KEILAR I m Brianna ░░░░░░░░ and this is Democracy ░░░░░░░░ Peril We re doing ░░░░░░░░ a little different tonight ░░░░░░░░ here in the days ░░░░░░░░ come We are taking ░░░░░░░░ closer look at the ░░░░░░░░ of our country the ░░░░░░░░ to our political system ░░░░░░░░ possible solutions for reversing ░░░░░░░░ divisiveness that is tearing ░░░░░░░░ apart Maybe look around ░░░░░░░░ country right now and ░░░░░░░░ don t like what ░░░░░░░░ see Maybe it seems ░░░░░░░░ bad at times that ░░░░░░░░ are even tempted to ░░░░░░░░ away No one would ░░░░░░░░ you But there are ░░░░░░░░ under way right now ░░░░░░░░ undermine American democracy and ░░░░░░░░ can t just bury ░░░░░░░░ heads in the sand ░░░░░░░░ know what a failed ░░░░░░░░ is Practice And the ░░░░░░░░ behind the effort to ░░░░░░░░ the 2020 presidential election ░░░░░░░░ their reps in and ░░░░░░░░ are chipping away at ░░░░░░░░ institutions that held to ░░░░░░░░ former President Trump would ░░░░░░░░ his rightful place as ░░░░░░░░ ex president and President ░░░░░░░░ would enter the White ░░░░░░░░ and get his chance ░░░░░░░░ deliver on promises to ░░░░░░░░ voters who elected him ░░░░░░░░ every president is entitled ░░░░░░░░ what voters are entitled ░░░░░░░░ This series isn t ░░░░░░░░ It is a Frank ░░░░░░░░ of an illness in ░░░░░░░░ country that we can ░░░░░░░░ afford to ignore What ░░░░░░░░ 2022 bring and 2024 ░░░░░░░░ if Trump runs again ░░░░░░░░ other Republicans run using ░░░░░░░░ playbook Will our institutions ░░░░░░░░ And will social media ░░░░░░░░ undermine them continuing to ░░░░░░░░ conspiracy theories peddling them ░░░░░░░░ the masses eager to ░░░░░░░░ them According to a ░░░░░░░░ poll 73 of Republicans ░░░░░░░░ believe the election was ░░░░░░░░ from Trump despite Trump ░░░░░░░░ officials making clear there ░░░░░░░░ no widespread voter fraud ░░░░░░░░ would have affected the ░░░░░░░░ of the election despite ░░░░░░░░ after court dismissing baseless ░░░░░░░░ that argued otherwise The ░░░░░░░░ lie is a cancer ░░░░░░░░ how do you cut ░░░░░░░░ out without killing the ░░░░░░░░ Is it even possible ░░░░░░░░ it metastasizes in one ░░░░░░░░ led state legislature after ░░░░░░░░ 34 new laws in ░░░░░░░░ least 19 states according ░░░░░░░░ the Brennan Center that ░░░░░░░░ voting access that could ░░░░░░░░ affect voters of color ░░░░░░░░ particular legislatures in competitive ░░░░░░░░ are making it harder ░░░░░░░░ cast a ballot and ░░░░░░░░ Republicans are gaslighting America.”
