Sam Harris: ‘Unlucky’ Covid Didn’t Kill More Kids as Vax Skeptics Weren’t Treated Sufficiently Harshly

Harris Take it back ░░░░░░░░ Covid for a second ░░░░░░░░ one way and we ░░░░░░░░ very lucky that Covid ░░░░░░░░ t worse than it ░░░░░░░░ right You know it ░░░░░░░░ ve been much much ░░░░░░░░ could ve been ten ░░░░░░░░ as deadly or 50 ░░░░░░░░ as deadly and we ░░░░░░░░ have lived through or ░░░░░░░░ of us wouldn t ░░░░░░░░ lived through something truly ░░░░░░░░ But had Covid been ░░░░░░░░ you know just enough ░░░░░░░░ to really get our ░░░░░░░░ to really be undeniable ░░░░░░░░ would have had a ░░░░░░░░ political conversation around it ░░░░░░░░ wouldn t have been ░░░░░░░░ same kind of vaccine ░░░░░░░░ Bret Weinstein would not ░░░░░░░░ been releasing 80 straight ░░░░░░░░ on the dangers of ░░░░░░░░ vaccine if a few ░░░░░░░░ were changed I mean ░░░░░░░░ take that leave Covid ░░░░░░░░ as it is but ░░░░░░░░ make it preferentially dangerous ░░░░░░░░ children rather than to ░░░░░░░░ people You just flip ░░░░░░░░ around the variable of ░░░░░░░░ If kids were dying ░░░░░░░░ the hundreds of thousands ░░░░░░░░ Covid at a rate ░░░░░░░░ whatever it was one ░░░░░░░░ say but it was ░░░░░░░░ much all kids we ░░░░░░░░ have had a very ░░░░░░░░ experience right And the ░░░░░░░░ there would have been ░░░░░░░░ fu king patience for ░░░░░░░░ skepticism right And we ░░░░░░░░ would have recognized that ░░░░░░░░ is not my body ░░░░░░░░ choice This is you ░░░░░░░░ not going to kill ░░░░░░░░ kids with your ignorance ░░░░░░░░ you change one other ░░░░░░░░ what if the vaccines ░░░░░░░░ really did block transmission ░░░░░░░░ better than they in ░░░░░░░░ did There was a ░░░░░░░░ where it was only ░░░░░░░░ to expect them to ░░░░░░░░ transmission turns out they ░░░░░░░░ t do it nearly ░░░░░░░░ much as we would ░░░░░░░░ at this point they ░░░░░░░░ shorten the window by ░░░░░░░░ during which transmission is ░░░░░░░░ if they re even ░░░░░░░░ that now I don ░░░░░░░░ know But let s ░░░░░░░░ the vaccines really did ░░░░░░░░ transmission but then nothing ░░░░░░░░ was all of the ░░░░░░░░ mishegoss about how untested ░░░░░░░░ are and how dangerous ░░░░░░░░ might be and the ░░░░░░░░ protein and blah blah ░░░░░░░░ leave all that in ░░░░░░░░ Just give me a ░░░░░░░░ more transmission blockage and ░░░░░░░░ me kids being preferentially ░░░░░░░░ or injured by this ░░░░░░░░ The obscenity of much ░░░░░░░░ what much of what ░░░░░░░░ said about Covid at ░░░░░░░░ time I wish it ░░░░░░░░ said you know the ░░░░░░░░ thinking the platforming of ░░░░░░░░ who were obviously unwell ░░░░░░░░ unbalanced professionally and mentally ░░░░░░░░ vaccines and their skepticism ░░░░░░░░ patience for that would ░░░░░░░░ been nonexistent right And ░░░░░░░░ in some sense we ░░░░░░░░ unlucky at how benign ░░░░░░░░ was and how mysterious ░░░░░░░░ could yet seem because ░░░░░░░░ could run the argument ░░░░░░░░ did he die from ░░░░░░░░ or with Covid He ░░░░░░░░ 80 years old That ░░░░░░░░ a situation we were ░░░░░░░░ I m saying there ░░░░░░░░ changes in the real ░░░░░░░░ that could have happened ░░░░░░░░ could yet happen that ░░░░░░░░ be would have been ░░░░░░░░ clarifying and there just ░░░░░░░░ ve been no there ░░░░░░░░ ve been no I ░░░░░░░░ just asking questions routine ░░░░░░░░ have not gotten anyone ░░░░░░░░ worth going And that ░░░░░░░░ part of what we ░░░░░░░░ talking about here with ░░░░░░░░ to Trump and with ░░░░░░░░ to Covid are just ░░░░░░░░ facts of these unique ░░░░░░░░ which had they been ░░░░░░░░ little bit different we ░░░░░░░░ we wouldn t have ░░░░░░░░ in the same way ░░░░░░░░ dial up the you ░░░░░░░░ up the risk of ░░░░░░░░ If Covid just had ░░░░░░░░ you know just made ░░░░░░░░ physically ugly right if ░░░░░░░░ was monkeypox right and ░░░░░░░░ had pustules on your ░░░░░░░░ okay that s different ░░░░░░░░ the hypothetical experience we ░░░░░░░░ had of is it ░░░░░░░░ cold Is it a ░░░░░░░░ Is it Covid Like ░░░░░░░░ just I m not ░░░░░░░░ I wish for those ░░░░░░░░ because those are pictures ░░░░░░░░ a worst worst suffering ░░░░░░░░ people but had those ░░░░░░░░ been in place I ░░░░░░░░ don t think we ░░░░░░░░ have witnessed the same ░░░░░░░░ of shattering of our ░░░░░░░░ around this particular variable ░░░░░░░░ again so I pivot ░░░░░░░░ to the possibility if ░░░░░░░░ could get a more ░░░░░░░░ Republican candidate who was ░░░░░░░░ you know not at ░░░░░░░░ center of a personality ░░░░░░░░ built on misinformation you ░░░░░░░░ that there could be ░░░░░░░░ swing back to something ░░░░░░░░ recognizable that doesn t ░░░░░░░░ like a social emergency ░░░░░░░░ I grant you that ░░░░░░░░ do feel like we ░░░░░░░░ in the presence of ░░░░░░░░ social emergency It s ░░░░░░░░ the question is could ░░░░░░░░ could something other than ░░░░░░░░ about it be process ░░░░░░░░ which we overcome it ░░░░░░░░ JR Something other than ░░░░░░░░ about it.”
