░░░░░░░░ re not doing that ░░░░░░░░ Would you veto that ░░░░░░░░ would if they were ░░░░░░░░ it but they re ░░░░░░░░ cutting it They re ░░░░░░░░ at fraud waste and ░░░░░░░░ And nobody minds that ░░░░░░░░ uh illegal immigrants are ░░░░░░░░ the mix if people ░░░░░░░░ aren t supposed to ░░░░░░░░ there people that are ░░░░░░░░ citizens are in the ░░░░░░░░ nobody minds that Waste ░░░░░░░░ and abuse but we ░░░░░░░░ not cutting Medicaid we ░░░░░░░░ not cutting Medicare and ░░░░░░░░ re not cutting Social ░░░░░░░░ So the president telling ░░░░░░░░ Welker there from Meet ░░░░░░░░ Press they re not ░░░░░░░░ those things There was ░░░░░░░░ uh a CBO Congressional ░░░░░░░░ Office review of the ░░░░░░░░ so far And according ░░░░░░░░ Senator Ron Weiden a ░░░░░░░░ from Oregon this analysis ░░░░░░░░ the nonpartisan independent CBO ░░░░░░░░ straightforward The Republican plan ░░░░░░░░ health care means benefit ░░░░░░░░ and terminated health insurance ░░░░░░░░ millions of Americans who ░░░░░░░░ count on Medicaid So ░░░░░░░░ do they get this ░░░░░░░░ beautiful bill done and ░░░░░░░░ cut And is it ░░░░░░░░ that we should all ░░░░░░░░ concerned about Let s ░░░░░░░░ to our guest Droy be with ░░░░░░░░ again Eddie You know ░░░░░░░░ you heard about this ░░░░░░░░ taking place right now ░░░░░░░░ the possibility of Medicaid ░░░░░░░░ in order to get ░░░░░░░░ big beautiful bill the ░░░░░░░░ tax cuts paid for ░░░░░░░░ Republicans they got to ░░░░░░░░ something out What do ░░░░░░░░ think Yeah it s ░░░░░░░░ interesting You know right ░░░░░░░░ uh President Trump was ░░░░░░░░ within hours the Democrats ░░░░░░░░ Oh they want to ░░░░░░░░ Medicaid They want to ░░░░░░░░ Medicaid and just screaming ░░░░░░░░ top tops of their ░░░░░░░░ And a lot of ░░░░░░░░ look at ourselves like ░░░░░░░░ the radio and people ░░░░░░░░ in uh Capitol Hill ░░░░░░░░ What are you talking ░░░░░░░░ We re not talking ░░░░░░░░ cutting Medicaid And so ░░░░░░░░ think in a sense ░░░░░░░░ the Democrats who are ░░░░░░░░ crafty people very cleverly ░░░░░░░░ the uh Republicans in ░░░░░░░░ situation that sort of ░░░░░░░░ know backed in the ░░░░░░░░ said we re not ░░░░░░░░ to cut Medicaid And ░░░░░░░░ there s some question ░░░░░░░░ you know can they ░░░░░░░░ for this big big ░░░░░░░░ beautiful bill without doing ░░░░░░░░ And whether it involves ░░░░░░░░ able to pay for ░░░░░░░░ big beautiful bill or ░░░░░░░░ should there be some ░░░░░░░░ of Medicaid And I ░░░░░░░░ think there are some ░░░░░░░░ smart things that the ░░░░░░░░ ought to do uh ░░░░░░░░ um get the get ░░░░░░░░ entire program uh refocused ░░░░░░░░ the truly needy people ░░░░░░░░ this country Uh this ░░░░░░░░ program was launched originally ░░░░░░░░ help uh pregnant women ░░░░░░░░ poor children low income ░░░░░░░░ and disabled people Uh ░░░░░░░░ now I m doing ░░░░░░░░ research on this writing ░░░░░░░░ this at the moment ░░░░░░░░ Medicaid covered I think ░░░░░░░░ year 83 million people ░░░░░░░░ s almost exactly one ░░░░░░░░ of the country 25 ░░░░░░░░ the entire US population ░░░░░░░░ this thing is much ░░░░░░░░ much bigger than it ░░░░░░░░ ever intended to be ░░░░░░░░ so