Gillibrand: Biden Can’t Reverse His Reversal of Trump Immigration Policies

one of the ░░░░░░░░ that we as a ░░░░░░░░ talk about is support ░░░░░░░░ troops support our troops ░░░░░░░░ I think a lot ░░░░░░░░ times once they are ░░░░░░░░ longer active duty that ░░░░░░░░ kind of wanes when ░░░░░░░░ re veterans particularly in ░░░░░░░░ VA system Tell us ░░░░░░░░ what you re talking ░░░░░░░░ that s been done ░░░░░░░░ try and help some ░░░░░░░░ those veterans GILLIBRAND Well ░░░░░░░░ of the things we ░░░░░░░░ is that a lot ░░░░░░░░ veterans that served during ░░░░░░░░ war on terror were ░░░░░░░░ horrific diseases lung cancers ░░░░░░░░ cancers brain cancers and ░░░░░░░░ realized it was because ░░░░░░░░ were exposed to very ░░░░░░░░ fumes from burn pits ░░░░░░░░ we were fighting wars ░░░░░░░░ Afghanistan and Iraq they ░░░░░░░░ t have a lot ░░░░░░░░ sanitation so oftentimes they ░░░░░░░░ dig big holes and ░░░░░░░░ all the garbage in ░░░░░░░░ and light it on ░░░░░░░░ with jet fuel And ░░░░░░░░ we remember 9 11 ░░░░░░░░ was similar the towers ░░░░░░░░ lit on fire by ░░░░░░░░ fuel and the toxins ░░░░░░░░ were created at 9 ░░░░░░░░ created the same cancers ░░░░░░░░ we got to work ░░░░░░░░ a lot of the ░░░░░░░░ coalition and we passed ░░░░░░░░ law that said if ░░░░░░░░ are exposed to these ░░░░░░░░ at a burn pit ░░░░░░░░ during the war on ░░░░░░░░ you were covered presumptively ░░░░░░░░ so now 3 5 ░░░░░░░░ veterans have access to ░░░░░░░░ care that have to ░░░░░░░░ what exposure they had ░░░░░░░░ the exposure was from ░░░░░░░░ that it caused river ░░░░░░░░ Now it s presumptive ░░░░░░░░ re covered Reporter 1 ░░░░░░░░ think that s the ░░░░░░░░ thing it s just ░░░░░░░░ the process is broken ░░░░░░░░ 1 So do you ░░░░░░░░ it s going to ░░░░░░░░ brought up in front ░░░░░░░░ the Senate one that ░░░░░░░░ will get passed Because ░░░░░░░░ ve seen bipartisan agreement ░░░░░░░░ happened earlier and then ░░░░░░░░ House stopped it and ░░░░░░░░ We re not going ░░░░░░░░ do it because no ░░░░░░░░ wants to do it ░░░░░░░░ an election year GILLIBRAND ░░░░░░░░ So we re gonna ░░░░░░░░ the vote this week ░░░░░░░░ may pass in the ░░░░░░░░ it was bipartisan in ░░░░░░░░ writing and drafting but ░░░░░░░░ Trump former President Trump ░░░░░░░░ come out to say ░░░░░░░░ don t want any ░░░░░░░░ to immigration which is ░░░░░░░░ cynical and terrible for ░░░░░░░░ state like New York ░░░░░░░░ we need these laws ░░░░░░░░ Reporter 2 But the ░░░░░░░░ can change ░░░░░░░░ things through executive order ░░░░░░░░ will be sued he ░░░░░░░░ or may not win ░░░░░░░░ court But the point ░░░░░░░░ we re urging him ░░░░░░░░ to do what you ░░░░░░░░ if Congress was doing ░░░░░░░░ job because Congress is ░░░░░░░░ doing their job they ░░░░░░░░ not vote on this ░░░░░░░░ Can t he reverse ░░░░░░░░ he reversed GILLIBRAND No ░░░░░░░░ law on asylum is ░░░░░░░░ clear If you have ░░░░░░░░ collaraboral claim that you ░░░░░░░░ coming from a horrible ░░░░░░░░ that has horrible things ░░░░░░░░ you have a right ░░░░░░░░ come here The problem ░░░░░░░░ the process is taking ░░░░░░░░ long we need to ░░░░░░░░ it And the other ░░░░░░░░ we need is emergency ░░░░░░░░ visas Our governor should ░░░░░░░░ able to issue emergency ░░░░░░░░ visas We have 200 ░░░░░░░░ open jobs we have ░░░░░░░░ 000 migrants We can ░░░░░░░░ them all We need ░░░░░░░░ in our healthcare system ░░░░░░░░ need workers in our ░░░░░░░░ our restaurants our farms ░░░░░░░░ 2 Are they skilled ░░░░░░░░ I GILLIBRAND So those types ░░░░░░░░ changes would make the ░░░░░░░░ work better Those changes ░░░░░░░░ in this bill so ░░░░░░░░ re going to get ░░░░░░░░ vote on it and ░░░░░░░░ m hopeful it s ░░░░░░░░
