LEMIRE Mr Representative for ░░░░░░░░ cycles now it s ░░░░░░░░ Democrats dream to turn ░░░░░░░░ blue that has not ░░░░░░░░ yet And now there ░░░░░░░░ an effort as we ░░░░░░░░ discussed last block with ░░░░░░░░ Martin of Politico where ░░░░░░░░ Trump has suggested that ░░░░░░░░ should be some redistricting ░░░░░░░░ in that state to ░░░░░░░░ create more Republican seats ░░░░░░░░ in his thoughts to ░░░░░░░░ GOP in control of ░░░░░░░░ House Walk our viewers ░░░░░░░░ just what that effort ░░░░░░░░ look like why you ░░░░░░░░ it s dangerous and ░░░░░░░░ Democrats in Texas do ░░░░░░░░ to stop it TALARICO ░░░░░░░░ you know I m ░░░░░░░░ eighth generation Texan My ░░░░░░░░ has been here since ░░░░░░░░ was Mexico I love ░░░░░░░░ state deeply I know ░░░░░░░░ party wants to turn ░░░░░░░░ blue I know Republicans ░░░░░░░░ to keep Texas red ░░░░░░░░ I honestly think the ░░░░░░░░ color for this state ░░░░░░░░ purple because competitive elections ░░░░░░░░ all politicians on their ░░░░░░░░ It forces elected officials ░░░░░░░░ serve everybody not just ░░░░░░░░ most extreme elements of ░░░░░░░░ party in a primary ░░░░░░░░ Unfortunately President Trump is ░░░░░░░░ to rig the next ░░░░░░░░ here in Texas He ░░░░░░░░ his Republican allies in ░░░░░░░░ C just passed the ░░░░░░░░ transfer of wealth in ░░░░░░░░ history with their Big ░░░░░░░░ Bill I mean literally ░░░░░░░░ millions of people including ░░░░░░░░ of Texans off their ░░░░░░░░ care to fund tax ░░░░░░░░ for billionaires They know ░░░░░░░░ s unpopular I mean ░░░░░░░░ can read polling like ░░░░░░░░ else but they don ░░░░░░░░ care because they have ░░░░░░░░ plan Trump just told ░░░░░░░░ governor to redraw the ░░░░░░░░ maps in Texas to ░░░░░░░░ our districts and turn ░░░░░░░░ into crazy shapes so ░░░░░░░░ can guarantee the outcome ░░░░░░░░ want regardless of how ░░░░░░░░ vote And that should ░░░░░░░░ alarming to all of ░░░░░░░░ whether you re a ░░░░░░░░ or a Republican or ░░░░░░░░ independent We don t ░░░░░░░░ politicians picking their voters ░░░░░░░░ want voters picking their ░░░░░░░░ I mean that s ░░░░░░░░ democracy is supposed to ░░░░░░░░ And if they succeed ░░░░░░░░ this power grab here ░░░░░░░░ Texas they re going ░░░░░░░░ do it across the ░░░░░░░░ They re going to ░░░░░░░░ the 2026 midterms And ░░░░░░░░ means that they won ░░░░░░░░ have to fear voters ░░░░░░░░ again They can enrich ░░░░░░░░ and their donors with ░░░░░░░░ without consequences without accountability ░░░░░░░░ that s not how ░░░░░░░░ democratic process is supposed ░░░░░░░░ work So I hope ░░░░░░░░ Texans regardless of their ░░░░░░░░ can stand up against ░░░░░░░░ and tell politicians not ░░░░░░░░ silence our voices and ░░░░░░░░ the next election.”
