uh ░░░░░░░░ defense and Homeland Security ░░░░░░░░ chrisye Noem uh can ░░░░░░░░ tell us now where ░░░░░░░░ stand on felse garbett ░░░░░░░░ think I won t ░░░░░░░░ surprised well I had ░░░░░░░░ um going into my ░░░░░░░░ with her in my ░░░░░░░░ said questions going into ░░░░░░░░ hearing today I still ░░░░░░░░ a lot of questions ░░░░░░░░ she qualified don t ░░░░░░░░ so do you think ░░░░░░░░ understands the job um ░░░░░░░░ I think she knows ░░░░░░░░ the job is and ░░░░░░░░ it takes um I ░░░░░░░░ t think she has ░░░░░░░░ background for this I ░░░░░░░░ got you know very ░░░░░░░░ concerns you know and then used ░░░░░░░░ know shoddy evidence uh ░░░░░░░░ I m concerned about ░░░░░░░░ I m certainly concerned ░░░░░░░░ my colleagues about not ░░░░░░░░ able to say that ░░░░░░░░ Snowden is a traitor ░░░░░░░░ this country I andan ░░░░░░░░ guy should be in ░░░░░░░░ and they I mean ░░░░░░░░ is I for those ░░░░░░░░ do not recall he ░░░░░░░░ now a citizen of ░░░░░░░░ Russia offered him citizenship ░░░░░░░░ he left essentially defected ░░░░░░░░ Russia after having given ░░░░░░░░ National Security information he ░░░░░░░░ over over a million ░░░░░░░░ to the Russians probably ░░░░░░░░ the Chinese yeah uh ░░░░░░░░ stuff publicly it has ░░░░░░░░ tremendous damage to all ░░░░░░░░ our safety you know ░░░░░░░░ safety your your relatives ░░░░░░░░ family uh but what ░░░░░░░░ did to our intelligence ░░░░░░░░ and our military members ░░░░░░░░ the military are much ░░░░░░░░ safe today because of ░░░░░░░░ Edward Snowden did he ░░░░░░░░ be in prison he ░░░░░░░░ a traitor to the ░░░░░░░░ so my question then ░░░░░░░░ How can any you ░░░░░░░░ United States Senator any ░░░░░░░░ senator who purport to ░░░░░░░░ care about National Security ░░░░░░░░ well just on that ░░░░░░░░ supports someone who supports ░░░░░░░░ Snowden I mean yeah ░░░░░░░░ I understand you probably ░░░░░░░░ not want to tell ░░░░░░░░ what you what are ░░░░░░░░ being think they should ░░░░░░░░ him and I do ░░░░░░░░ get the sense she ░░░░░░░░ going to get through ░░░░░░░░ think they I think ░░░░░░░░ s a lot of ░░░░░░░░ that are still that ░░░░░░░░ Republican colleagues have I ░░░░░░░░ some of them have ░░░░░░░░ answered uh in probably ░░░░░░░░ way that she was ░░░░░░░░ would have G gone ░░░░░░░░ other way I think ░░░░░░░░ of them are still ░░░░░░░░ really uncomfortable with her ░░░░░░░░ running 18 intelligence agencies ░░░░░░░░ I don t think ░░░░░░░░ confirmation to this job ░░░░░░░░ certain okay uh that ░░░░░░░░ interesting and the the ░░░░░░░░ I guess would be ░░░░░░░░ would be the biggest ░░░░░░░░ of what she could ░░░░░░░░ in that position what ░░░░░░░░ people be most concerned ░░░░░░░░ should she be confirmed ░░░░░░░░ my view giving bad ░░░░░░░░ to the president and ░░░░░░░░ as she analyzes the ░░░░░░░░ and you know she ░░░░░░░░ going to have a ░░░░░░░░ of stuff on her ░░░░░░░░ every single day and ░░░░░░░░ s got to try ░░░░░░░░ you know sort through ░░░░░░░░ and figure it out ░░░░░░░░ what s her decision ░░░░░░░░ process uh while a ░░░░░░░░ of Congress instead of ░░░░░░░░ the intelligence community and ░░░░░░░░ don t expect I ░░░░░░░░ skepticism healthy skepticism is ░░░░░░░░ good thing you know ░░░░░░░░ don t want to ░░░░░░░░ everything on face value ░░░░░░░░ want to ask questions ░░░░░░░░ instead of asking questions ░░░░░░░░ the intelligence Community she ░░░░░░░░ to outside people who ░░░░░░░░ not experts now she ░░░░░░░░ a professor from MIT ░░░░░░░░ know had the right ░░░░░░░░ and and was an ░░░░░░░░ in these areas when ░░░░░░░░ he was not and ░░░░░░░░ with a little bit ░░░░░░░░ digging she would have ░░░░░░░░ able to figure that ░░░░░░░░ yeah and and instead ░░░░░░░░ you know pushes aside ░░░░░░░░ is a strong position ░░░░░░░░ the US government and ░░░░░░░░ intelligence community and accepts ░░░░░░░░ person because it confirmed ░░░░░░░░ she wanted this is ░░░░░░░░ opinion it confirmed what ░░░░░░░░ wanted to be able ░░░░░░░░ say and put out ░░░░░░░░ publicly and I can ░░░░░░░░ figure out why she ░░░░░░░░ do this yeah I ░░░░░░░░ the thing is this ░░░░░░░░ a Common Thread among ░░░░░░░░ know you can say ░░░░░░░░ similar things about cash ░░░░░░░░ he believes certain things ░░░░░░░░ he s doing podcasts ░░░░░░░░ think that s one ░░░░░░░░ and it s perfectly ░░░░░░░░ to speculate on a ░░░░░░░░ but as FBI director ░░░░░░░░ would have the power ░░░░░░░░ use the resources of ░░░░░░░░ United States the awesome ░░░░░░░░ of the FBI to ░░░░░░░░ to prove these things ░░░░░░░░ be true she s ░░░░░░░░ should be able to ░░░░░░░░ whatever they want you ░░░░░░░░ they re they re ░░░░░░░░ re out there they ░░░░░░░░ trying to get viewers ░░░░░░░░ in these positions the ░░░░░░░░ of the FBI is ░░░░░░░░ serious job all of ░░░░░░░░ these cabinet level posts ░░░░░░░░ the National Security posts ░░░░░░░░ you know the Secretary ░░░░░░░░ Defense you know Homeland ░░░░░░░░ director of the FBI ░░░░░░░░ head of the CIA ░░░░░░░░ are serious jobs that ░░░░░░░░ really hard we want ░░░░░░░░ qualified people who are ░░░░░░░░ people who can you ░░░░░░░░ who can figure some ░░░░░░░░ this stuff out yeah ░░░░░░░░ just and I respect ░░░░░░░░ service in the military
