Mara Gay: Claudine Gay’s Resignation Is an Attack on Multi-Culturalism, It’s Racism

BRZEZINSKI Mara Gay just ░░░░░░░░ at what s been ░░░░░░░░ on campuses across the ░░░░░░░░ your take on this ░░░░░░░░ news GAY Well I ░░░░░░░░ there s a lot ░░░░░░░░ on here And so ░░░░░░░░ just want to be ░░░░░░░░ BRZEZINSKI Yeah GAY that ░░░░░░░░ contextualize everything properly The ░░░░░░░░ that really disturbs me ░░░░░░░░ the unrelenting campaign from ░░░░░░░░ right and from some ░░░░░░░░ activists to slander discredit ░░░░░░░░ ultimately I guess you ░░░░░░░░ somebody used the phrase ░░░░░░░░ ve claimed a scalp ░░░░░░░░ think on social media ░░░░░░░░ know to essentially unseat ░░░░░░░░ and other presidents as ░░░░░░░░ when they don t ░░░░░░░░ you know not just ░░░░░░░░ handling of the horrific ░░░░░░░░ on Israel on October ░░░░░░░░ the way that that ░░░░░░░░ handled on campus but ░░░░░░░░ anything else that they ░░░░░░░░ t like about not ░░░░░░░░ these presidents but actually ░░░░░░░░ they would call wokeism ░░░░░░░░ campus So this is ░░░░░░░░ an attack on academic ░░░░░░░░ It s an attack ░░░░░░░░ people who are pluralists ░░░░░░░░ believe that you should ░░░░░░░░ people from all over ░░░░░░░░ world together of diverse ░░░░░░░░ and that you you ░░░░░░░░ have more scholarly rigor ░░░░░░░░ and more value can ░░░░░░░░ brought by having people ░░░░░░░░ different backgrounds This is ░░░░░░░░ attack on diversity This ░░░░░░░░ an attack on multiculturalism ░░░░░░░░ on many of the ░░░░░░░░ that a lot of ░░░░░░░░ hold dear and in ░░░░░░░░ anybody really who is ░░░░░░░░ my age in their ░░░░░░░░ who went to any ░░░░░░░░ major public university or ░░░░░░░░ university in this country ░░░░░░░░ know these are values ░░░░░░░░ are very important And ░░░░░░░░ think that s why ░░░░░░░░ presidents are under attack ░░░░░░░░ s why Claudine Gay ░░░░░░░░ under attack The fact ░░░░░░░░ she s a black ░░░░░░░░ and the first person ░░░░░░░░ is a black American ░░░░░░░░ lead Harvard only added ░░░░░░░░ their thirst to dethrone ░░░░░░░░ And you know those ░░░░░░░░ you don t have ░░░░░░░░ I don t have ░░░░░░░░ say that they re ░░░░░░░░ because you can hear ░░░░░░░░ see the racism in ░░░░░░░░ attacks when people like ░░░░░░░░ Ramaswamy say you know ░░░░░░░░ this is this is ░░░░░░░░ problem about diversity in ░░░░░░░░ I mean this is ░░░░░░░░ as well So there ░░░░░░░░ a lot of different ░░░░░░░░ here but I don ░░░░░░░░ want to miss the ░░░░░░░░ on academic freedom And ░░░░░░░░ think it s much ░░░░░░░░ to target women or ░░░░░░░░ of color but ultimately ░░░░░░░░ s not going to ░░░░░░░░ there And BRZEZINSKI Yeah ░░░░░░░░ and I really hope ░░░░░░░░ we can stand up ░░░░░░░░ academic freedom you know ░░░░░░░░ matter who the target ░░░░░░░░ of these campaigns.”
