centerpiece of our democracy ░░░░░░░░ that we observe court ░░░░░░░░ criminal court rulings civil ░░░░░░░░ rulings and constitutional court ░░░░░░░░ No one is above ░░░░░░░░ law And whether we ░░░░░░░░ it or not the ░░░░░░░░ interpret the law So ░░░░░░░░ throughout the history of ░░░░░░░░ United States the courts ░░░░░░░░ made rulings on when ░░░░░░░░ executive Branch is exercising ░░░░░░░░ power and when they ░░░░░░░░ going beyond the power ░░░░░░░░ they have Either constrained ░░░░░░░░ statute or by the ░░░░░░░░ just as they regularly ░░░░░░░░ on whether or not ░░░░░░░░ have complied with the ░░░░░░░░ or violated the law ░░░░░░░░ those be civil laws ░░░░░░░░ criminal laws If the ░░░░░░░░ United States says you ░░░░░░░░ what I don t ░░░░░░░░ what the courts say ░░░░░░░░ m going to do ░░░░░░░░ the hell I want ░░░░░░░░ s essentially the end ░░░░░░░░ the rule of law ░░░░░░░░ if the president isn ░░░░░░░░ bound by our laws ░░░░░░░░ the Constitution then why ░░░░░░░░ anybody else be bound ░░░░░░░░ our laws and the ░░░░░░░░ This is a really ░░░░░░░░ moment And no so ░░░░░░░░ they ve been talking ░░░░░░░░ But I think largely ░░░░░░░░ complied with these court ░░░░░░░░ I think there s ░░░░░░░░ to be a question ░░░░░░░░ to how how well ░░░░░░░░ ve complied with the ░░░░░░░░ But if they were ░░░░░░░░ outright ignore an order ░░░░░░░░ jd Vance and Elon ░░░░░░░░ are suggesting that ░░░░░░░░ contempt And there are ░░░░░░░░ series of remedies that ░░░░░░░░ court can order if ░░░░░░░░ is in contempt including ░░░░░░░░ them So there is ░░░░░░░░ series of escalatory steps ░░░░░░░░ to openly ░░░░░░░░ transparently not cooperate and ░░░░░░░░ follow a court order ░░░░░░░░ do you say to ░░░░░░░░ two arguments that have ░░░░░░░░ made to me today ░░░░░░░░ I ve been talking ░░░░░░░░ people on this is ░░░░░░░░ Trump supporters Americans elected ░░░░░░░░ that he had promised ░░░░░░░░ on the campaign trail ░░░░░░░░ they were going to ░░░░░░░░ this with Elon Musk ░░░░░░░░ go into the Obama did that the ░░░░░░░░ ruled were unconstitutional He ░░░░░░░░ those actions and operations ░░░░░░░░ until now whether presidents ░░░░░░░░ with the court rulings ░░░░░░░░ have observed the court ░░░░░░░░ in every single president ░░░░░░░░ and Democrat has had ░░░░░░░░ court weigh in and ░░░░░░░░ that something that they ░░░░░░░░ trying to do was ░░░░░░░░ the authorization they are ░░░░░░░░ by statute or the ░░░░░░░░ This would be the ░░░░░░░░ time the first time ░░░░░░░░ certainly in our lifetime ░░░░░░░░ a president has just ░░░░░░░░ to ignore the courts ░░░░░░░░ president has a battle that he can t ░░░░░░░░ off funds to agencies ░░░░░░░░ states where Congress directed ░░░░░░░░ to flow He has ░░░░░░░░ back on some of ░░░░░░░░ streams of funding but ░░░░░░░░ all And so today ░░░░░░░░ court in Rhode Island ░░░░░░░░ listen Mr President we ░░░░░░░░ it when you say ░░░░░░░░ you can t unilaterally ░░░░░░░░ these funds Again if ░░░░░░░░ were to continue to ░░░░░░░░ even this latest ruling ░░░░░░░░ it s possible that ░░░░░░░░ or some of his ░░░░░░░░ will be held in ░░░░░░░░ And if then they ░░░░░░░░ to enforce those contempt ░░░░░░░░ we are you know ░░░░░░░░ the middle of a ░░░░░░░░ dire constitutional crisis And ░░░░░░░░ I think the place ░░░░░░░░ re in now is ░░░░░░░░ dire The fact that ░░░░░░░░ administration has decided to ░░░░░░░░ political violence has hinted ░░░░░░░░ signaled that it s ░░░░░░░░ to pardon anybody who ░░░░░░░░ been accused of serious ░░░░░░░░ just because they re ░░░░░░░░ friendly to the president ░░░░░░░░ s a crisis in ░░░░░░░░ of itself
