Mary Katharine Ham: You Aren’t Going to Solve Health Care by Doing This Entirely in Secret

care negotiation and say ░░░░░░░░ will demonstrate their displeasure ░░░░░░░░ using procedural rules to ░░░░░░░░ most Senate business starting ░░░░░░░░ We have an insane ░░░░░░░░ Insane Here you have ░░░░░░░░ which deals with one ░░░░░░░░ of the American economy ░░░░░░░░ s the health care ░░░░░░░░ And there are Republicans ░░░░░░░░ haven t even seen ░░░░░░░░ legislation and certainly no ░░░░░░░░ in the democratic caucus ░░░░░░░░ What kind of process ░░░░░░░░ it that when you ░░░░░░░░ with an issue that ░░░░░░░░ tens of millions of ░░░░░░░░ in this country Republicans ░░░░░░░░ t even have the ░░░░░░░░ to allow it to ░░░░░░░░ to a committee where ░░░░░░░░ can have an open ░░░░░░░░ where questions can be ░░░░░░░░ Republicans call the democratic ░░░░░░░░ tactics a stunt Republican ░░░░░░░░ Rubio of Florida says ░░░░░░░░ s okay to work ░░░░░░░░ complicated stuff in private ░░░░░░░░ to a point That ░░░░░░░░ to at least have ░░░░░░░░ vote in the Senate ░░░░░░░░ hope it s a ░░░░░░░░ that allows plenty of ░░░░░░░░ for debate analysis changes ░░░░░░░░ input If that s ░░░░░░░░ process we follow it ░░░░░░░░ be fine If it ░░░░░░░░ an effort to rush ░░░░░░░░ from a small group ░░░░░░░░ their own conference getting ░░░░░░░░ support They cannot lose ░░░░░░░░ than two votes They ░░░░░░░░ already almost certainly they ░░░░░░░░ lose Rand Paul and ░░░░░░░░ Collins Then you have ░░░░░░░░ whole bunch of senators ░░░░░░░░ come from Medicaid expansion ░░░░░░░░ who are concerned about ░░░░░░░░ cuts they are talking ░░░░░░░░ here People who are ░░░░░░░░ for re election like ░░░░░░░░ heller on a difficult ░░░░░░░░ as well as conservatives ░░░░░░░░ Mike Lee of Utah ░░░░░░░░ Cruz if this bill ░░░░░░░░ to the left in ░░░░░░░░ areas in order to ░░░░░░░░ more moderate members McConnell ░░░░░░░░ being said McConnell still ░░░░░░░░ a vote by next ░░░░░░░░ Marco Rubio says it ░░░░░░░░ be open and a ░░░░░░░░ process The procedure they ░░░░░░░░ using is designed to ░░░░░░░░ circuit the to see a bill ░░░░░░░░ we have a vote ░░░░░░░░ it that s just ░░░░░░░░ a good way to ░░░░░░░░ something that is as ░░░░░░░░ and important as health ░░░░░░░░ I think the great ░░░░░░░░ here as you mentioned ░░░░░░░░ the top of the ░░░░░░░░ the Republicans had just ░░░░░░░░ the Democrats for not ░░░░░░░░ open enough about their ░░░░░░░░ care bill yet I ░░░░░░░░ covering President Obama how ░░░░░░░░ health care town halls ░░░░░░░░ efforts did I sort ░░░░░░░░ follow the president around ░░░░░░░░ over the country That ░░░░░░░░ care bill was kind ░░░░░░░░ out and in the ░░░░░░░░ for months and months ░░░░░░░░ months while they all ░░░░░░░░ and that allowed folks ░░░░░░░░ take shots at it ░░░░░░░░ this is a matter ░░░░░░░░ days We can still ░░░░░░░░ how angry Democrats got ░░░░░░░░ the Obama White House ░░░░░░░░ leaving the process open ░░░░░░░░ allowing then chairman max ░░░░░░░░ of the finance committee ░░░░░░░░ work with Chuck Grassley ░░░░░░░░ Republican and other Republicans