I think there ░░░░░░░░ some smart things the ░░░░░░░░ can do that won ░░░░░░░░ involve cutting uh the ░░░░░░░░ in a way that ░░░░░░░░ Democrats scream and yell ░░░░░░░░ Uh number one going ░░░░░░░░ legal aliens If you ░░░░░░░░ an illegal alien and ░░░░░░░░ broke into this country ░░░░░░░░ you don t belong ░░░░░░░░ you sure as hell ░░░░░░░░ not be getting Medicaid ░░░░░░░░ chewing up money that ░░░░░░░░ be going to uh ░░░░░░░░ folks who are very ░░░░░░░░ kids who are poor ░░░░░░░░ people who are disabled ░░░░░░░░ have you I think ░░░░░░░░ s something that um ░░░░░░░░ I would imagine 70 ░░░░░░░░ of Americans agree with ░░░░░░░░ And if the Democrats ░░░░░░░░ to stand up and ░░░░░░░░ no no we want ░░░░░░░░ give Medicaid to illegal ░░░░░░░░ Uh Republicans should give ░░░░░░░░ free microphones purchase microphones ░░░░░░░░ here talking to this ░░░░░░░░ and talk about that ░░░░░░░░ loudly as you can ░░░░░░░░ as long as possible ░░░░░░░░ the American people will ░░░░░░░░ away and disgust Uh ░░░░░░░░ think u fraud is ░░░░░░░░ one Um according to ░░░░░░░░ government accountability office fiscal ░░░░░░░░ 2023 uh Medicaid improper ░░░░░░░░ added up to 50 ░░░░░░░░ billion 50 3 billion ░░░░░░░░ just fiscal year 2023 ░░░░░░░░ improper payments could be ░░░░░░░░ a wrong procedural code ░░░░░░░░ maybe there s a ░░░░░░░░ doctor s signature or ░░░░░░░░ like this But you ░░░░░░░░ let s assume 10 ░░░░░░░░ this involves actual you ░░░░░░░░ fake patients and phony ░░░░░░░░ clinics getting uh quote ░░░░░░░░ treatment from non existent ░░░░░░░░ Right there 10 of ░░░░░░░░ is 5 billion That ░░░░░░░░ a significant amount of ░░░░░░░░ And of course if ░░░░░░░░ s higher than 10 ░░░░░░░░ s 10 It s ░░░░░░░░ bigger number than that ░░░░░░░░ and I think work ░░░░░░░░ are a great idea ░░░░░░░░ is something this you ░░░░░░░░ crazy right wing fascist ░░░░░░░░ of work requirements is ░░░░░░░░ originally advocated by Bill ░░░░░░░░ uh back when he ░░░░░░░░ welfare reform in the ░░░░░░░░ The idea was listen ░░░░░░░░ you re going to ░░░░░░░░ welfare and you re ░░░░░░░░ bodied and and you ░░░░░░░░ can you know get ░░░░░░░░ of bed and do ░░░░░░░░ then you ought to ░░░░░░░░ some kind of work ░░░░░░░░ some kind of training ░░░░░░░░ classes or do something ░░░░░░░░ try to make yourself ░░░░░░░░ prepared to be part ░░░░░░░░ the workforce And in ░░░░░░░░ you ll get your ░░░░░░░░ benefits And I think ░░░░░░░░ do say the same ░░░░░░░░ to people uh who ░░░░░░░░ able bodied or getting ░░░░░░░░ You know if you ░░░░░░░░ capable of doing any ░░░░░░░░ of work uh if ░░░░░░░░ don t have kids ░░░░░░░░ re childless and you ░░░░░░░░ able bodied you ought ░░░░░░░░ be doing some kind ░░░░░░░░ work or taking some ░░░░░░░░ and training um there ░░░░░░░░ some Republicans saying Look ░░░░░░░░ if you volunteer just ░░░░░░░░ something You see get ░░░░░░░░ of the house go ░░░░░░░░ be part of the ░░░░░░░░ or or part of ░░░░░░░░ part of the population ░░░░░░░░ s actually going out ░░░░░░░░ and doing something And ░░░░░░░░ at some point before ░░░░░░░░ long you ll say ░░░░░░░░ know what I kind ░░░░░░░░ like this uh job ░░░░░░░░ like working at this ░░░░░░░░ nonprofit agency I m ░░░░░░░░ learning about uh welding ░░░░░░░░ carpentry or whatever it ░░░░░░░░ be And then you ░░░░░░░░ off of Medicaid and ░░░░░░░░ go get yourself a ░░░░░░░░ and get on to ░░░░░░░░ health insurance And slowly ░░░░░░░░ but surely you ll ░░░░░░░░ the population of people ░░░░░░░░ Medicaid decrease in this ░░░░░░░░ be a much smaller ░░░░░░░░ on the taxpayers than ░░░░░░░░ is today I think ░░░░░░░░ can do those sorts ░░░░░░░░ things and say to ░░░░░░░░ American people look you ░░░░░░░░ we re not chopping ░░░░░░░░ and throwing people into ░░░░░░░░ ocean as as the ░░░░░░░░ like to claim Uh ░░░░░░░░ re doing sensible things ░░░░░░░░ take a a big ░░░░░░░░ of control program and ░░░░░░░░ it to its original ░░░░░░░░ which is something designed ░░░░░░░░ the truly needy not ░░░░░░░░ quarter of the US ░░░░░░░░ So if we if ░░░░░░░░ Republicans if the congressional ░░░░░░░░ go on the Droy ░░░░░░░░ plan and they get ░░░░░░░░ of it for illegal ░░░░░░░░ they find the fraud ░░░░░░░░ and and weed it ░░░░░░░░ and they implement the ░░░░░░░░ requirements Politically are the ░░░░░░░░ still going to take ░░░░░░░░ three things and say ░░░░░░░░ cut Medicaid You know ░░░░░░░░ always will Look I ░░░░░░░░ the the Republican Party ░░░░░░░░ increase the Medicaid budget ░░░░░░░░ by 10 and and ░░░░░░░░ you know another 15 ░░░░░░░░ 000 illegal aliens on ░░░░░░░░ the Democrats will still ░░░░░░░░ oh my God they ░░░░░░░░ chopping this program The ░░░░░░░░ always say that because ░░░░░░░░ re they re deeply ░░░░░░░░ people But I think ░░░░░░░░ the GOP can respond ░░░░░░░░ explain this is what ░░░░░░░░ re doing We re ░░░░░░░░ taking Granny and throwing ░░░░░░░░ her in the Bermuda ░░░░░░░░ In fact we re ░░░░░░░░ saying look if you ░░░░░░░░ legally alien you don ░░░░░░░░ belong on the on ░░░░░░░░ Medicare Medicaid roles If ░░░░░░░░ re a fraudster you ░░░░░░░░ to be in jail ░░░░░░░░ collecting uh taxpayer dollars ░░░░░░░░ Medicaid And uh if ░░░░░░░░ re able to work ░░░░░░░░ you re able bodied ░░░░░░░░ should you know leave ░░░░░░░░ house uh maybe not ░░░░░░░░ hours a week maybe ░░░░░░░░ maybe 15 and do ░░░░░░░░ that might give you ░░░░░░░░ opportunity to join the ░░░░░░░░ and not be on ░░░░░░░░ And I think like ░░░░░░░░ say 75 80 of ░░░░░░░░ American people say you ░░░░░░░░ what that makes sense ░░░░░░░░ ll buy that Yeah ░░░░░░░░ I think it it ░░░░░░░░ s a it s ░░░░░░░░ very credible and sensible ░░░░░░░░ wise argument the GOP ░░░░░░░░ make if they stand ░░░░░░░░ and make it And ░░░░░░░░ think if the Democrats ░░░░░░░░ the opposite just scream ░░░░░░░░ ill you know we ░░░░░░░░ want illegal aliens uh ░░░░░░░░ the program We want ░░░░░░░░ fraud to continue We ░░░░░░░░ t want anybody to ░░░░░░░░ Great You know I ░░░░░░░░ I I would love ░░░░░░░░ see every Democrat get ░░░░░░░░ and say that non ░░░░░░░░ between now and the ░░░░░░░░ elections It ll just ░░░░░░░░ their support even even ░░░░░░░░ more severely than it ░░░░░░░░ dissolved already I would ░░░░░░░░ that those those things ░░░░░░░░ you listed there would ░░░░░░░░ maneuvers that the