Hi everyone I am ░░░░░░░░ golodriga senior global affairs ░░░░░░░░ for CNN and I ░░░░░░░░ thrilled to be chatting ░░░░░░░░ with lieutenant colonel alexander ░░░░░░░░ and governor Arnold Schwarzenegger ░░░░░░░░ the release of lieutenant ░░░░░░░░ vinman s new book ░░░░░░░░ right matters an American ░░░░░░░░ you may of course ░░░░░░░░ alexander vinman from being ░░░░░░░░ center of a firestorm ░░░░░░░░ his decision to report ░░░░░░░░ infamous phone call that ░░░░░░░░ to the impeachment of ░░░░░░░░ President Trump the first ░░░░░░░░ for President Trump aside ░░░░░░░░ that infamous moment in ░░░░░░░░ here right matters vinman ░░░░░░░░ his incredible story of ░░░░░░░░ childhood as an immigrant ░░░░░░░░ by a father who ░░░░░░░░ the Soviet Union in ░░░░░░░░ of a better life ░░░░░░░░ his children he is ░░░░░░░░ by Arnold Schwarzenegger who ░░░░░░░░ known all around the ░░░░░░░░ for his many accomplishments ░░░░░░░░ to even begin let ░░░░░░░░ start with world champion ░░░░░░░░ Hollywood action hero successful ░░░░░░░░ environmentalist philanthropist best selling ░░░░░░░░ oh and California s ░░░░░░░░ governor let s not ░░░░░░░░ that before we begin ░░░░░░░░ would like to thank ░░░░░░░░ of ░░░░░░░░ to to moderate this ░░░░░░░░ today it s an ░░░░░░░░ and I wondered initially ░░░░░░░░ why why me what ░░░░░░░░ us together and of ░░░░░░░░ I remember our our ░░░░░░░░ background I too came ░░░░░░░░ the former Soviet Union ░░░░░░░░ the age of 18 ░░░░░░░░ in 1980 with my ░░░░░░░░ a very similar story ░░░░░░░░ that of yours lieutenant ░░░░░░░░ um which is why ░░░░░░░░ think we were drawn ░░░░░░░░ and why I reached ░░░░░░░░ to you as early ░░░░░░░░ I did and obviously ░░░░░░░░ in my household in ░░░░░░░░ golodriga household you were ░░░░░░░░ an immigrant dream story ░░░░░░░░ in this country my ░░░░░░░░ says only in America ░░░░░░░░ at Arnold Schwarzenegger you ░░░░░░░░ were that person for ░░░░░░░░ and you were that ░░░░░░░░ story so I want ░░░░░░░░ thank you for including ░░░░░░░░ in this conversation today ░░░░░░░░ begin with you Alex ░░░░░░░░ how did you and ░░░░░░░░ governor connect well that ░░░░░░░░ uh I think we ░░░░░░░░ one thing I guess ░░░░░░░░ would always I always ░░░░░░░░ of kind of meeting ░░░░░░░░ governor um he was ░░░░░░░░ icon action movie hero ░░░░░░░░ sorts of uh wonderful ░░░░░░░░ that he s managed ░░░░░░░░ accomplish but uh we ░░░░░░░░ together because we were ░░░░░░░░ minded in our patriotism ░░░░░░░░ of this country and ░░░░░░░░ to frankly make this ░░░░░░░░ uh stronger after January ░░░░░░░░ we both I think ░░░░░░░░ respectively looked around and ░░░░░░░░ the question what can ░░░░░░░░ do to defend this ░░░░░░░░ and uh the governor ░░░░░░░░ this wonderful uh video ░░░░░░░░ with his uh conan ░░░░░░░░ barbarian sword which I ░░░░░░░░ sure somewhere close at ░░░░░░░░ in case he needs ░░░░░░░░ defend his household and ░░░░░░░░ I uh also uh ░░░░░░░░ initial instinct was to ░░░░░░░░ right out to the ░░░░░░░░ and do a counter ░░░░░░░░ and that kind of ░░░░░░░░ that military instinct to ░░░░░░░░ to the fight which ░░░░░░░░ a good idea because ░░░░░░░░ probably wouldn t help ░░░░░░░░ situation and then instead ░░░░░░░░ thought what can we ░░░░░░░░ to brush back against ░░░░░░░░ this this this