Rep. Pelosi: Defense Bill Without Abortion, Trans Rights ‘Is a Tragedy’

SCARBOROUGH has done an ░░░░░░░░ job And Pelosi Extraordinary ░░░░░░░░ so grateful for for ░░░░░░░░ participation in it as ░░░░░░░░ I wanted to I ░░░░░░░░ to ask you I ░░░░░░░░ when I served on ░░░░░░░░ Armed Services Committee the ░░░░░░░░ I know I I ░░░░░░░░ you heard the same ░░░░░░░░ the generals and the ░░░░░░░░ man they would they ░░░░░░░░ they would get a ░░░░░░░░ of me and they ░░░░░░░░ say What What is ░░░░░░░░ on Why do you ░░░░░░░░ all of these extremists ░░░░░░░░ social issues into defense ░░░░░░░░ debates and holding up ░░░░░░░░ attempts to make our ░░░░░░░░ like readiness the best ░░░░░░░░ our weapons the toughest ░░░░░░░░ all these stuff And ░░░░░░░░ so Republicans it seems ░░░░░░░░ the past several years ░░░░░░░░ been saying Oh the ░░░░░░░░ they ve been trying ░░░░░░░░ bring social issues into ░░░░░░░░ Pentagon That actually is ░░░░░░░░ what they say is ░░░░░░░░ or confession They re ░░░░░░░░ ones doing it And ░░░░░░░░ m just curious how ░░░░░░░░ how mind bending it ░░░░░░░░ that the very people ░░░░░░░░ say Oh Democrats are ░░░░░░░░ the military woke when ░░░░░░░░ course our military is ░░░░░░░░ than it s ever ░░░░░░░░ They re the same ░░░░░░░░ that are bringing like ░░░░░░░░ about drag queens and ░░░░░░░░ abortion positions into our ░░░░░░░░ budget and harming America ░░░░░░░░ readiness Pelosi Yeah Well ░░░░░░░░ we take an oath ░░░░░░░░ protect and defend our ░░░░░░░░ and our military is ░░░░░░░░ very important way that ░░░░░░░░ do that our intelligence ░░░░░░░░ as well and the ░░░░░░░░ of of our economy ░░░░░░░░ is connected in all ░░░░░░░░ this But what they ░░░░░░░░ doing now is almost ░░░░░░░░ If you take what ░░░░░░░░ House Republicans have done ░░░░░░░░ our defense bill as ░░░░░░░░ as what the senator ░░░░░░░░ Alabama is doing in ░░░░░░░░ Senate to hold up ░░░░░░░░ confirmations of people who ░░░░░░░░ to be in the ░░░░░░░░ of duty to take ░░░░░░░░ to protect the American ░░░░░░░░ it just doesn t ░░░░░░░░ s it s again ░░░░░░░░ because again we re ░░░░░░░░ there to protect and ░░░░░░░░ our country The bill ░░░░░░░░ came out of the ░░░░░░░░ Services Committee a committee ░░░░░░░░ served on was very ░░░░░░░░ I think it had ░░░░░░░░ no vote It was ░░░░░░░░ about 100 percent bipartisan ░░░░░░░░ they came to the ░░░░░░░░ and started really messing ░░░░░░░░ it It s a ░░░░░░░░ It s really sad ░░░░░░░░ I don t understand ░░░░░░░░ you ve been so ░░░░░░░░ and so courageous as ░░░░░░░░ former Republican member of ░░░░░░░░ whom I was proud ░░░░░░░░ serve with and we ░░░░░░░░ together on human rights ░░░░░░░░ China and so many ░░░░░░░░ issues And where are ░░░░░░░░ Republicans in our country ░░░░░░░░ are they not speaking ░░░░░░░░ Because this is again ░░░░░░░░ I know Pelosi take ░░░░░░░░ your party This is ░░░░░░░░ Grand Old Party It ░░░░░░░░ done SCARBOROUGH Yeah Pelosi ░░░░░░░░ things for our country ░░░░░░░░ what are we caught ░░░░░░░░ this situation and of ░░░░░░░░ the fact that they ░░░░░░░░ to ignore the violations ░░░░░░░░ law of the former ░░░░░░░░ is inconsistent with their ░░░░░░░░ statements So again elections ░░░░░░░░ ramifications on happily in ░░░░░░░░ place where I can ░░░░░░░░ to be working politically ░░░░░░░░ I would hope that ░░░░░░░░ could be we could ░░░░░░░░ working in a unifying ░░░░░░░░ to bring people together ░░░░░░░░ Republicans declined to just ░░░░░░░░ as we call them ░░░░░░░░ California so that we ░░░░░░░░ there to honor our ░░░░░░░░ to uphold the law ░░░░░░░░ one is above it ░░░░░░░░ to be respectful of ░░░░░░░░ Because that again is ░░░░░░░░ important for our country ░░░░░░░░ m there for the ░░░░░░░░ And so my judgment ░░░░░░░░ anybody is whether whether ░░░░░░░░ they are doing is ░░░░░░░░ to the children whether ░░░░░░░░ s the air they ░░░░░░░░ the climate crisis that ░░░░░░░░ have their education children ░░░░░░░░ parents earning we have ░░░░░░░░ a wonderful country and ░░░░░░░░ have to recapture some ░░░░░░░░ the the greatness that ░░░░░░░░ has put been put ░░░░░░░░ doubt by the current ░░░░░░░░ in the Republican Party ░░░░░░░░ the Congress of the ░░░░░░░░ States.”
