Psaki to Cory Booker: After 25 Hours on the Floor, the Senate Moved Forward to Nominate Matt Whitaker as NATO Ambassador

PSAKI I was curious ░░░░░░░░ mean when you got ░░░░░░░░ the floor after 25 ░░░░░░░░ after not eating not ░░░░░░░░ not using the bathroom ░░░░░░░░ happened was your party ░░░░░░░░ entire Senate I should ░░░░░░░░ moved forward on the ░░░░░░░░ of Matt Whitaker as ░░░░░░░░ ambassador meaning no one ░░░░░░░░ the power to put ░░░░░░░░ hold on him That ░░░░░░░░ one example Obviously there ░░░░░░░░ lots of power and ░░░░░░░░ of things happening in ░░░░░░░░ But have you had ░░░░░░░░ over the last couple ░░░░░░░░ days with leadership with ░░░░░░░░ colleagues about the need ░░░░░░░░ take more aggressive steps ░░░░░░░░ block nominees BOOKER Yeah ░░░░░░░░ get to serve in ░░░░░░░░ body with a whole ░░░░░░░░ of really incredible human ░░░░░░░░ who all have an ░░░░░░░░ lives Literally I get ░░░░░░░░ sit in that back ░░░░░░░░ and in my back ░░░░░░░░ is a is a ░░░░░░░░ astronaut the guy that ░░░░░░░░ been a fighter pilot ░░░░░░░░ defied gravity on the ░░░░░░░░ row as somebody like ░░░░░░░░ Duckworth who literally has ░░░░░░░░ her legs in combat ░░░░░░░░ amazingly heroic committed people ░░░░░░░░ struggle with trying to ░░░░░░░░ out what is the ░░░░░░░░ way at this moment ░░░░░░░░ America is calling on ░░░░░░░░ leadership what s the ░░░░░░░░ way to serve And ░░░░░░░░ of us have tried ░░░░░░░░ stumbled struggled and tried ░░░░░░░░ figure out how do ░░░░░░░░ honor the traditions and ░░░░░░░░ the decorum of the ░░░░░░░░ but yet at the ░░░░░░░░ time show that we ░░░░░░░░ fed up and want ░░░░░░░░ fight And so those ░░░░░░░░ go on and each ░░░░░░░░ senator has to make ░░░░░░░░ decisions But I m ░░░░░░░░ of the 47 that ░░░░░░░░ ve been in And ░░░░░░░░ think all of us ░░░░░░░░ myself know that what ░░░░░░░░ ve been doing is ░░░░░░░░ and we need to ░░░░░░░░ more And I think ░░░░░░░░ you re seeing right ░░░░░░░░ and what you re ░░░░░░░░ to see over the ░░░░░░░░ weeks and months you ░░░░░░░░ talked about it a ░░░░░░░░ bit is a lot ░░░░░░░░ people that are going ░░░░░░░░ follow the leadership of ░░░░░░░░ states because we are ░░░░░░░░ people who ve worked ░░░░░░░░ shifts and then are ░░░░░░░░ out to rallies We ░░░░░░░░ seen people who are ░░░░░░░░ their children because there ░░░░░░░░ no childcare available for ░░░░░░░░ they re carrying their ░░░░░░░░ with them to rallies ░░░░░░░░ speak up And so ░░░░░░░░ many ways the people ░░░░░░░░ leading right now And ░░░░░░░░ know that a lot ░░░░░░░░ us are committed to ░░░░░░░░ with them in that ░░░░░░░░ and I m excited ░░░░░░░░ this moment I can ░░░░░░░░ folks waking up I ░░░░░░░░ feel the energy I ░░░░░░░░ feel the wave growing ░░░░░░░░ it s not a ░░░░░░░░ wave or a blue ░░░░░░░░ It s a wave ░░░░░░░░ saying this president is ░░░░░░░░ chaotic demeaning and degrading ░░░░░░░░ it s hurting American ░░░░░░░░ and we re not ░░░░░░░░ to stand for it ░░░░░░░░ I feel this week ░░░░░░░░ an important one I ░░░░░░░░ glad you reminded everyone ░░░░░░░░ s not about party ░░░░░░░░ s about standing up ░░░░░░░░ what s right Senator ░░░░░░░░ Booker I hope you ░░░░░░░░ some Gatorade and sleep ░░░░░░░░ time to yourself You ░░░░░░░░ really a real inspiration ░░░░░░░░ so many of us ░░░░░░░░ week Thank you so ░░░░░░░░ for joining me.”
