FINE And our guest ░░░░░░░░ Randi Weingarten President of ░░░░░░░░ American Federation of Teachers ░░░░░░░░ you so much for ░░░░░░░░ with us to discuss ░░░░░░░░ subject today Weingarten My ░░░░░░░░ FINE I want to ░░░░░░░░ with the AFT suing ░░░░░░░░ Trump Administration after yesterday ░░░░░░░░ announcement Can you tell ░░░░░░░░ when that came together ░░░░░░░░ quickly and what you ░░░░░░░░ hoping gets done in ░░░░░░░░ short period of time ░░░░░░░░ So the first case ░░░░░░░░ we did this week ░░░░░░░░ had something to do ░░░░░░░░ them collapsing and breaking ░░░░░░░░ student loan system And ░░░░░░░░ we have basically said ░░░░░░░░ can t basically eradicate ░░░░░░░░ student loan system the ░░░░░░░░ million people are in ░░░░░░░░ and you got to ░░░░░░░░ the websites and make ░░░░░░░░ that people can apply ░░░░░░░░ make sure that people ░░░░░░░░ pay their debt down ░░░░░░░░ things like that The ░░░░░░░░ I think you re ░░░░░░░░ about is that at ░░░░░░░░ end of the day ░░░░░░░░ I m you know ░░░░░░░░ hate bureaucracy the way ░░░░░░░░ people do I think ░░░░░░░░ if you could make ░░░░░░░░ more efficient and the ░░░░░░░░ could make it more ░░░░░░░░ you know I m ░░░░░░░░ them in terms of ░░░░░░░░ that stuff But evisceration ░░░░░░░░ an abandonment of the ░░░░░░░░ of education in the ░░░░░░░░ government is different than ░░░░░░░░ efficient in terms of ░░░░░░░░ So what we re ░░░░░░░░ at is that EO ░░░░░░░░ making sure that kids ░░░░░░░░ in Massachusetts which has ░░░░░░░░ highest NAEP scores in ░░░░░░░░ country Massachusetts wants to ░░░░░░░░ close to 300 million ░░░░░░░░ gets from the federal ░░░░░░░░ for Title I to ░░░░░░░░ the programs that it ░░░░░░░░ Florida has the lowest ░░░░░░░░ scores and who was ░░░░░░░░ with the president yesterday ░░░░░░░░ ve said don t ░░░░░░░░ take this money and ░░░░░░░░ it into vouchers Use ░░░░░░░░ money in a way ░░░░░░░░ really helps kids So ░░░░░░░░ we re about is ░░░░░░░░ sure that the federal ░░░░░░░░ which is not curriculum ░░░░░░░░ is not graduation requirements ░░░░░░░░ these states they re ░░░░░░░░ ones who actually do ░░░░░░░░ the federal role is ░░░░░░░░ ensuring opportunity for all ░░░░░░░░ and that is what ░░░░░░░░ re fighting for and ░░░░░░░░ s what we re ░░░░░░░░ to sue to protect ░░░░░░░░ individual kids and their ░░░░░░░░ to an adequate and ░░░░░░░░ and and frankly an ░░░░░░░░ and a real and ░░░░░░░░ great education.”
