NSA’s Waltz: Many of the USAID Senior Aid Officials ‘Have Their Own Agenda’ and Gone Their Own Direction

RUSH TRANSCRIPT WELKER You ░░░░░░░░ colonel you used to ░░░░░░░░ parts of USAID s ░░░░░░░░ As a member of ░░░░░░░░ you sponsored legislation for ░░░░░░░░ to expand girls access ░░░░░░░░ education worldwide which you ░░░░░░░░ was quote essential to ░░░░░░░░ national security Is foreign ░░░░░░░░ vital to the nation ░░░░░░░░ national security WALTZ When ░░░░░░░░ aid is aligned with ░░░░░░░░ S objectives and U ░░░░░░░░ Objectives meet the president ░░░░░░░░ objectives as commander in ░░░░░░░░ then it is but ░░░░░░░░ is not the case ░░░░░░░░ of these senior aid ░░░░░░░░ have their own agenda ░░░░░░░░ gone their own direction ░░░░░░░░ these programs many of ░░░░░░░░ are no longer authorized ░░░░░░░░ Congress just seemed to ░░░░░░░░ in perpetuity So we ░░░░░░░░ talk the entire time ░░░░░░░░ USAID I have a ░░░░░░░░ of experience about it ░░░░░░░░ the ground but in ░░░░░░░░ first two weeks we ░░░░░░░░ had major foreign leaders ░░░░░░░░ have the mexicans putting ░░░░░░░░ of their troops on ░░░░░░░░ border The Canadians putting ░░░░░░░░ assets on the border ░░░░░░░░ moving away from belt ░░░░░░░░ road Colombia first refusing ░░░░░░░░ take deportation and then ░░░░░░░░ taking it and we ░░░░░░░░ go on and on ░░░░░░░░ the successes of the ░░░░░░░░ that the previous administration ░░░░░░░░ t get out President ░░░░░░░░ says there s all ░░░░░░░░ to pay and now ░░░░░░░░ have not only hostages ░░░░░░░░ Hamas reuniting from their ░░░░░░░░ from Venezuela and from ░░░░░░░░ Taliban too So we ░░░░░░░░ had an amazing two ░░░░░░░░ We can get into ░░░░░░░░ s of foreign assistance ░░░░░░░░ it badly needs reform.”
