WOODRUFF But David were ░░░░░░░░ surprised when it came ░░░░░░░░ to it BROOKS I ░░░░░░░░ I was Well what ░░░░░░░░ happened was two weeks ░░░░░░░░ the race or three ░░░░░░░░ the generic ballot really ░░░░░░░░ move in the favor ░░░░░░░░ the Republicans and there ░░░░░░░░ a moment it looked ░░░░░░░░ if that was going ░░░░░░░░ continue to move then ░░░░░░░░ Republicans would have a ░░░░░░░░ night But then the ░░░░░░░░ two weeks it just ░░░░░░░░ of jumped and instead ░░░░░░░░ just flatlined and so ░░░░░░░░ Republicans did not continue ░░░░░░░░ make gains on that ░░░░░░░░ And I think that ░░░░░░░░ voters saying we don ░░░░░░░░ like the Democrats but ░░░░░░░░ know there was a ░░░░░░░░ summary they preferred a ░░░░░░░░ that was sort of ░░░░░░░░ of touch to a ░░░░░░░░ that was out of ░░░░░░░░ minds And so so ░░░░░░░░ was surprised because historically ░░░░░░░░ the president s approval ░░░░░░░░ low the party loses ░░░░░░░░ these are exceptional circumstances ░░░░░░░░ of this authoritarian threat.”
