J.D. Vance on Zelenskyy Meeting: ‘I Was Actually Trying to Defuse the Situation a Little Bit’

Hannity Let s go ░░░░░░░░ to the Oval Office ░░░░░░░░ from your perspective Vance ░░░░░░░░ great TV as the ░░░░░░░░ said Hannity Yeah Vance ░░░░░░░░ was well you know ░░░░░░░░ s funny So we ░░░░░░░░ a 40 45 minute ░░░░░░░░ conference and the president ░░░░░░░░ does this and I ░░░░░░░░ seen this now 3 ░░░░░░░░ 4 times with foreign ░░░░░░░░ where he likes to ░░░░░░░░ the media in likes ░░░░░░░░ have a conversation but ░░░░░░░░ questions with the press ░░░░░░░░ you know he s ░░░░░░░░ open with reporters And ░░░░░░░░ I noticed is that ░░░░░░░░ the first 25 30 ░░░░░░░░ so minutes he tried ░░░░░░░░ sort of bend over ░░░░░░░░ to be gracious and ░░░░░░░░ to Zelenskyy Even when ░░░░░░░░ was kind of needling ░░░░░░░░ even when Zelenskyy was ░░░░░░░░ things that I thought ░░░░░░░░ untrue the president just ░░░░░░░░ to be diplomatic Right ░░░░░░░░ think that s his ░░░░░░░░ instinct in that situation ░░░░░░░░ then when it really ░░░░░░░░ off the rails of ░░░░░░░░ is when I asked ░░░░░░░░ you had a Polish ░░░░░░░░ who asked a question ░░░░░░░░ president answered it and ░░░░░░░░ I answered it And ░░░░░░░░ something about my answer ░░░░░░░░ really sets Zelenskyy off ░░░░░░░░ then he came at ░░░░░░░░ Hannity So you re ░░░░░░░░ yourself Vance Laughs Then ░░░░░░░░ went back at him ░░░░░░░░ what I tried to ░░░░░░░░ originally was actually try ░░░░░░░░ diffuse the situation a ░░░░░░░░ bit because I m ░░░░░░░░ you know we re ░░░░░░░░ this meeting Obviously there ░░░░░░░░ 100 television cameras here ░░░░░░░░ s try to have ░░░░░░░░ conversation in private And ░░░░░░░░ the president as we ░░░░░░░░ on going back and ░░░░░░░░ I tried again to ░░░░░░░░ Well maybe we should ░░░░░░░░ this conversation in private ░░░░░░░░ the president was like ░░░░░░░░ actually I don t ░░░░░░░░ to have it in ░░░░░░░░ anymore I want to ░░░░░░░░ this actual conversation in ░░░░░░░░ for the American people ░░░░░░░░ see And I do ░░░░░░░░ that there was just ░░░░░░░░ certain sense of there ░░░░░░░░ a lack of respect ░░░░░░░░ was a certain sense ░░░░░░░░ entitlement And most importantly ░░░░░░░░ we can look past ░░░░░░░░ that stuff But the ░░░░░░░░ has set a very ░░░░░░░░ goal for his administration ░░░░░░░░ wants the killing to ░░░░░░░░ And I think that ░░░░░░░░ s very important that ░░░░░░░░ Zelenskyy and of course ░░░░░░░░ Putin too they ve ░░░░░░░░ got to come to ░░░░░░░░ negotiating table And that ░░░░░░░░ ultimately where things broke ░░░░░░░░ I really don t ░░░░░░░░ what President Zelenskyy says ░░░░░░░░ me or anybody else ░░░░░░░░ he showed a clear ░░░░░░░░ to engage in the ░░░░░░░░ process that President Trump ░░░░░░░░ said is the policy ░░░░░░░░ the American people and ░░░░░░░░ their president That s ░░░░░░░░ real breakdown is I ░░░░░░░░ Zelenskyy wasn t yet ░░░░░░░░ and I think frankly ░░░░░░░░ still isn t there ░░░░░░░░ I think he ll ░░░░░░░░ there eventually He has ░░░░░░░░
