John Kerry: First Amendment Stands as a Major Block to Us Hammering Disinformation ‘Out of Existence’

KERRY It s so ░░░░░░░░ Everybody is wrestling with ░░░░░░░░ right now and I ░░░░░░░░ the dislike of and ░░░░░░░░ over social media is ░░░░░░░░ growing and growing and ░░░░░░░░ And it s part ░░░░░░░░ our problem particularly in ░░░░░░░░ in terms of building ░░░░░░░░ around any issue It ░░░░░░░░ really hard to govern ░░░░░░░░ You can t you ░░░░░░░░ there s no referees ░░░░░░░░ used to have to ░░░░░░░░ what s a fact ░░░░░░░░ what isn t a ░░░░░░░░ have kind of you ░░░░░░░░ been eviscerated to a ░░░░░░░░ degree And people go ░░░░░░░░ then people self select ░░░░░░░░ they go for their ░░░░░░░░ or for their information ░░░░░░░░ then you just get ░░░░░░░░ a vicious cycle So ░░░░░░░░ s really really hard ░░░░░░░░ harder to build consensus ░░░░░░░░ than at any time ░░░░░░░░ 45 50 years I ░░░░░░░░ been involved in this ░░░░░░░░ you know there is ░░░░░░░░ lot of discussion now ░░░░░░░░ how you curb those ░░░░░░░░ in order to guarantee ░░░░░░░░ you re going have ░░░░░░░░ accountability on facts etc ░░░░░░░░ look if people go ░░░░░░░░ only one source and ░░░░░░░░ source they go to ░░░░░░░░ sick and has an ░░░░░░░░ and they are putting ░░░░░░░░ disinformation our First Amendment ░░░░░░░░ as a major block ░░░░░░░░ the ability to be ░░░░░░░░ to just hammer it ░░░░░░░░ of existence So what ░░░░░░░░ need is to win ░░░░░░░░ ground win the right ░░░░░░░░ govern by hopefully having ░░░░░░░░ know winning enough votes ░░░░░░░░ you re free to ░░░░░░░░ able to implement change ░░░░░░░░ obviously there are some ░░░░░░░░ in our country who ░░░░░░░░ prepared to implementing change ░░░░░░░░ other ways.”
