K which left 10 ░░░░░░░░ in place So we ░░░░░░░░ really good about the ░░░░░░░░ You ve heard the ░░░░░░░░ minister he feels really ░░░░░░░░ about the deal right ░░░░░░░░ we started at 10 ░░░░░░░░ we ended at 10 ░░░░░░░░ the market for America ░░░░░░░░ better And joining me ░░░░░░░░ is Democratic Congressman Robert ░░░░░░░░ of California member of ░░░░░░░░ House Oversight Committee and ░░░░░░░░ Security Committee Congressman your ░░░░░░░░ on Trump s tariff ░░░░░░░░ and its impact on ░░░░░░░░ economy and your constituents ░░░░░░░░ thank you I mean ░░░░░░░░ I think Donald Trump ░░░░░░░░ causing nothing but complete ░░░░░░░░ Uh that stunt in ░░░░░░░░ Oval Office is actually ░░░░░░░░ little to stop the ░░░░░░░░ of these tariffs We ░░░░░░░░ that tariffs are attacks ░░░░░░░░ the American people and ░░░░░░░░ American public Uh I ░░░░░░░░ here across the street ░░░░░░░░ now the port of ░░░░░░░░ Beach and Los Angeles ░░░░░░░░ are the single largest ░░░░░░░░ in the United States ░░░░░░░░ of all American goods ░░░░░░░░ coming into Long Beach ░░░░░░░░ Los Angeles And I ░░░░░░░░ telling you that right ░░░░░░░░ what s coming back ░░░░░░░░ 30 to 35 less ░░░░░░░░ of Donald Trump s ░░░░░░░░ We re having empty ░░░░░░░░ containers coming back Truck ░░░░░░░░ are losing shifts Dock ░░░░░░░░ are having to go ░░░░░░░░ They re happy if ░░░░░░░░ re able to even ░░░░░░░░ a shift out of ░░░░░░░░ a day This is ░░░░░░░░ incredible damage not just ░░░░░░░░ the national economy But ░░░░░░░░ s going to come ░░░░░░░░ the American consumer in ░░░░░░░░ weeks and months ahead ░░░░░░░░ increased prices and empty ░░░░░░░░ of some of Americans ░░░░░░░░ goods And so this ░░░░░░░░ a real crisis that ░░░░░░░░ beginning to happen here ░░░░░░░░ this country And Donald ░░░░░░░░ should re reverse all ░░░░░░░░ tariffs immediately Can you ░░░░░░░░ me into the lives ░░░░░░░░ some of your constituents ░░░░░░░░ re going to see ░░░░░░░░ changes before many other ░░░░░░░░ do What does that ░░░░░░░░ for their daily lives ░░░░░░░░ famil family s ability ░░░░░░░░ put food on the ░░░░░░░░ So I I ve ░░░░░░░░ talking to a lot ░░░░░░░░ workers here in Long ░░░░░░░░ in the harbor area ░░░░░░░░ I m talking to ░░░░░░░░ drivers These truck drivers ░░░░░░░░ work hard workingclass people ░░░░░░░░ they re putting food ░░░░░░░░ the family s table ░░░░░░░░ they are seeing their ░░░░░░░░ reduced Normally a truck ░░░░░░░░ could come in and ░░░░░░░░ of the port could ░░░░░░░░ four times a day ░░░░░░░░ they re lucky five ░░░░░░░░ a day on a ░░░░░░░░ day Some of these ░░░░░░░░ drivers today are getting ░░░░░░░░ shifts coming in and ░░░░░░░░ of the port That ░░░░░░░░ devastating for their revenue ░░░░░░░░ re seeing their ability ░░░░░░░░ make money slashed dramatically ░░░░░░░░ re seeing now layoffs ░░░░░░░░ are happening in warehouses ░░░░░░░░ the Southern California region ░░░░░░░░ re seeing in Northern ░░░░░░░░ around the the the ░░░░░░░░ port the same types ░░░░░░░░ things happening And what ░░░░░░░░ don t understand is ░░░░░░░░ re feeling the immediate ░░░░░░░░ now real impacts to ░░░░░░░░ drivers dock workers factory ░░░░░░░░ But what this really ░░░░░░░░ is increased costs of ░░░░░░░░ for the entire country ░░░░░░░░ the months ahead And ░░░░░░░░ people need to understand ░░░░░░░░ it is the chaos ░░░░░░░░ uncertainty that is causing ░░░░░░░░ ex exporters and imports ░░░░░░░░ to shut down We ░░░░░░░░ essentially making decisions right ░░░░░░░░ based on inaccurate information ░░░░░░░░ tariffs that are changing ░░░░░░░░ one day to the ░░░░░░░░ And so uh the ░░░░░░░░ chain is in complete ░░░░░░░░ right now And everyone ░░░░░░░░ be concerned because this ░░░░░░░░ impact every American I ░░░░░░░░ to ask you to ░░░░░░░░ you ve seen the ░░░░░░░░ coming out of Newark ░░░░░░░░ the arrest of Mayor ░░░░░░░░ Baraka and some of ░░░░░░░░ you know your colleagues ░░░░░░░░ there on the ground ░░░░░░░░ him in this incredible ░░░░░░░░ Um you know we ░░░░░░░░ a congressman right there ░░░░░░░░ the center sort of ░░░░░░░░ in in this tugofwar ░░░░░░░░ officials on the ground ░░░░░░░░ What s your reaction ░░░░░░░░ to this and what ░░░░░░░░ arrest represents This is ░░░░░░░░ shameful and outrageous Members ░░░░░░░░ Congress have a right ░░░░░░░░ visit these facilities Um ░░░░░░░░ happens all the time ░░░░░░░░ for this to happen ░░░░░░░░ the mayor and to ░░░░░░░░ people all all of ░░░░░░░░ I know and respect ░░░░░░░░ is is a is ░░░░░░░░ dark dark day for ░░░░░░░░ country Members of Congress ░░░░░░░░ the right to do ░░░░░░░░ and to visit these ░░░░░░░░ And the way I ░░░░░░░░ you know for example ░░░░░░░░ Watson Coleman there Congresswoman ░░░░░░░░ all the other congresswoman ░░░░░░░░ Congressman that are there ░░░░░░░░ Mendez that I see ░░░░░░░░ This is just horrific ░░░░░░░░ ░░░░░░░░ creating her own immigration ░░░░░░░░ She s not following ░░░░░░░░ Constitution They re deporting ░░░░░░░░ that don t have ░░░░░░░░ right to due process ░░░░░░░░ they re sending people ░░░░░░░░ these facilities that essentially ░░░░░░░░ gotten no day in ░░░░░░░░ They have had their ░░░░░░░░ process stripped from them ░░░░░░░░ so we we ve ░░░░░░░░ to speak up It ░░░░░░░░ unconsionable that the mayor ░░░░░░░░ get arrested this way ░░░░░░░░ so we are going ░░░░░░░░ call this out Secretary ░░░░░░░░ will be in front ░░░░░░░░ our committee in Homeland ░░░░░░░░ this week
