ░░░░░░░░ loud people who are ░░░░░░░░ and calling people who ░░░░░░░░ with them even just ░░░░░░░░ rhetoric bigots when we ░░░░░░░░ those folks saying that ░░░░░░░░ a wide swath of ░░░░░░░░ including voters we could ░░░░░░░░ and we aren t ░░░░░░░░ stating something to the ░░░░░░░░ then a voter will ░░░░░░░░ just paint us all ░░░░░░░░ one broad brush.”
