Dem Rep. Gwen Moore: The CDC and Other Private Foundations Need to Study What the Cause of Mass Shootings Is

RUSH TRANSCRIPT This morning ░░░░░░░░ police chief in Madison ░░░░░░░░ told us they have ░░░░░░░░ determined how a 15 ░░░░░░░░ old girl got the ░░░░░░░░ And student at a ░░░░░░░░ middle school in Madison ░░░░░░░░ chief also told us ░░░░░░░░ are trying to track ░░░░░░░░ information on a so ░░░░░░░░ manifesto With us now ░░░░░░░░ congresswoman Gwen Moore a ░░░░░░░░ from Wisconsin Congresswoman thank ░░░░░░░░ so much for joining ░░░░░░░░ this morning What questions ░░░░░░░░ you have about this ░░░░░░░░ This is just yet ░░░░░░░░ American life where we ░░░░░░░░ yet another school shooting ░░░░░░░░ as often as it ░░░░░░░░ happened this this past ░░░░░░░░ Three You know this ░░░░░░░░ our I believe 323rd ░░░░░░░░ You just can t ░░░░░░░░ used to it And ░░░░░░░░ mean what you know ░░░░░░░░ We can t wrap ░░░░░░░░ heads around this time ░░░░░░░░ that there s a ░░░░░░░░ shooter involved And so ░░░░░░░░ heart goes out to ░░░░░░░░ the families and children ░░░░░░░░ And let s not ░░░░░░░░ the parents of the ░░░░░░░░ who have also suffered ░░░░░░░░ tremendous loss I mean ░░░░░░░░ is horrible And you ░░░░░░░░ my thought is that ░░░░░░░░ don t have a ░░░░░░░░ of information and that ░░░░░░░░ why it s really ░░░░░░░░ for us to support ░░░░░░░░ that people have made ░░░░░░░░ to have the CDC ░░░░░░░░ other private foundations really ░░░░░░░░ to study what the ░░░░░░░░ of this violence is ░░░░░░░░ know we already know ░░░░░░░░ there are too many ░░░░░░░░ We you know a ░░░░░░░░ of people say it ░░░░░░░░ the mental health or ░░░░░░░░ s video games We ░░░░░░░░ t know because we ░░░░░░░░ to even study this ░░░░░░░░ But it s yet ░░░░░░░░ American tragedy The loss ░░░░░░░░ unfulfilled life and it ░░░░░░░░ it s really close ░░░░░░░░ home This is not ░░░░░░░░ or Texas This is ░░░░░░░░ um one of the ░░░░░░░░ that has changed in ░░░░░░░░ last few years in ░░░░░░░░ Michigan the parents of ░░░░░░░░ school shooter were convicted ░░░░░░░░ basically negligence manslaughter in ░░░░░░░░ in the crime committed ░░░░░░░░ Another school shooting the ░░░░░░░░ could be implicated there ░░░░░░░░ well Again not yet ░░░░░░░░ there I do wonder ░░░░░░░░ picture how you feel ░░░░░░░░ that How you feel ░░░░░░░░ placing some responsibility on ░░░░░░░░ of school shooters Happened ░░░░░░░░ From what we can ░░░░░░░░ we know now is ░░░░░░░░ the parents are cooperating ░░░░░░░░ authorities We don t ░░░░░░░░ don t know And ░░░░░░░░ what we don t ░░░░░░░░ we can t fix ░░░░░░░░ I would say as ░░░░░░░░ parent as a grandparent ░░░░░░░░ a great grandparent that ░░░░░░░░ takes a village to ░░░░░░░░ a child We can ░░░░░░░░ just say it s ░░░░░░░░ fault of of the ░░░░░░░░ or schools don t ░░░░░░░░ magnetometers or this or ░░░░░░░░ Uh we really have ░░░░░░░░ to lean into this ░░░░░░░░ violence As a country ░░░░░░░░ a community And this ░░░░░░░░ just yet another indicator ░░░░░░░░ how crucial and critical ░░░░░░░░ is for us to ░░░░░░░░ this From Wisconsin from ░░░░░░░░ not too far from ░░░░░░░░ this shooting happened I ░░░░░░░░ you are grieving along ░░░░░░░░ the rest of the ░░░░░░░░ and the rest of ░░░░░░░░ country Thank you so ░░░░░░░░ for being with us ░░░░░░░░ morning, Sarah.
