McCaskill: ‘I Struggle with Grasping the Reality that Our Country Elected’ Trump

grave risk ░░░░░░░░ took some time today ░░░░░░░░ to read through the ░░░░░░░░ of the most heinous ░░░░░░░░ on January 6 The ░░░░░░░░ that took an electric ░░░░░░░░ to the neck of ░░░░░░░░ police officer the ones ░░░░░░░░ gouged at the police ░░░░░░░░ s eyes the ones ░░░░░░░░ body slammed police officers ░░░░░░░░ marble statues rendering them ░░░░░░░░ These are the people ░░░░░░░░ he opened his rallies ░░░░░░░░ and promises to pardon ░░░░░░░░ I would say to ░░░░░░░░ Thune and John Cornyn ░░░░░░░░ re wanting to lead ░░░░░░░░ Republican Party in the ░░░░░░░░ States Senate That is ░░░░░░░░ great responsibility The risk ░░░░░░░░ are taking by not ░░░░░░░░ out against this man ░░░░░░░░ one that history will ░░░░░░░░ attention to Because if ░░░░░░░░ s willing to pardon ░░░░░░░░ people that did that ░░░░░░░░ you know what he ░░░░░░░░ capable of doing They ░░░░░░░░ And the idea that ░░░░░░░░ re sacrificing all of ░░░░░░░░ rather than leading their ░░░░░░░░ out of the wilderness ░░░░░░░░ re cowering They re ░░░░░░░░ behind trees saying Please ░░░░░░░░ t look at me ░░░░░░░░ I don t want ░░░░░░░░ say I endorse him ░░░░░░░░ gosh I kind of ░░░░░░░░ to because if I ░░░░░░░░ t my party will ░░░░░░░░ mad at me Claim ░░░░░░░░ party claim your values ░░░░░░░░ your integrity and stand ░░░░░░░░ to this guy It ░░░░░░░░ t be this hard ░░░░░░░░ Wallace And I think ░░░░░░░░ is disturbing and what actually says ░░░░░░░░ does are either shielded ░░░░░░░░ edited or contextualized for ░░░░░░░░ own supporters and so ░░░░░░░░ Trump in his own ░░░░░░░░ Trump in his own ░░░░░░░░ horrific threats The first such threat ░░░░░░░░ 23 was logged on ░░░░░░░░ 18 2023 the same ░░░░░░░░ that that defendant falsely ░░░░░░░░ on social media that ░░░░░░░░ was about to be ░░░░░░░░ in connection with this ░░░░░░░░ and called for his ░░░░░░░░ to protest take our ░░░░░░░░ back He has used ░░░░░░░░ criminal proceedings to turn ░░░░░░░░ base into human shields ░░░░░░░░ I guess to your ░░░░░░░░ Claire why do you ░░░░░░░░ they keep going along ░░░░░░░░ it McCaskill I think ░░░░░░░░ want the power They ░░░░░░░░ too afraid of what ░░░░░░░░ on the other side ░░░░░░░░ standing up to him ░░░░░░░░ see where the ░░░░░░░░ part out loud And ░░░░░░░░ is he got the ░░░░░░░░ on January 6 to ░░░░░░░░ police officers and to ░░░░░░░░ windows and destroy our ░░░░░░░░ s Capitol And you ░░░░░░░░ t think that any ░░░░░░░░ those same people would ░░░░░░░░ willing to hurt the ░░░░░░░░ involved in this trial ░░░░░░░░ course they would Of ░░░░░░░░ they would In some ░░░░░░░░ that is less brazen ░░░░░░░░ what they did on ░░░░░░░░ 6 So it is ░░░░░░░░ I say I think ░░░░░░░░ folks are taking a ░░░░░░░░ risk I don t ░░░░░░░░ how they sleep at ░░░░░░░░ I really don’t.”
