Cori Bush: GOP Reps Who Participated in Jan. 6th Riot Should Be Expelled, Criminally Charged

REID The congresswoman from ░░░░░░░░ was harassing you in ░░░░░░░░ hallways of Congress I ░░░░░░░░ if the experience you ░░░░░░░░ which is so different ░░░░░░░░ the way most people ░░░░░░░░ career in Congress starts ░░░░░░░░ changed the way you ░░░░░░░░ at the system Is ░░░░░░░░ something wrong with our ░░░░░░░░ that allows that violence ░░░░░░░░ permeate the very hallowed ░░░░░░░░ of Congress itself BUSH ░░░░░░░░ because some of those ░░░░░░░░ are in the system ░░░░░░░░ are part of the ░░░░░░░░ You know we can ░░░░░░░░ back over decades we ░░░░░░░░ look back over millenniums ░░░░░░░░ folks those folks are ░░░░░░░░ of the system that ░░░░░░░░ a part of we ░░░░░░░░ talking about people who ░░░░░░░░ been in government That ░░░░░░░░ how we had slavery ░░░░░░░░ this country That s ░░░░░░░░ we had Jim Crow ░░░░░░░░ in this country That ░░░░░░░░ why we have mass ░░░░░░░░ today and so many ░░░░░░░░ things We can t ░░░░░░░░ get a livable wage ░░░░░░░░ this country We can ░░░░░░░░ even close the racial ░░░░░░░░ gap You know we ░░░░░░░░ have environmental injustice and ░░░░░░░░ housing crisis that s ░░░░░░░░ the charts in this ░░░░░░░░ right now in 2022 ░░░░░░░░ absolutely But I think ░░░░░░░░ being in the Capitol ░░░░░░░░ day when that insurrection ░░░░░░░░ I remember being in ░░░░░░░░ chambers in the gallery ░░░░░░░░ to one of my ░░░░░░░░ say on the House ░░░░░░░░ Those are my people ░░░░░░░░ I m standing up ░░░░░░░░ my people that are ░░░░░░░░ Well your same people ░░░░░░░░ Republican said that your ░░░░░░░░ scaled walls just an ░░░░░░░░ or two later Your ░░░░░░░░ killed people Your people ░░░░░░░░ our lives in danger ░░░░░░░░ people are the ones ░░░░░░░░ are some of them ░░░░░░░░ in jail right now ░░░░░░░░ this And hopefully if ░░░░░░░░ are any people in ░░░░░░░░ that actually did participate ░░░░░░░░ the overturning of that ░░░░░░░░ election if any of ░░░░░░░░ participated they have to ░░░░░░░░ investigated they need to ░░░░░░░░ expelled from Congress And ░░░░░░░░ there are criminal charges ░░░░░░░░ should happen Because I ░░░░░░░░ my job seriously there ░░░░░░░░ lives on the line ░░░░░░░░ I will not let ░░░░░░░░ that have a political ░░░░░░░░ are there for to ░░░░░░░░ politics folks that don ░░░░░░░░ understand what it s ░░░░░░░░ to live with your ░░░░░░░░ being the problem that ░░░░░░░░ see your skin causing ░░░░░░░░ reaction in people simply ░░░░░░░░ you showed up I ░░░░░░░░ them to understand that ░░░░░░░░ will fight as long ░░░░░░░░ I have breath to ░░░░░░░░ sure that my people ░░░░░░░░ safe And if it ░░░░░░░░ calling them out I ░░░░░░░░ do that.”
