REILLY My name is ░░░░░░░░ Reilly and I m ░░░░░░░░ program coordinator for Trans ░░░░░░░░ the program for LGBTQ ░░░░░░░░ at Vanderbilt University Trans ░░░░░░░░ provides trained peer advocates ░░░░░░░░ transgender patients who are ░░░░░░░░ for doctor s appointments ░░░░░░░░ other healthcare related services ░░░░░░░░ you re looking for ░░░░░░░░ that s related to ░░░░░░░░ transition such as hormone ░░░░░░░░ or something completely unrelated ░░░░░░░░ breaking an arm or ░░░░░░░░ to an ENT we ░░░░░░░░ here to help support ░░░░░░░░ transgender patients that come ░░░░░░░░ our doors The Trans ░░░░░░░░ program was organically created ░░░░░░░░ the efforts of transgender ░░░░░░░░ and continues to consistently ░░░░░░░░ led by trans people ░░░░░░░░ Middle Tennessee Trans Buddy ░░░░░░░░ is a one of ░░░░░░░░ kind in the nation ░░░░░░░░ institutions are looking to ░░░░░░░░ to replicate and expand ░░░░░░░░ like ours UNKNOWN 1 ░░░░░░░░ re not seeking to ░░░░░░░░ solutions often for people ░░░░░░░░ problems We re just ░░░░░░░░ to be there and ░░░░░░░░ accompany and to be ░░░░░░░░ friendly face and to ░░░░░░░░ a non medical face ░░░░░░░░ a place where everybody ░░░░░░░░ in the room is ░░░░░░░░ to be a healthcare ░░░░░░░░ and may be unsafe ░░░░░░░░ 2 Sometimes I m ░░░░░░░░ to be sort of ░░░░░░░░ observing kind of how ░░░░░░░░ staff are interacting with ░░░░░░░░ And again you know ░░░░░░░░ correct pronouns or treating ░░░░░░░░ individual with respect.”
