‘This Is It, the Final Segment’: Neil Cavuto Announces He’s Leaving Fox After 28 Years

CAVUTO This is it ░░░░░░░░ final segment But today ░░░░░░░░ also wanted to let ░░░░░░░░ know this is my ░░░░░░░░ show I am leaving ░░░░░░░░ I ve been planning ░░░░░░░░ day for some time ░░░░░░░░ just seemed like a ░░░░░░░░ time Now some of ░░░░░░░░ might be thinking well ░░░░░░░░ it is about time ░░░░░░░░ all I ve been ░░░░░░░░ this for nearly three ░░░░░░░░ here You know there ░░░░░░░░ people working with me ░░░░░░░░ who weren t even ░░░░░░░░ when I started at ░░░░░░░░ That s how old ░░░░░░░░ am But I m ░░░░░░░░ leaving journalism I m ░░░░░░░░ leaving here But I ░░░░░░░░ forever grateful to my ░░░░░░░░ here They ve been ░░░░░░░░ good to me these ░░░░░░░░ years and offered a ░░░░░░░░ generous opportunity for me ░░░░░░░░ stay years more That ░░░░░░░░ pretty amazing considering the ░░░░░░░░ that I don t ░░░░░░░░ I might have missed ░░░░░░░░ day or two here ░░░░░░░░ there battling everything from ░░░░░░░░ sclerosis and Covid to ░░░░░░░░ infections even open heart ░░░░░░░░ Then there were all ░░░░░░░░ those awful series of ░░░░░░░░ Don t get me ░░░░░░░░ on that one I ░░░░░░░░ have been unlucky in ░░░░░░░░ but very lucky for ░░░░░░░░ support I got here ░░░░░░░░ the things I got ░░░░░░░░ do here because I ░░░░░░░░ to do what I ░░░░░░░░ to do Report the ░░░░░░░░ not shout the news ░░░░░░░░ blast the news and ░░░░░░░░ well call names Just ░░░░░░░░ balls and strikes Following ░░░░░░░░ news to hold truth ░░░░░░░░ power and fairness to ░░░░░░░░ That s it That ░░░░░░░░ me But while you ░░░░░░░░ me you really don ░░░░░░░░ see the people behind ░░░░░░░░ The producers and writers ░░░░░░░░ cameramen and directors across ░░░░░░░░ shows all these years ░░░░░░░░ me And that can ░░░░░░░░ a pretty heavy lift ░░░░░░░░ blame them if I ░░░░░░░░ something that ticked you ░░░░░░░░ and apparently I did ░░░░░░░░ lot But now I ░░░░░░░░ off and saving my ░░░░░░░░ thanks for last For ░░░░░░░░ all of you who ░░░░░░░░ allowed me into your ░░░░░░░░ all of these years ░░░░░░░░ dad used to tell ░░░░░░░░ Neil stay humble because ░░░░░░░░ your case it will ░░░░░░░░ in handy I don ░░░░░░░░ think he d ever ░░░░░░░░ my incredible run but ░░░░░░░░ do think he d ░░░░░░░░ me to thank those ░░░░░░░░ made it possible All ░░░░░░░░ you Okay truth be ░░░░░░░░ most of you I ░░░░░░░░ leaving out the nasty ░░░░░░░░ who called me fat ░░░░░░░░ as I often said ░░░░░░░░ the camera adds 50 ░░░░░░░░ until one dude saw ░░░░░░░░ in person and said ░░░░░░░░ know Neil it wasn ░░░░░░░░ the camera Or those ░░░░░░░░ E mailed that I ░░░░░░░░ things that I think ░░░░░░░░ anatomically impossible to do ░░░░░░░░ got a kick out ░░░░░░░░ those I actually got ░░░░░░░░ kick out of them ░░░░░░░░ Let s just say ░░░░░░░░ kept me grounded My ░░░░░░░░ mom used to say ░░░░░░░░ should count our blessings ░░░░░░░░ never forget who blessed ░░░░░░░░ In the end that ░░░░░░░░ be our focus And ░░░░░░░░ is mine tonight Not ░░░░░░░░ the stuff that divides ░░░░░░░░ or the nastiness that ░░░░░░░░ us but the far ░░░░░░░░ important stuff that unites ░░░░░░░░ and defines us and ░░░░░░░░ us I tried to ░░░░░░░░ to those better angels ░░░░░░░░ I m grateful you ░░░░░░░░ me that chance That ░░░░░░░░ why I say goodbye ░░░░░░░░ only good thoughts and ░░░░░░░░ wishes I hope you ░░░░░░░░ a very merry Christmas ░░░░░░░░ a wonderful holiday season ░░░░░░░░ the New Year be ░░░░░░░░ fulfilling for you as ░░░░░░░░ nearly 30 incredible years ░░░░░░░░ blessed me That means ░░░░░░░░ lot You do too ░░░░░░░░ you and good night.”
