    WELKER All right let ░░░░░░░░ talk about disaster relief ░░░░░░░░ California I want to ░░░░░░░░ you something that California ░░░░░░░░ Gavin Newsom wrote recently ░░░░░░░░ said There must be ░░░░░░░░ conditions no strings attached ░░░░░░░░ disaster aid And yet ░░░░░░░░ know that there s ░░░░░░░░ big conversation happening right ░░░░░░░░ on Capitol Hill about ░░░░░░░░ disaster aid for California ░░░░░░░░ an increase in the ░░░░░░░░ limit which has been ░░░░░░░░ traditionally really thorny issue ░░░░░░░░ you and can you ░░░░░░░░ that California disaster relief ░░░░░░░░ t have strings attached ░░░░░░░░ No I won t ░░░░░░░░ that because we have ░░░░░░░░ serious problem in California ░░░░░░░░ there are national disasters ░░░░░░░░ m from Louisiana We ░░░░░░░░ prone to that We ░░░░░░░░ how these things work ░░░░░░░░ then there s also ░░░░░░░░ error And when the ░░░░░░░░ and local officials make ░░░░░░░░ policy decisions that make ░░░░░░░░ disaster exponentially worse we ░░░░░░░░ to factor that in ░░░░░░░░ I think that s ░░░░░░░░ commonsense notion Listen in ░░░░░░░░ over the last couple ░░░░░░░░ they cut 100 million ░░░░░░░░ forestry management They cut ░░░░░░░░ think almost 18 million ░░░░░░░░ L A s fire ░░░░░░░░ putting them into their ░░░░░░░░ crazy priorities And you ░░░░░░░░ a 117 million gallon ░░░░░░░░ that was left empty ░░░░░░░░ a year outside the ░░░░░░░░ Palisades Those were decisions ░░░░░░░░ made based on whatever ░░░░░░░░ their ideas were But ░░░░░░░░ made it worse and ░░░░░░░░ knew it would And ░░░░░░░░ risk was there WELKER ░░░░░░░░ it could be linked ░░░░░░░░ the debt limit to ░░░░░░░░ the debt limit Johnson ░░░░░░░░ That s one of ░░░░░░░░ things we re talking ░░░░░░░░ Yeah.”
