talk ░░░░░░░░ why you started this ░░░░░░░░ early on in my ░░░░░░░░ training I just witnessed ░░░░░░░░ much suffering of my ░░░░░░░░ in and around the ░░░░░░░░ of their lives These ░░░░░░░░ often frail older adults ░░░░░░░░ I realize that nothing ░░░░░░░░ were doing in the ░░░░░░░░ You is going to ░░░░░░░░ back the clock on ░░░░░░░░ age or cure their ░░░░░░░░ disease because by default ░░░░░░░░ this country right if ░░░░░░░░ show to hospital you ░░░░░░░░ to get very aggressive ░░░░░░░░ treatments unless you opt ░░░░░░░░ loudly or have somebody ░░░░░░░░ on your behalf and ░░░░░░░░ that plays out as ░░░░░░░░ people get care that ░░░░░░░░ not in line with ░░░░░░░░ goals and their values ░░░░░░░░ very often while because ░░░░░░░░ you are having someone ░░░░░░░░ sometimes their emotions run ░░░░░░░░ into Maybe what you ░░░░░░░░ t want to that ░░░░░░░░ right yeah You had ░░░░░░░░ mother pass from leukemia ░░░░░░░░ you got involved with ░░░░░░░░ well You were House ░░░░░░░░ at the symposium last ░░░░░░░░ at what is a ░░░░░░░░ like to talk about ░░░░░░░░ As we were saying ░░░░░░░░ s something that s ░░░░░░░░ as we like to ░░░░░░░░ about people find as ░░░░░░░░ yeah but it s ░░░░░░░░ This is something real ░░░░░░░░ it s is one ░░░░░░░░ that we re all ░░░░░░░░ to go through No ░░░░░░░░ who you are we ░░░░░░░░ all going to pass ░░░░░░░░ I think it s ░░░░░░░░ About what happens when ░░░░░░░░ re grieving What happens ░░░░░░░░ someone s in hospice ░░░░░░░░ those things and what ░░░░░░░░ loved about hosting as ░░░░░░░░ had a front row ░░░░░░░░ to everything I was ░░░░░░░░ about how to do ░░░░░░░░ an emotional caregiver and ░░░░░░░░ years and caregiving for ░░░░░░░░ dad and and I ░░░░░░░░ to be prepared for ░░░░░░░░ inevitability That s coming ░░░░░░░░ him as well so ░░░░░░░░ say lean into a ░░░░░░░░ a conversation once you ░░░░░░░░ to talk about it ░░░░░░░░ you can continue to ░░░░░░░░ like we do and ░░░░░░░░ s ok Because talk ░░░░░░░░ this like just it ░░░░░░░░ about yeah because you ░░░░░░░░ t think about it ░░░░░░░░ it s happening and ░░░░░░░░ for yourself it s ░░░░░░░░ conversation to have Why ░░░░░░░░ there such a stigma ░░░░░░░░ you found when you ░░░░░░░░ talking to people because ░░░░░░░░ know I ve been ░░░░░░░░ you at events from ░░░░░░░░ are like What are ░░░░░░░░ talking about we re ░░░░░░░░ about death What what ░░░░░░░░ it yeah I mean ░░░░░░░░ think if you if ░░░░░░░░ look at history right ░░░░░░░░ hundred years ago people ░░░░░░░░ in their own homes ░░░░░░░░ by family and community ░░░░░░░░ They were much younger ░░░░░░░░ we didn t have ░░░░░░░░ lot of medical technology ░░░░░░░░ then but death at ░░░░░░░░ point we sort of ░░░░░░░░ and planned for people ░░░░░░░░ knew what to do ░░░░░░░░ ritual with dying and ░░░░░░░░ with huh hospitals which ░░░░░░░░ fantastic Of course we ░░░░░░░░ t necessarily have it ░░░░░░░░ part of our lives ░░░░░░░░ again we don t ░░░░░░░░ the words to think ░░░░░░░░ it or to talk ░░░░░░░░ it and we re ░░░░░░░░ thinking about it Data ░░░░░░░░ we don t see ░░░░░░░░ as a part of ░░░░░░░░ which it truly is ░░░░░░░░ that s where all ░░░░░░░░ Yet we don t ░░░░░░░░ out of this alive ░░░░░░░░ know but Well and ░░░░░░░░ s do haven t ░░░░░░░░ through your experience and ░░░░░░░░ find certain conversations easier ░░░░░░░░ others You have tips ░░░░░░░░ people as to how ░░░░░░░░ approach some of those ░░░░░░░░ you know what I ░░░░░░░░ from this symposium less ░░░░░░░░ There s a thing ░░░░░░░░ of death Do us ░░░░░░░░ the same you have ░░░░░░░░ birthday and we have ░░░░░░░░ author come coming this ░░░░░░░░ They help you plan ░░░░░░░░ affairs and maybe play ░░░░░░░░ how you want to ░░░░░░░░ out and so I ░░░░░░░░ learning like I could ░░░░░░░░ my friends come and ░░░░░░░░ up a piece of ░░░░░░░░ when I m gone ░░░░░░░░ I could have picked ░░░░░░░░ person to sing for ░░░░░░░░ it doesn t have ░░░░░░░░ be the worst thing ░░░░░░░░ It s gonna be ░░░░░░░░ there s going to ░░░░░░░░ grief but let s ░░░░░░░░ out of a beautiful ░░░░░░░░ and that s one ░░░░░░░░ the things that I ░░░░░░░░ you know just prepare ░░░░░░░░ some way for it ░░░░░░░░ I lost my father ░░░░░░░░ he has this last ░░░░░░░░ It was so sorry ░░░░░░░░ you devastating but what ░░░░░░░░ it really showed me ░░░░░░░░ last year end well ░░░░░░░░ know I realize just ░░░░░░░░ important that in human ░░░░░░░░ the supportive community grace ░░░░░░░░ these tough times is ░░░░░░░░ I decided to share ░░░░░░░░ experience My story with ░░░░░░░░ others about being a ░░░░░░░░ of being patient myself ░░░░░░░░ this
