KIRKPATRICK Thank you governor ░░░░░░░░ Madam Mayor For those ░░░░░░░░ do not know me ░░░░░░░░ name is Ann Kirkpatrick ░░░░░░░░ m the chief of ░░░░░░░░ of New Orleans My ░░░░░░░░ official title is superintendent ░░░░░░░░ my role is as ░░░░░░░░ of police You know ░░░░░░░░ ve heard some of ░░░░░░░░ details today and over ░░░░░░░░ last 24 hours we ░░░░░░░░ approximately 400 officers in ░░░░░░░░ French Quarter And as ░░░░░░░░ know this is not ░░░░░░░░ an act of terrorism ░░░░░░░░ is evil And when ░░░░░░░░ face evil we have ░░░░░░░░ choice We can run ░░░░░░░░ fear or we can ░░░░░░░░ stand in strength In ░░░░░░░░ time of crisis people ░░░░░░░░ looking for leadership You ░░░░░░░░ looking at the leadership ░░░░░░░░ I promise you as ░░░░░░░░ chief of police of ░░░░░░░░ city this city has ░░░░░░░░ tried by fire before ░░░░░░░░ fire purifies fire makes ░░░░░░░░ stronger We have a ░░░░░░░░ We know what to ░░░░░░░░ We are going to ░░░░░░░░ these people There is ░░░░░░░░ path forward Very pleased ░░░░░░░░ we will be back ░░░░░░░░ having a wonderful game ░░░░░░░░ night New Orleans Police ░░░░░░░░ proven their ability to ░░░░░░░░ this city safer Just ░░░░░░░░ years ago we were ░░░░░░░░ murder capital of America ░░░░░░░░ from that time two ░░░░░░░░ ago we have driven ░░░░░░░░ murder rate more than ░░░░░░░░ down So we have ░░░░░░░░ track record But this ░░░░░░░░ different because it s ░░░░░░░░ Now I want to ░░░░░░░░ all of our law ░░░░░░░░ partners You re fabulous ░░░░░░░░ we appreciate the partnership ░░░░░░░░ last night three of ░░░░░░░░ officers engaged this terrorist ░░░░░░░░ shot at them three ░░░░░░░░ the officers returned fire ░░░░░░░░ officers did not run ░░░░░░░░ fear I liked what ░░░░░░░░ mayor said this morning ░░░░░░░░ Orleans Police and all ░░░░░░░░ enforcement is built we ░░░░░░░░ built for dealing with ░░░░░░░░ with things that would ░░░░░░░░ others to be in ░░░░░░░░ But instead our officers ░░░░░░░░ last night NOPD in ░░░░░░░░ stood strong they did ░░░░░░░░ run they did kill ░░░░░░░░ terrorist We have two ░░░░░░░░ indeed who received gunfire ░░░░░░░░ will be okay We ░░░░░░░░ personally gone to see ░░░░░░░░ But this is leadership ░░░░░░░░ you And I promise ░░░░░░░░ the chief of police ░░░░░░░░ this fantastic city that ░░░░░░░░ will be strong and ░░░░░░░░ and fearless Thank you ░░░░░░░░ Thank you, chief.”
