BRZEZINSKI Yes And your ░░░░░░░░ industry have suffered so ░░░░░░░░ through Covid It must ░░░░░░░░ just exhilarating to be ░░░░░░░░ working with people again ░░░░░░░░ stage PORTER Yeah BRZEZINSKI ░░░░░░░░ seeing an audience And ░░░░░░░░ look forward to that ░░░░░░░░ you and for anybody ░░░░░░░░ is a performer or ░░░░░░░░ part in putting together ░░░░░░░░ production the industry is ░░░░░░░░ just shattered during PORTER ░░░░░░░░ BRZEZINSKI Covid But you ░░░░░░░░ talked about also the ░░░░░░░░ that you experienced earlier ░░░░░░░░ your career And you ░░░░░░░░ said that your queerness ░░░░░░░░ your superpower PORTER Yes ░░░░░░░░ Tell us how tell ░░░░░░░░ how it is so ░░░░░░░░ and how you exercise ░░░░░░░░ superpower in the show ░░░░░░░░ Yeah I was told ░░░░░░░░ decades from allies and ░░░░░░░░ alike that my queerness ░░░░░░░░ be my liability And ░░░░░░░░ was for decades And ░░░░░░░░ my 30s I realized ░░░░░░░░ the only choice that ░░░░░░░░ could make for myself ░░░░░░░░ to choose myself and ░░░░░░░░ choose my own authenticity ░░░░░░░░ matter what and let ░░░░░░░░ chips fall where they ░░░░░░░░ and that the universe ░░░░░░░░ take care of me ░░░░░░░░ of that choice And ░░░░░░░░ know it took a ░░░░░░░░ I m not saying ░░░░░░░░ it was quick It ░░░░░░░░ decades BRZEZINSKI Right Right ░░░░░░░░ But it did shift ░░░░░░░░ did turn around starting ░░░░░░░░ Lola then into playing ░░░░░░░░ Tell on Pose And ░░░░░░░░ know winning the awards ░░░░░░░░ getting a platform that ░░░░░░░░ based on my authenticity ░░░░░░░░ platform came as a ░░░░░░░░ of that The roles ░░░░░░░░ got to play the ░░░░░░░░ that came to me ░░░░░░░░ about that And so ░░░░░░░░ visibility of being queer ░░░░░░░░ the space in the ░░░░░░░░ has landed me where ░░░░░░░░ am And so now ░░░░░░░░ get to talk about ░░░░░░░░ Now I get to ░░░░░░░░ to use my platform ░░░░░░░░ hopefully I set myself ░░░░░░░░ and the hope is ░░░░░░░░ in seeing my journey ░░░░░░░░ people will have the ░░░░░░░░ to choose authenticity and ░░░░░░░░ themselves free as well.”
