protests broke out ░░░░░░░░ campuses across the country ░░░░░░░░ s even one today ░░░░░░░░ Harvard where students are ░░░░░░░░ Chanting free Palestine north ░░░░░░░░ and rutgers cut deals ░░░░░░░░ the protesters to end ░░░░░░░░ encampments on their campuses ░░░░░░░░ backlash for some Jewish ░░░░░░░░ and politicians school leaders ░░░░░░░░ law enforcement are under ░░░░░░░░ for failing to prevent ░░░░░░░░ violent attack on protesters ░░░░░░░░ thirtieth You see alive ░░░░░░░░ a result the university ░░░░░░░░ announced it s police ░░░░░░░░ has been reassigned As ░░░░░░░░ school says it is ░░░░░░░░ the main thing that ░░░░░░░░ m really hoping to ░░░░░░░░ is a concrete plan ░░░░░░░░ president show on how ░░░░░░░░ university will address anti ░░░░░░░░ going forward You know ░░░░░░░░ s mentioned that they ░░░░░░░░ addressed policy violation Wins ░░░░░░░░ instances of anti Semitism ░░░░░░░░ have come up but ░░░░░░░░ the Jewish student perspectives ░░░░░░░░ has not been at ░░░░░░░░ what we re seeing ░░░░░░░░ So I m really ░░░░░░░░ that we get a ░░░░░░░░ sense of what the ░░░░░░░░ is truly going to ░░░░░░░░ moving forward because a ░░░░░░░░ of Jewish students have ░░░░░░░░ faith that the university ░░░░░░░░ really do anything to ░░░░░░░░ us A rutgers president ░░░░░░░░ present today Kelly wow ░░░░░░░░ you expecting to hear ░░░░░░░░ is your hope from ░░░░░░░░ testimony Unfortunately my expectations ░░░░░░░░ really low I ve ░░░░░░░░ this far from the ░░░░░░░░ are emails Condemning anti ░░░░░░░░ No student Jewish student ░░░░░░░░ have been involved in ░░░░░░░░ process thus far so ░░░░░░░░ expectations are low How ░░░░░░░░ each of you feel ░░░░░░░░ colleges and universities yours ░░░░░░░░ negotiating with the protesters ░░░░░░░░ have set up these ░░░░░░░░ Kelly We ve seen ░░░░░░░░ at a number of ░░░░░░░░ Is that the right ░░░░░░░░ What message do you ░░░░░░░░ it sends No I ░░░░░░░░ not think it s ░░░░░░░░ These students on my ░░░░░░░░ are anti peace and ░░░░░░░░ American and negotiating with ░░░░░░░░ is not The answer ░░░░░░░░ think talking to the ░░░░░░░░ students would have been ░░░░░░░░ most the better option ░░░░░░░░ I think action the ░░░░░░░░ taken Unfortunately the protests ░░░░░░░░ our first Our first ░░░░░░░░ because of the the ░░░░░░░░ they were distracting from ░░░░░░░░ so it s just ░░░░░░░░ really unfortunate situation was ░░░░░░░░ handle in the crock ░░░░░░░░ at all and lily ░░░░░░░░ with protesters especially those ░░░░░░░░ on violence What message ░░░░░░░░ you believe it has ░░░░░░░░ at northwestern You know ░░░░░░░░ do think in some ░░░░░░░░ it was good to ░░░░░░░░ the encampment brought down ░░░░░░░░ police intervention We saw ░░░░░░░░ pretty aggressive encounters with ░░░░░░░░ and protesters at other ░░░░░░░░ and I am glad ░░░░░░░░ we were able to ░░░░░░░░ away without that Yet ░░░░░░░░ the president to reach ░░░░░░░░ agreement to take down ░░░░░░░░ encampment infused with anti ░░░░░░░░ without consulting Jewish students ░░░░░░░░ even the committee he ░░░░░░░░ set up to prevent ░░░░░░░░ Semitism and he was ░░░░░░░░ and so Ding and ░░░░░░░░ worse I and countless ░░░░░░░░ Jewish students have spent ░░░░░░░░ meeting with northwestern administrators ░░░░░░░░ working respectfully with them ░░░░░░░░ try to improve the ░░░░░░░░ of life for Jewish ░░░░░░░░ at northwestern through the ░░░░░░░░ channels and we ve ░░░░░░░░ been met with crickets ░░░░░░░░ no concrete action And ░░░░░░░░ instead of Of helping ░░░░░░░░ students who have faced ░░░░░░░░ anti Semitism and intimidation ░░░░░░░░ years It s really ░░░░░░░░ that the school chose ░░░░░░░░ to reward the students ░░░░░░░░ broke the rules by ░░░░░░░░ and perpetuated hate at ░░░░░░░░ schools Harvard included leadership ░░░░░░░░ have done very little ░░░░░░░░ address this issue If ░░░░░░░░ comes to what do ░░░░░░░░ believe the heads of ░░░░░░░░ schools Should change as ░░░░░░░░ result of their response ░░░░░░░░ this a I ll ░░░░░░░░ with you on that ░░░░░░░░ know I think that ░░░░░░░░ a decision That s ░░░░░░░░ to powers far above ░░░░░░░░ though I will be ░░░░░░░░ to see what happens ░░░░░░░░ today s hearing and ░░░░░░░░ also I want to players in so while ░░░░░░░░ don t make that ░░░░░░░░ right now what s ░░░░░░░░ important to me is ░░░░░░░░ the Jewish students the ░░░░░░░░ community can come together ░░░░░░░░ our final two weeks ░░░░░░░░ school that the Jewish ░░░░░░░░ can get through You ░░░░░░░░ hopefully a peaceful grudge ░░░░░░░░ should weekend and we ░░░░░░░░ just close out the ░░░░░░░░ and community yeah don ░░░░░░░░ know how you guys ░░░░░░░░ and concentrate on all ░░░░░░░░ you have on your ░░░░░░░░ when this goes on ░░░░░░░░ and do you believe ░░░░░░░░ leadership change really shifts ░░░░░░░░ a focus on the ░░░░░░░░ to what we re ░░░░░░░░ happen I m not ░░░░░░░░ I hope so I ░░░░░░░░ something will happen Unfortunately ░░░░░░░░ re pro terrorists groups ░░░░░░░░ my campus and I ░░░░░░░░ the first and foremost ░░░░░░░░ is to get those ░░░░░░░░ out on so that ░░░░░░░░ could be a conversation ░░░░░░░░ conversation is needed from ░░░░░░░░ sides and our campus ░░░░░░░░ these students are not ░░░░░░░░ a
