TAPPER I saw a ░░░░░░░░ suggesting that you know ░░░░░░░░ of the issues Joan ░░░░░░░░ know I think you ░░░░░░░░ the best Supreme Court ░░░░░░░░ in the country and ░░░░░░░░ m on the record ░░░░░░░░ that for the last ░░░░░░░░ years but Nina Totenberg ░░░░░░░░ is very well respected ░░░░░░░░ Supreme Court Reporter from ░░░░░░░░ she was criticized by ░░░░░░░░ s public editor in ░░░░░░░░ for not disclosing her ░░░░░░░░ long relationship with Justice ░░░░░░░░ Bader Ginsburg And this ░░░░░░░░ suggest that one of ░░░░░░░░ problems here is a ░░░░░░░░ of the journalists who ░░░░░░░░ been covering the Supreme ░░░░░░░░ again not you and ░░░░░░░░ a bunch of other ░░░░░░░░ excellent Supreme Court reporters ░░░░░░░░ Jan Crawford and others ░░░░░░░░ some on the right ░░░░░░░░ the left have formed ░░░░░░░░ close relationships that you ░░░░░░░░ have to wonder about ░░░░░░░░ journalism sometimes BISKUPIC Yeah ░░░░░░░░ is a pretty intimate ░░░░░░░░ of people I always ░░░░░░░░ that justices are appointed ░░░░░░░░ life Journalists are appointed ░░░░░░░░ life too We come ░░░░░░░░ this beat and we ░░░░░░░░ t leave it But ░░░░░░░░ anything else you want ░░░░░░░░ be friendly with the ░░░░░░░░ you cover but you ░░░░░░░░ t want to be ░░░░░░░░ friends And if you ░░░░░░░░ deep friendships then you ░░░░░░░░ to be careful with ░░░░░░░░ coverage on that And ░░░░░░░░ do think that there ░░░░░░░░ been an insularity that ░░░░░░░░ fight against and it ░░░░░░░░ been important to always ░░░░░░░░ able to scrutinize these ░░░░░░░░ in various ways which ░░░░░░░░ I think many of ░░░░░░░░ have But these recent ░░░░░░░░ they re coming from ░░░░░░░░ teams TAPPER Right BISKUPIC ░░░░░░░░ strong And I want ░░░░░░░░ give credit where credit ░░░░░░░░ due Really strong investigative ░░░░░░░░ especially at ProPublica TAPPER ░░░░░░░░ BISKUPIC And those people ░░░░░░░░ may never have even ░░░░░░░░ foot in the Supreme ░░░░░░░░ to cover a case ░░░░░░░░ someone like me is ░░░░░░░░ to be in there ░░░░░░░░ the briefs all the ░░░░░░░░ Again I think the ░░░░░░░░ coverage we have the ░░░░░░░░ TAPPER More coverage the ░░░░░░░░ and more transparency I ░░░░░░░░ t know if they ░░░░░░░░ listening there at the ░░░░░░░░ S Supreme Court More ░░░░░░░░ Walter Shaub and Joan ░░░░░░░░ thanks to both of ░░░░░░░░
