WALSH Thank you very ░░░░░░░░ Madam Speaker and it ░░░░░░░░ such an honor to ░░░░░░░░ with you today and ░░░░░░░░ Speier and Lawrence as ░░░░░░░░ and all of the ░░░░░░░░ speakers here today and ░░░░░░░░ here I was told ░░░░░░░░ have a minute and ░░░░░░░░ half so I m ░░░░░░░░ to take two and ░░░░░░░░ minutes Speaker has addressed ░░░░░░░░ Equal Pay Day It ░░░░░░░░ March 15th 2020 March ░░░░░░░░ 2020 and in this ░░░░░░░░ we still have inequities ░░░░░░░░ it comes to pay ░░░░░░░░ when you look at ░░░░░░░░ numbers for white women ░░░░░░░░ black woman to Latina ░░░░░░░░ those numbers even get ░░░░░░░░ And as mayor the ░░░░░░░░ of Boston we saw ░░░░░░░░ address this issue by ░░░░░░░░ people to the table ░░░░░░░░ bringing employers to the ░░░░░░░░ to say we need ░░░░░░░░ address it I know ░░░░░░░░ s lots of legislation ░░░░░░░░ I was a state ░░░░░░░░ before I was the ░░░░░░░░ and I was in ░░░░░░░░ legislature 16 years and ░░░░░░░░ think I voted probably ░░░░░░░░ times on equal pay ░░░░░░░░ when it s not ░░░░░░░░ complicated that employers should ░░░░░░░░ pay women the same ░░░░░░░░ you pay man for ░░░░░░░░ same job That s ░░░░░░░░ bottom line And we ░░░░░░░░ going to talk a ░░░░░░░░ bit about benefits here ░░░░░░░░ well today.”
