[Clip starts MAMDANI With ░░░░░░░░ vision of a city ░░░░░░░░ every New Yorker could ░░░░░░░░ UNKNOWN That s right ░░░░░░░░ We have won It ░░░░░░░░ where the mayor will ░░░░░░░░ their power to reject ░░░░░░░░ Trump s fascism to ░░░░░░░░ masked ICE agents from ░░░░░░░░ our neighbors cheers and ░░░░░░░░ And to govern our ░░░░░░░░ as a model for ░░░░░░░░ Democratic Party Clip ends ░░░░░░░░ It was nothing less ░░░░░░░░ a political earthquake a ░░░░░░░░ result in New York ░░░░░░░░ last night with the ░░░░░░░░ you just saw Zohran ░░░░░░░░ now poised to be ░░░░░░░░ Democratic Party s nominee ░░░░░░░░ be New York City ░░░░░░░░ next mayor Mamdani who ░░░░░░░░ himself as a Democratic ░░░░░░░░ is just 33 years ░░░░░░░░ He is currently serving ░░░░░░░░ the state assembly His ░░░░░░░░ focused heavily on New ░░░░░░░░ City s affordability crisis ░░░░░░░░ well as public safety ░░░░░░░░ elected mayor in November ░░░░░░░░ would be the city ░░░░░░░░ first Muslim mayor He ░░░░░░░░ set to face Eric ░░░░░░░░ in the general election ░░░░░░░░ is running as an ░░░░░░░░ Mamdani s victory was ░░░░░░░░ a couple of months ░░░░░░░░ thanks in part to ░░░░░░░░ New York Governor Andrew ░░░░░░░░ s candidacy Mamdani was ░░░░░░░░ in the polling for ░░░░░░░░ of the race Cuomo ░░░░░░░░ will likely finish second ░░░░░░░░ voting conceded to him ░░░░░░░░ night We re back ░░░░░░░░ Tim and Basil Tim ░░░░░░░░ know you just interviewed ░░░░░░░░ Your thoughts and your ░░░░░░░░ MILLER Yeah Look I ░░░░░░░░ that his politics is ░░░░░░░░ going to be closer ░░░░░░░░ Basil s than to ░░░░░░░░ but I think this ░░░░░░░░ be a massive wake ░░░░░░░░ call for the Democratic ░░░░░░░░ Andrew Cuomo these guys ░░░░░░░░ the wagons around Andrew ░░░░░░░░ Somebody had to resign ░░░░░░░░ disgrace Someone that was ░░░░░░░░ sex pest What was ░░░░░░░░ Rationale for that They ░░░░░░░░ so And he spent ░░░░░░░░ million on TV to ░░░░░░░░ or he had a ░░░░░░░░ PAC that spent 25 ░░░░░░░░ to obviously no effect ░░░░░░░░ he ran a campaign ░░░░░░░░ of 1998 And you ░░░░░░░░ that we ve seen ░░░░░░░░ much of that from ░░░░░░░░ Democratic establishment And so ░░░░░░░░ here you have this ░░░░░░░░ guy Zohran Mamdani who ░░░░░░░░ a campaign for 2025 ░░░░░░░░ was focused on costs ░░░░░░░░ we were talking about ░░░░░░░░ the first segment That ░░░░░░░░ what everybody cares about ░░░░░░░░ matter what your ideology ░░░░░░░░ right now He s ░░░░░░░░ on costs He was ░░░░░░░░ He was affable He ░░░░░░░░ the entire length of ░░░░░░░░ I think it was ░░░░░░░░ Friday or Saturday you ░░░░░░░░ while Cuomo was running ░░░░░░░░ Rose Garden campaign or ░░░░░░░░ the equivalent of that ░░░░░░░░ in New York You ░░░░░░░░ man of the people ░░░░░░░░ people yell at him ░░░░░░░░ people disagree with him ░░░░░░░░ as you mentioned at ░░░░░░░░ top he came on ░░░░░░░░ podcast and look he ░░░░░░░░ coming on that I ░░░░░░░░ a former Republican and ░░░░░░░░ capitalist that we were ░░░░░░░░ to disagree And I ░░░░░░░░ him about his you ░░░░░░░░ bunch of stuff I ░░░░░░░░ with him on whether ░░░░░░░░ s the city run ░░░░░░░░ stores or you know ░░░░░░░░ of the other DSA ░░░░░░░░ like the one in ░░░░░░░░ who s not done ░░░░░░░░ great job or anti ░░░░░░░░ on the left I ░░░░░░░░ him about all that ░░░░░░░░ He came on Some ░░░░░░░░ were better than others ░░░░░░░░ he was he was ░░░░░░░░ He was comfortable He ░░░░░░░░ affable We laughed He ░░░░░░░░ able to make jokes ░░░░░░░░ didn t sound like ░░░░░░░░ politician Like that s ░░░░░░░░ you run a campaign ░░░░░░░░ 2025 You know show ░░░░░░░░ class people you care ░░░░░░░░ them Be authentically yourself ░░░░░░░░ optimistic Be a person ░░░░░░░░ a politician for the ░░░░░░░░ And I think that ░░░░░░░░ Democrat could do that ░░░░░░░░ matter what their ideology ░░░░░░░░ He just happens to ░░░░░░░░ you know on the ░░░░░░░░ side of the party ░░░░░░░░ you know we ll ░░░░░░░░ how he is as ░░░░░░░░ mayor But his campaign ░░░░░░░░ me should be a ░░░░░░░░ and I understand and ░░░░░░░░ can see why there ░░░░░░░░ a lot of folks ░░░░░░░░ share his politics that ░░░░░░░░ really excited about.”
