CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta: Large Studies Have Shown that Vaccines Do Not Cause Autism

HILL CNN s chief ░░░░░░░░ correspondent Dr Sanjay Gupta ░░░░░░░░ back with me as ░░░░░░░░ Sanjay good to have ░░░░░░░░ back with us Among ░░░░░░░░ other things that we ░░░░░░░░ heard from our RFK ░░░░░░░░ he has consistently talked ░░░░░░░░ vaccines and talked about ░░░░░░░░ Link between autism and ░░░░░░░░ Can you set the ░░░░░░░░ straight for us on ░░░░░░░░ please GUPTA Yeah I ░░░░░░░░ there s been plenty ░░░░░░░░ studies around this I ░░░░░░░░ I think this started ░░░░░░░░ in the late 90s ░░░░░░░░ a paper around 12 ░░░░░░░░ who had received the ░░░░░░░░ vaccine and developed autism ░░░░░░░░ paper was subsequently retracted ░░░░░░░░ it did sort of ░░░░░░░░ a lot of other ░░░░░░░░ Erica Over the last ░░░░░░░░ years or so large ░░░░░░░░ studies of hundreds of ░░░░░░░░ of kids followed for ░░░░░░░░ years in different countries ░░░░░░░░ the world kids who ░░░░░░░░ vaccinated kids who are ░░░░░░░░ vaccinated was there a ░░░░░░░░ of developing autism in ░░░░░░░░ vaccinated group And what ░░░░░░░░ found was that that ░░░░░░░░ t the case So ░░░░░░░░ know these studies have ░░░░░░░░ done It was a ░░░░░░░░ question perhaps initially when ░░░░░░░░ was asked 25 years ░░░░░░░░ but then those questions ░░░░░░░░ answered by these studies ░░░░░░░░ I think is interesting ░░░░░░░░ is that you just ░░░░░░░░ even in Brian s ░░░░░░░░ this desire as RFK ░░░░░░░░ just show me the ░░░░░░░░ Well he s seen ░░░░░░░░ data and then that ░░░░░░░░ is not good enough ░░░░░░░░ I think it s ░░░░░░░░ not about the data ░░░░░░░░ s about who s ░░░░░░░░ the data What you ░░░░░░░░ see is not sort ░░░░░░░░ an assailing of the ░░░░░░░░ but more an assailing ░░░░░░░░ the messenger so just ░░░░░░░░ sort of creating this ░░░░░░░░ in scientists who are ░░░░░░░░ these studies and those ░░░░░░░░ are part of an ░░░░░░░░ the NIH that he ░░░░░░░░ or may not be ░░░░░░░░ here in some time ░░░░░░░░ I think that s ░░░░░░░░ s really raising some ░░░░░░░░ HILL Yeah and understandably ░░░░░░░░ other things that he ░░░░░░░░ advocated for regulating chemicals ░░░░░░░░ food Also most recently ░░░░░░░░ I think had a ░░░░░░░░ of people scratching their ░░░░░░░░ asking for or calling ░░░░░░░░ I should say fluoride ░░░░░░░░ be removed from the ░░░░░░░░ s water supply Just ░░░░░░░░ us through a couple ░░░░░░░░ those if you would ░░░░░░░░ what the impact could ░░░░░░░░ GUPTA Well at a ░░░░░░░░ line sort of first ░░░░░░░░ all this is sort ░░░░░░░░ the a little bit ░░░░░░░░ the issue Some of ░░░░░░░░ things that he says ░░░░░░░░ example around food I ░░░░░░░░ are things that many ░░░░░░░░ agree with I mean ░░░░░░░░ ve been reporting on ░░░░░░░░ topics for a quarter ░░░░░░░░ now but sort of ░░░░░░░░ Hey look we re ░░░░░░░░ country that spends 4 ░░░░░░░░ trillion on health care ░░░░░░░░ have some of the ░░░░░░░░ health outcomes in the ░░░░░░░░ world That s true ░░░░░░░░ a lot of it ░░░░░░░░ has to do with ░░░░░░░░ food It s projected ░░░░░░░░ may have seen a ░░░░░░░░ that just came out ░░░░░░░░ by the year 2050 ░░░░░░░░ more than a quarter ░░░░░░░░ people in the United ░░░░░░░░ will be overweight or ░░░░░░░░ These are legitimate problems ░░░░░░░░ people have been talking ░░░░░░░░ this for a long ░░░░░░░░ and it s something ░░░░░░░░ he also talks about ░░░░░░░░ has I think broad ░░░░░░░░ of support Exactly how ░░░░░░░░ s going to address ░░░░░░░░ issues that s the ░░░░░░░░ Is he going to ░░░░░░░░ it in a scientifically ░░░░░░░░ way I mean simply ░░░░░░░░ changing certain foods around ░░░░░░░░ not solve the problem ░░░░░░░░ it comes up things ░░░░░░░░ fluoride and I would ░░░░░░░░ tell you this when ░░░░░░░░ hear about a lot ░░░░░░░░ these issues think about ░░░░░░░░ idea that it s ░░░░░░░░ the dose that makes ░░░░░░░░ poison And what I ░░░░░░░░ by that is that ░░░░░░░░ in high doses can ░░░░░░░░ a neurotoxin We know ░░░░░░░░ But that s why ░░░░░░░░ s regulated in our ░░░░░░░░ supply to not get ░░░░░░░░ those high levels When ░░░░░░░░ talks about things like ░░░░░░░░ for example Ivermectin in ░░░░░░░░ test tube could be ░░░░░░░░ antiviral It can actually ░░░░░░░░ antiviral effects The problem ░░░░░░░░ to get to the ░░░░░░░░ necessary in the human ░░░░░░░░ to get those antiviral ░░░░░░░░ it would be toxic ░░░░░░░░ a lot of what ░░░░░░░░ hear from RFK Jr ░░░░░░░░ imminently make sense because ░░░░░░░░ ll say well Ivermectin ░░░░░░░░ kill viruses in a ░░░░░░░░ tube but not in ░░░░░░░░ terms because you could ░░░░░░░░ apply that to the ░░░░░░░░ body And I just ░░░░░░░░ you that Erica because ░░░░░░░░ this goes forward that ░░░░░░░░ something to sort of ░░░░░░░░ in the back of ░░░░░░░░ mind What actually works ░░░░░░░░ the lab versus what ░░░░░░░░ actually works in the ░░░░░░░░ body that s the ░░░░░░░░ that scientists live because ░░░░░░░░ gotta translate some of ░░░░░░░░ ideas into actual therapies ░░░░░░░░ Right and another reason ░░░░░░░░ keep you close at ░░░░░░░░ times Dr Sanjay Gupta ░░░░░░░░ that we have to ░░░░░░░░ in all seriousness
