Johnson scars of systemic ░░░░░░░░ and injustices that had ░░░░░░░░ inflicted on our communities ░░░░░░░░ ve seen them in ░░░░░░░░ that cut through black ░░░░░░░░ and the industries of ░░░░░░░░ that flocked to these ░░░░░░░░ often contributing to increased ░░░░░░░░ and poor health outcomes ░░░░░░░░ see it in the ░░░░░░░░ of course that is ░░░░░░░░ by gun violence But ░░░░░░░░ also saw it firsthand ░░░░░░░░ the gross disinvestment that ░░░░░░░░ intentional by previous administrations ░░░░░░░░ so beautiful neighborhoods like ░░░░░░░░ the Austin neighborhood has ░░░░░░░░ many health disparities the ░░░░░░░░ of nutritious food the ░░░░░░░░ of employment opportunity The ░░░░░░░░ in our communities had ░░░░░░░░ intentional And of course ░░░░░░░░ s why it s ░░░░░░░░ that is now the ░░░░░░░░ to deliver good on ░░░░░░░░ for people of Chicago ░░░░░░░░ particularly black people of ░░░░░░░░ city of Chicago Cheering ░░░░░░░░ Applause Because even as ░░░░░░░░ stand here today as ░░░░░░░░ the legacy of slavery ░░░░░░░░ the aftermath still echoes ░░░░░░░░ We saw it when ░░░░░░░░ administration sold off public ░░░░░░░░ We saw the harm ░░░░░░░░ previous administrations closed black ░░░░░░░░ and they shut down ░░░░░░░░ housing when they raided ░░░░░░░░ pensions these anti black ░░░░░░░░ business endeavors that have ░░░░░░░░ tremendous harm and pain ░░░░░░░░ it s a new ░░░░░░░░ In fact we are ░░░░░░░░ on the shoulders of ░░░░░░░░ of the great leaders ░░░░░░░░ the city Dorothy Tillman ░░░░░░░░ laid the foundation the ░░░░░░░░ to ignite a movement ░░░░░░░░ reparations Applause It was ░░░░░░░░ Tillman that introduced me ░░░░░░░░ Dr Claud Anderson Black ░░░░░░░░ White Wealth and it ░░░░░░░░ why my administration is ░░░░░░░░ to driving reparations home ░░░░░░░░ we re going to ░░░░░░░░ a half a million ░░░░░░░░ into the study of ░░░░░░░░ and reparations for the ░░░░░░░░ of Chicago so that ░░░░░░░░ can begin to move ░░░░░░░░ the direction of complete ░░░░░░░░ And that s why ░░░░░░░░ the help and the ░░░░░░░░ of the Black Caucus ░░░░░░░░ have a brand new ░░░░░░░░ of Re-Entry.”
