BALLASY You handle a ░░░░░░░░ of tough questions on ░░░░░░░░ and I saw a ░░░░░░░░ you may be considering ░░░░░░░░ Senate run Is that ░░░░░░░░ Are you considering that ░░░░░░░░ Man Internet s a ░░░░░░░░ place Long way until ░░░░░░░░ May BALLASY It is ░░░░░░░░ long way JENNINGS Yeah ░░░░░░░░ but that seat will ░░░░░░░░ open when McConnell s ░░░░░░░░ so I was wondering ░░░░░░░░ maybe you were throwing ░░░░░░░░ hat in the ring ░░░░░░░░ JENNINGS Yeah I read ░░░░░░░░ this with some amusement ░░░░░░░░ again it s a ░░░░░░░░ way until next year ░░░░░░░░ I ll tell you ░░░░░░░░ I think Kentucky has ░░░░░░░░ from having Republican senators ░░░░░░░░ a long time I ░░░░░░░░ that seat ought to ░░░░░░░░ in the hands ultimately ░░░░░░░░ somebody who s going ░░░░░░░░ help Donald Trump execute ░░░░░░░░ the president s agenda ░░░░░░░░ frankly I think politics ░░░░░░░░ a team sport The ░░░░░░░░ s ahead of our ░░░░░░░░ and I think eventually ░░░░░░░░ ll need to weigh ░░░░░░░░ here on who he ░░░░░░░░ is best to help ░░░░░░░░ execute on his agenda ░░░░░░░░ just as a piece ░░░░░░░░ analysis whoever Donald Trump ░░░░░░░░ will be the next ░░░░░░░░ from Kentucky BALLASY Because ░░░░░░░░ ve got Rand right ░░░░░░░░ and McConnell both pushing ░░░░░░░░ on the tariff actions ░░░░░░░░ Kentucky JENNINGS Yeah they ░░░░░░░░ had their differences with ░░░░░░░░ on that I mean ░░░░░░░░ a lot of Republicans ░░░░░░░░ and no Republican really ░░░░░░░░ Trump had necessarily been ░░░░░░░░ to believe in this ░░░░░░░░ idea I mean the ░░░░░░░░ orthodoxy here was not ░░░░░░░░ around tariffs BALLASY Yeah ░░░░░░░░ trade Yeah JENNINGS But ░░░░░░░░ shows the power of ░░░░░░░░ and it also shows ░░░░░░░░ changing nature of the ░░░░░░░░ You know Trump has ░░░░░░░░ the party around a ░░░░░░░░ of working class Americans ░░░░░░░░ probably voted for Clinton ░░░░░░░░ the 90s Now they ░░░░░░░░ voting Republican and they ░░░░░░░░ voting for Trump So ░░░░░░░░ you change constituencies I ░░░░░░░░ it s natural to ░░░░░░░░ evolution in the party ░░░░░░░░ platform And so I ░░░░░░░░ that s why it ░░░░░░░░ happening But there are ░░░░░░░░ going to be some ░░░░░░░░ who have some differences ░░░░░░░░ opinion But there s ░░░░░░░░ one president and Trump ░░░░░░░░ the unquestioned leader of ░░░░░░░░ party BALLASY Yeah Thank ░░░░░░░░ so much I appreciate ░░░░░░░░ You know real quick ░░░░░░░░ mentioned the 90s You ░░░░░░░░ he s knocked off ░░░░░░░░ the Obamas the Clintons ░░░░░░░░ Yeah BALLASY I mean ░░░░░░░░ Bushes JENNINGS Yeah BALLASY ░░░░░░░░ s the only one ░░░░░░░░ actually knock out all ░░░░░░░░ dynasties you know JENNINGS ░░░░░░░░ and I remember back ░░░░░░░░ his first term thinking ░░░░░░░░ Trump basically taking out ░░░░░░░░ traditional media and taking ░░░░░░░░ the Clintons No matter ░░░░░░░░ else he does in ░░░░░░░░ life you know he ░░░░░░░░ never buy another Diet ░░░░░░░░ in a Republican bar ░░░░░░░░ again Because if you ░░░░░░░░ went to a Lincoln ░░░░░░░░ dinner for the last ░░░░░░░░ years the way I ░░░░░░░░ all you ever hear ░░░░░░░░ what are we going ░░░░░░░░ do about the media ░░░░░░░░ what are we going ░░░░░░░░ do about the Clintons ░░░░░░░░ do they get away ░░░░░░░░ everything Donald Trump shows ░░░░░░░░ and kind of takes ░░░░░░░░ both out and exposes ░░░░░░░░ all And for that ░░░░░░░░ he s a legend ░░░░░░░░ for other reasons too ░░░░░░░░ he earned a lot ░░░░░░░░ respect in the party ░░░░░░░░ on by kind of ░░░░░░░░ the people that had ░░░░░░░░ Republicans for years He ░░░░░░░░ right up to the ░░░░░░░░ and took them on ░░░░░░░░ on And I think ░░░░░░░░ lot of us appreciated ░░░░░░░░ deeply.”
