Plane Crashes in Philadelphia – Described as ‘a Fireball That Falls out of the Sky’

MARTINEZ This is Jason ░░░░░░░░ here in the FOX ░░░░░░░░ newsroom You are looking ░░░░░░░░ what s being described ░░░░░░░░ a plane crash in ░░░░░░░░ Philadelphia This is doorbell ░░░░░░░░ provided by a viewer ░░░░░░░░ of your screen you ░░░░░░░░ the fireball come out ░░░░░░░░ the sky Again this ░░░░░░░░ being described to us ░░░░░░░░ a plane crash northeast ░░░░░░░░ in the area of ░░░░░░░░ and Cottman avenues You ░░░░░░░░ the left of your ░░░░░░░░ the fireball come right ░░░░░░░░ take another closer look ░░░░░░░░ And so this just ░░░░░░░░ here in the last ░░░░░░░░ minutes or so Again ░░░░░░░░ Philadelphia I believe we ░░░░░░░░ Steve Keeley in the ░░░░░░░░ on the phone Steve ░░░░░░░░ can you tell us ░░░░░░░░ we have Steve We ░░░░░░░░ not appear to have ░░░░░░░░ at the moment As ░░░░░░░░ as we get him ░░░░░░░░ ll bring it to ░░░░░░░░ But again viewer provided ░░░░░░░░ from a doorbell camera ░░░░░░░░ northeast Philadelphia showing a ░░░░░░░░ fall out of the ░░░░░░░░ Of course the northeast ░░░░░░░░ airport just less than ░░░░░░░░ mile away from this ░░░░░░░░ And so a lot ░░░░░░░░ viewers have been calling ░░░░░░░░ newsroom and telling us ░░░░░░░░ they believe this was ░░░░░░░░ plane crash in this ░░░░░░░░ of Busselton and Cottman ░░░░░░░░ this doorbell camera video ░░░░░░░░ you question exactly what ░░░░░░░░ re seeing Here s ░░░░░░░░ closer look And really ░░░░░░░░ can only describe that ░░░░░░░░ a fireball that falls ░░░░░░░░ of the sky And ░░░░░░░░ this is Roosevelt Mall ░░░░░░░░ believe the parking lot ░░░░░░░░ northeast Philly And this ░░░░░░░░ ground video that we ░░░░░░░░ just getting in You ░░░░░░░░ seeing it as I ░░░░░░░░ seeing it police taping ░░░░░░░░ area off smoke and ░░░░░░░░ in this area And ░░░░░░░░ of course all happening ░░░░░░░░ we are still sorting ░░░░░░░░ a plane crash that ░░░░░░░░ in D C No ░░░░░░░░ on the size of ░░░░░░░░ plane that crashed what ░░░░░░░░ it We are just ░░░░░░░░ this There s some ░░░░░░░░ now we have Steve ░░░░░░░░ if you can hear ░░░░░░░░ what can you tell ░░░░░░░░ KEELEY Jason I was ░░░░░░░░ warned I m fairly ░░░░░░░░ I was nearby This ░░░░░░░░ at 6 00 I ░░░░░░░░ it confirm but 6 ░░░░░░░░ and 6 14 Then ░░░░░░░░ top command in the ░░░░░░░░ told me his house ░░░░░░░░ He called the bomb ░░░░░░░░ and they told him ░░░░░░░░ plane had crashed Then ░░░░░░░░ of calls came in ░░░░░░░░ was nearby I saw ░░░░░░░░ racing over here I ░░░░░░░░ with them I m ░░░░░░░░ at two fires going ░░░░░░░░ now on Cottman Avenue ░░░░░░░░ m standing in one ░░░░░░░░ the driveways to the ░░░░░░░░ Mall As I ran ░░░░░░░░ here I parked in ░░░░░░░░ McDonald s at Cottman ░░░░░░░░ the Boulevard I wondered ░░░░░░░░ I was tripping over ░░░░░░░░ it was pieces of ░░░░░░░░ airplane scattered in the ░░░░░░░░ parking lot They then ░░░░░░░░ roping that off and ░░░░░░░░ heavy smell of jet ░░░░░░░░ is in the air ░░░░░░░░ has been in the ░░░░░░░░ There is still black ░░░░░░░░ The fires are not ░░░░░░░░ control And then an ░░░░░░░░ told me to take ░░░░░░░░ behind the police and ░░░░░░░░ vehicle there because there ░░░░░░░░ a gas line nearby ░░░░░░░░ commander told me cars ░░░░░░░░ on fire This was ░░░░░░░░ rush hour I know ░░░░░░░░ because I was just ░░░░░░░░ Cottman Avenue seconds before ░░░░░░░░ approaching the Boulevard when ░░░░░░░░ plane crashed so it ░░░░░░░░ a wall to wall ░░░░░░░░ approaching Cottman and the ░░░░░░░░ So people were stopped ░░░░░░░░ traffic I don t ░░░░░░░░ if cars are on ░░░░░░░░ in front of me ░░░░░░░░ parts of the plane ░░░░░░░░ it looks like multiple ░░░░░░░░ And the fires are ░░░░░░░░ right next to each ░░░░░░░░ They re a good ░░░░░░░░ yards from each other ░░░░░░░░ there is a string ░░░░░░░░ damage and a string ░░░░░░░░ fires This mall is ░░░░░░░░ some kind of construction ░░░░░░░░ they have a tarp ░░░░░░░░ about a six foot ░░░░░░░░ tent Every police officer ░░░░░░░░ fire department member in ░░░░░░░░ city must be up ░░░░░░░░ right now And there ░░░░░░░░ still more coming on ░░░░░░░░ way There is so ░░░░░░░░ smoke in the air ░░░░░░░░ right over the mall ░░░░░░░░ here This mall was ░░░░░░░░ too They had to ░░░░░░░░ all the people back ░░░░░░░░ their own good and ░░░░░░░░ air quality is not ░░░░░░░░ for them But everybody ░░░░░░░░ out here Now I ░░░░░░░░ see one car I ░░░░░░░░ looking through the fence ░░░░░░░░ I m looking down ░░░░░░░░ front of a Dunkin ░░░░░░░░ on Cottman And again ░░░░░░░░ is right before the ░░░░░░░░ right in front of ░░░░░░░░ Dunkin Donuts It looks ░░░░░░░░ an SUV is on ░░░░░░░░ and the flames are ░░░░░░░░ through the street and ░░░░░░░░ are so many fires ░░░░░░░░ and the fire department ░░░░░░░░ also trying to worry ░░░░░░░░ that gas line that ░░░░░░░░ in danger Now I ░░░░░░░░ counting the fires Jason ░░░░░░░░ two three four fires ░░░░░░░░ can see right here ░░░░░░░░ spread out along Cottman ░░░░░░░░ right now.”
