TAKANO So I just ░░░░░░░░ to say that the ░░░░░░░░ Administration insists on promoting ░░░░░░░░ choice over public education ░░░░░░░░ in reality it funnels ░░░░░░░░ away from public education ░░░░░░░░ 90 percent of our ░░░░░░░░ in the U S ░░░░░░░░ on including the Asian ░░░░░░░░ diaspora Private schools are ░░░░░░░░ subject to the same ░░░░░░░░ discrimination laws in their ░░░░░░░░ and operations They are ░░░░░░░░ held to the same ░░░░░░░░ to protect students with ░░░░░░░░ the way that public ░░░░░░░░ are And while vouchers ░░░░░░░░ give families more choice ░░░░░░░░ truth is it removes ░░░░░░░░ choice from the hands ░░░░░░░░ families and puts it ░░░░░░░░ the hands of private ░░░░░░░░ Attacking low income and ░░░░░░░░ children in order to ░░░░░░░░ to a base that ░░░░░░░░ public education for its ░░░░░░░░ is abhorrent and cruel ░░░░░░░░ of course our communities ░░░░░░░░ students that need special ░░░░░░░░ Our students as I ░░░░░░░░ many of them are ░░░░░░░░ low income communities that ░░░░░░░░ Title I support Title ░░░░░░░░ funding Before I became ░░░░░░░░ to Congress I was ░░░░░░░░ public school teacher for ░░░░░░░░ years I taught in ░░░░░░░░ Title I school I ░░░░░░░░ literacy to students who ░░░░░░░░ behind in their reading ░░░░░░░░ I can tell you ░░░░░░░░ Title I funding is ░░░░░░░░ for urban kids and ░░░░░░░░ rural communities that are ░░░░░░░░ diverse.”
