RUSH TRANSCRIPT SCIUTTO Tonight ░░░░░░░░ of storm evacuees are ░░░░░░░░ shelter in cities well ░░░░░░░░ of Houston Dallas Fort ░░░░░░░░ as well as San ░░░░░░░░ We are joined by ░░░░░░░░ Congressman Joaquin Castro He ░░░░░░░░ in San Antonio I ░░░░░░░░ your city has done ░░░░░░░░ great deal to help ░░░░░░░░ in the many evacuees ░░░░░░░░ the Houston area How ░░░░░░░░ are you seeing and ░░░░░░░░ many more do you ░░░░░░░░ to see Castro Well ░░░░░░░░ the course of the ░░░░░░░░ several days we ve ░░░░░░░░ thousands many of them ░░░░░░░░ in the first wave ░░░░░░░░ got hit from Corpus ░░░░░░░░ and the Gulf Coast ░░░░░░░░ So they came over ░░░░░░░░ San Antonio The challenge ░░░░░░░░ a lot of people ░░░░░░░░ in Houston is that ░░░░░░░░ storm originally was not ░░░░░░░░ to go there In ░░░░░░░░ San Antonio was supposed ░░░░░░░░ get hit And for ░░░░░░░░ most part we ve ░░░░░░░░ spared a lot of ░░░░░░░░ hardly any damage And ░░░░░░░░ a lot of folks ░░░░░░░░ Houston didn t evacuate ░░░░░░░░ didn t come to ░░░░░░░░ Antonio or to other ░░░░░░░░ But the mayor in ░░░░░░░░ Antonio has worked with ░░░░░░░░ mayor in Houston and ░░░░░░░░ anything we can do ░░░░░░░░ help And I believe ░░░░░░░░ we ve sent supplies ░░░░░░░░ manpower to be helpful ░░░░░░░░ Houston already SCIUTTO We ░░░░░░░░ talked to a number ░░░░░░░░ the evacuees who have ░░░░░░░░ told they may not ░░░░░░░░ able to return to ░░░░░░░░ homes for weeks possibly ░░░░░░░░ Is San Antonio prepared ░░░░░░░░ take in these evacuees ░░░░░░░░ sometime now Castro We ░░░░░░░░ are In fact yesterday ░░░░░░░░ Antonio offered to take ░░░░░░░░ 10 000 evacuees right ░░░░░░░░ We did the same ░░░░░░░░ after Hurricane Katrina as ░░░░░░░░ had to flee New ░░░░░░░░ And so this city ░░░░░░░░ like other cities in ░░░░░░░░ and around the country ░░░░░░░░ step up in any ░░░░░░░░ that it can to ░░░░░░░░ the people of Houston.”
