DONNELLY Thank you Secretary ░░░░░░░░ you Mayor I m ░░░░░░░░ today with Fire Chief ░░░░░░░░ from the Metropolitan Washington ░░░░░░░░ Authority And I m ░░░░░░░░ Donnelly Chief of the ░░░░░░░░ of Columbia Fire and ░░░░░░░░ Department Last night at ░░░░░░░░ 48 the control tower ░░░░░░░░ an alert which alerts ░░░░░░░░ to respond to a ░░░░░░░░ of an aircraft crash ░░░░░░░░ or near the airport ░░░░░░░░ sets off an immediate ░░░░░░░░ from the airport authority ░░░░░░░░ department from the District ░░░░░░░░ Columbia and Metropolitan Harbor ░░░░░░░░ fire boats and other ░░░░░░░░ boats on the river ░░░░░░░░ order to support that ░░░░░░░░ of operation Very quickly ░░░░░░░░ call escalated The responders ░░░░░░░░ that they had a ░░░░░░░░ crash and immediately escalated ░░░░░░░░ a response that ultimately ░░░░░░░░ about 300 people last ░░░░░░░░ These responders found extremely ░░░░░░░░ conditions They found heavy ░░░░░░░░ They found ice on ░░░░░░░░ water And they operated ░░░░░░░░ night in those conditions ░░░░░░░░ d like to take ░░░░░░░░ moment to acknowledge the ░░░░░░░░ that responded in addition ░░░░░░░░ D C Fire and ░░░░░░░░ and Metropolitan Washington Airports ░░░░░░░░ Montgomery County Fire Department ░░░░░░░░ Prince George s County ░░░░░░░░ Department the Charles County ░░░░░░░░ Department the Baltimore County ░░░░░░░░ Department the Anne Arundel ░░░░░░░░ Fire Department the Alexandria ░░░░░░░░ Department the Arlington County ░░░░░░░░ Department the Fairfax Fire ░░░░░░░░ the Prince William Fire ░░░░░░░░ the Baltimore City Police ░░░░░░░░ the Maryland State Police ░░░░░░░░ Maryland Natural Resources Police ░░░░░░░░ Department of Defense the ░░░░░░░░ Base Bolling Fire Department ░░░░░░░░ the staff there the ░░░░░░░░ S Army the U ░░░░░░░░ Coast Guard the United ░░░░░░░░ Park Police the Metropolitan ░░░░░░░░ Department the FBI and ░░░░░░░░ NTSB Despite all those ░░░░░░░░ we are now at ░░░░░░░░ point where we are ░░░░░░░░ from a rescue operation ░░░░░░░░ a recovery operation At ░░░░░░░░ point we don t ░░░░░░░░ there are any survivors ░░░░░░░░ this accident And we ░░░░░░░░ recovered 27 people from ░░░░░░░░ plane and one from ░░░░░░░░ helicopter The district office ░░░░░░░░ the medical examiner has ░░░░░░░░ on reuniting these bodies ░░░░░░░░ these people with their ░░░░░░░░ ones And we will ░░░░░░░░ to work to find ░░░░░░░░ the bodies and collect ░░░░░░░░ and reunite them with ░░░░░░░░ loved ones We should ░░░░░░░░ acknowledge that the Virginia ░░░░░░░░ examiner and the Army ░░░░░░░░ examiner are involved in ░░░░░░░░ operation and a very ░░░░░░░░ part of getting people ░░░░░░░░ So —“
