HARLOW I got a ░░░░░░░░ message this morning from ░░░░░░░░ within the company saying ░░░░░░░░ executives don t write ░░░░░░░░ They lobby for it ░░░░░░░░ lobby against it What ░░░░░░░░ you make of that ░░░░░░░░ DURBIN Well there s ░░░░░░░░ truth to that That ░░░░░░░░ the bottom line but ░░░░░░░░ good news is we ░░░░░░░░ off with five bills ░░░░░░░░ passed unanimously out of ░░░░░░░░ committee That I think ░░░░░░░░ our template that we ░░░░░░░░ to bring to the ░░░░░░░░ of the United States ░░░░░░░░ Now I know the ░░░░░░░░ as well as most ░░░░░░░░ and I will tell ░░░░░░░░ that to get this ░░░░░░░░ you have to have ░░░░░░░░ bipartisan major and agreement ░░░░░░░░ time and amendments That ░░░░░░░░ not easy in a ░░░░░░░░ that is designed to ░░░░░░░░ and kill legislation right ░░░░░░░░ left I think we ░░░░░░░░ do it I think ░░░░░░░░ political force you saw ░░░░░░░░ that hearing in that ░░░░░░░░ can make a difference ░░░░░░░░ 20 six words in ░░░░░░░░ law mean that these ░░░░░░░░ often can t be ░░░░░░░░ and that is known ░░░░░░░░ Section 230 It sounds ░░░░░░░░ but it s not ░░░░░░░░ It basically says they ░░░░░░░░ not media companies they ░░░░░░░░ t be held liable ░░░░░░░░ what is put on ░░░░░░░░ platforms I know you ░░░░░░░░ t want to get ░░░░░░░░ of it but how ░░░░░░░░ it be changed so ░░░░░░░░ kids are protected and ░░░░░░░░ is responsibility and ownership ░░░░░░░░ some of this stuff ░░░░░░░░ Well if the industry ░░░░░░░░ and I think they ░░░░░░░░ coming to the belief ░░░░░░░░ they have to do ░░░░░░░░ significant significant that makes ░░░░░░░░ difference Otherwise Section 230 ░░░░░░░░ on the block I ░░░░░░░░ not going to protect ░░░░░░░░ at the expense of ░░░░░░░░ children If these leaders ░░░░░░░░ industry are willing to ░░░░░░░░ forward with significant meaningful ░░░░░░░░ changes I am up ░░░░░░░░ listening for it but ░░░░░░░░ bottom line is if ░░░░░░░░ has to go it ░░░░░░░░ to go HARLOW That ░░░░░░░░ a significant development from ░░░░░░░░ because you had been ░░░░░░░░ favor of reforming it ░░░░░░░░ you know this is ░░░░░░░░ big protection for them ░░░░░░░░ if it were to ░░░░░░░░ that is significant.”