congressional ░░░░░░░░ and Democrats if they ░░░░░░░░ like to come along ░░░░░░░░ m sure that would ░░░░░░░░ Granny from having to ░░░░░░░░ thrown into the Bermuda ░░░░░░░░ down the line because ░░░░░░░░ is no money It ░░░░░░░░ t funded because it ░░░░░░░░ been you know lost ░░░░░░░░ fraud and abuse or ░░░░░░░░ we ve overextended ourselves ░░░░░░░░ much that we can ░░░░░░░░ meet our obligation that ░░░░░░░░ of these things have ░░░░░░░░ happen in order to ░░░░░░░░ the people who are ░░░░░░░░ and to be able ░░░░░░░░ provide for them in ░░░░░░░░ future Uh yeah absolutely ░░░░░░░░ mean look the the ░░░░░░░░ should like this sort ░░░░░░░░ stuff because this takes ░░░░░░░░ of people who really ░░░░░░░░ unable to leave their ░░░░░░░░ homes or really in ░░░░░░░░ bedridden are desperately ill ░░░░░░░░ can t take care ░░░░░░░░ themselves And if you ░░░░░░░░ look you know we ░░░░░░░░ going to take the ░░░░░░░░ who engage in fraud ░░░░░░░░ them in prison and ░░░░░░░░ that money to help ░░░░░░░░ who are in wheelchairs ░░░░░░░░ you know uh immobilized ░░░░░░░░ under respirators or whatever ░░░░░░░░ it might be and ░░░░░░░░ those people who cannot ░░░░░░░░ care of themselves the ░░░░░░░░ help that they desperately ░░░░░░░░ and and not help ░░░░░░░░ the people who have ░░░░░░░░ into this country without ░░░░░░░░ permission or papers Uh ░░░░░░░░ other people who actually ░░░░░░░░ get benefits but you ░░░░░░░░ they got to do ░░░░░░░░ something productive Uh you ░░░░░░░░ this is this is ░░░░░░░░ for the system This ░░░░░░░░ good for people who ░░░░░░░░ need help By the ░░░░░░░░ there s another aspect ░░░░░░░░ this that some Republicans ░░░░░░░░ thinking of which is ░░░░░░░░ importing uh the uh ░░░░░░░░ government set prices for ░░░░░░░░ like you have to ░░░░░░░░ national health service or ░░░░░░░░ other big government socialized ░░░░░░░░ systems and basically imposing ░░░░░░░░ foreign prices on the ░░░░░░░░ pharmaceutical industry That would ░░░░░░░░ very bad for innovation ░░░░░░░░ bad for um uh ░░░░░░░░ future of of modern ░░░░░░░░ in this country And ░░░░░░░░ much better idea is ░░░░░░░░ say to those foreign ░░░░░░░░ overseas look you people ░░░░░░░░ been sponging off of ░░░░░░░░ Uh you basically keep ░░░░░░░░ prices low forcing uh ░░░░░░░░ and Lily and Merc ░░░░░░░░ raise their prices in ░░░░░░░░ US to make up ░░░░░░░░ um the the low ░░░░░░░░ are forced to pay ░░░░░░░░ forced to collect over ░░░░░░░░ Much the same way ░░░░░░░░ people go to drugstores ░░░░░░░░ and they got to ░░░░░░░░ higher prices because the ░░░░░░░░ come in and clean ░░░░░░░░ stores out So they ░░░░░░░░ up the prices on ░░░░░░░░ law abiding consumers Um ░░░░░░░░ this is called Most ░░░░░░░░ Nation Has a delightful ░░░░░░░░ Most Favored Nation sounds ░░░░░░░░ but it really is ░░░░░░░░ importing uh a socialist ░░░░░░░░ uh drug pricing scheme ░░░░░░░░ what it is And ░░░░░░░░ GOP should not be ░░░░░░░░ that What they should ░░░░░░░░ doing is telling the ░░░░░░░░ um medicine systems overseas ░░░░░░░░ if you want American ░░░░░░░░ you need to pay ░░░░░░░░ prices Period Yeah I ░░░░░░░░ I think there s ░░░░░░░░
