KAY Doctor thank you ░░░░░░░░ writing book I love ░░░░░░░░ word legacy because it ░░░░░░░░ also part of your ░░░░░░░░ s amazing legacy To ░░░░░░░░ three doctors in one ░░░░░░░░ is remarkable especially when ░░░░░░░░ are so few black ░░░░░░░░ doctors in the country ░░░░░░░░ talk a little bit ░░░░░░░░ how you look in ░░░░░░░░ book at the history ░░░░░░░░ the medical system how ░░░░░░░░ were really no opportunities ░░░░░░░░ black people to learn ░░░░░░░░ because they weren t ░░░░░░░░ schools that admitted black ░░░░░░░░ in American history and ░░░░░░░░ that the legacy of ░░░░░░░░ impacts the kinds of ░░░░░░░░ kinds of data that ░░░░░░░░ ve just spoken about ░░░░░░░░ the disparities between health ░░░░░░░░ for black and white ░░░░░░░░ still in the country ░░░░░░░░ Right Well thank you ░░░░░░░░ much for asking that ░░░░░░░░ Because we look at ░░░░░░░░ today and say why ░░░░░░░░ there so few black ░░░░░░░░ And that s because ░░░░░░░░ reports and policies like ░░░░░░░░ Flexner Report in 1910 ░░░░░░░░ led to the closure ░░░░░░░░ historically black medical schools ░░░░░░░░ out of seven medical ░░░░░░░░ that would have trained ░░░░░░░░ 25 000 and 35 ░░░░░░░░ black doctors And so ░░░░░░░░ think about this recent ░░░░░░░░ decision on race conscious ░░░░░░░░ and how that could ░░░░░░░░ a similar impact on ░░░░░░░░ diversity of our healthcare ░░░░░░░░ and ultimately on the ░░░░░░░░ of black communities.”