hate ░░░░░░░░ division and I started ░░░░░░░░ kind of a um ░░░░░░░░ my renewed democracy initiative ░░░░░░░░ group a non governmental ░░░░░░░░ I started a uh ░░░░░░░░ of a small movement ░░░░░░░░ what does democracy to ░░░░░░░░ mean to me my ░░░░░░░░ I made a video ░░░░░░░░ had a bunch of ░░░░░░░░ kind of join in ░░░░░░░░ and uh based on ░░░░░░░░ fact that we were ░░░░░░░░ in the same space ░░░░░░░░ I went out to ░░░░░░░░ in March I I ░░░░░░░░ hey governor you know ░░░░░░░░ m in the area ░░░░░░░░ know I m open ░░░░░░░░ meeting with you uh ░░░░░░░░ know and of course ░░░░░░░░ governor jumped at the ░░░░░░░░ to meet me and ░░░░░░░░ invited me to the ░░░░░░░░ and we had cigars ░░░░░░░░ two and a half ░░░░░░░░ what what better way ░░░░░░░░ form a relationship with ░░░░░░░░ governor than that and ░░░░░░░░ governor I know for ░░░░░░░░ I m sure many ░░░░░░░░ reach out to you ░░░░░░░░ to get your advice ░░░░░░░░ to spend some time ░░░░░░░░ you uh you have ░░░░░░░░ very busy schedule what ░░░░░░░░ it about Alex s ░░░░░░░░ and was it perhaps ░░░░░░░░ those opening statements during ░░░░░░░░ testimony in the impeachment ░░░░░░░░ when he talked about ░░░░░░░░ immigrant background and why ░░░░░░░░ right matters and why ░░░░░░░░ father shouldn t worry ░░░░░░░░ him telling the truth ░░░░░░░░ doing what s right ░░░░░░░░ America did that sort ░░░░░░░░ conjure up any emotions ░░░░░░░░ you let me just ░░░░░░░░ you that first of ░░░░░░░░ it s great to ░░░░░░░░ part of this uh ░░░░░░░░ promotion and uh because ░░░░░░░░ I love when someone ░░░░░░░░ out and sells because ░░░░░░░░ you have a book ░░░░░░░░ out or if you ░░░░░░░░ a movie coming out ░░░░░░░░ if you have a ░░░░░░░░ idea policy wise coming ░░░░░░░░ or an environmental issue ░░░░░░░░ it is you got ░░░░░░░░ go out and let ░░░░░░░░ people know because otherwise ░░░░░░░░ can have the best ░░░░░░░░ in the world but ░░░░░░░░ people don t know ░░░░░░░░ have nothing and so ░░░░░░░░ m very happy that ░░░░░░░░ is out there and ░░░░░░░░ promoting his book because ░░░░░░░░ think millions of people ░░░░░░░░ going to be interested ░░░░░░░░ wanting this book and ░░░░░░░░ about the democracy and ░░░░░░░░ his work and the ░░░░░░░░ of you know the ░░░░░░░░ situation that he went ░░░░░░░░ it s a fascinating ░░░░░░░░ and I was able ░░░░░░░░ read the claims read ░░░░░░░░ of it and I ░░░░░░░░ you it is absolutely ░░░░░░░░ and of course I ░░░░░░░░ aware of Alex during ░░░░░░░░ testimony when I watched ░░░░░░░░ every night and and ░░░░░░░░ saw of what a ░░░░░░░░ job he has done ░░░░░░░░ you know it was ░░░░░░░░ really extraordinary to see ░░░░░░░░ that is an immigrant ░░░░░░░░ uh to be so ░░░░░░░░ protecting the democracy of ░░░░░░░░ I mean we have ░░░░░░░░ extraordinary democracy here but ░░░░░░░░ needs democracy as they ░░░░░░░░ say it s not ░░░░░░░░ bystander sport you know ░░░░░░░░ have to be actively ░░░░░░░░ in that and that ░░░░░░░░ exactly what Alex did ░░░░░░░░ did a heroic move ░░░░░░░░ he didn t think ░░░░░░░░ this time about what ░░░░░░░░ best for his career ░░░░░░░░ he didn t think ░░░░░░░░ the you know how ░░░░░░░░ he work his way ░░░░░░░░ in his job and ░░░░░░░░ of this stuff I ░░░░░░░░ he took the risk ░░░░░░░░ he would lose the ░░░░░░░░ and he did as ░░░░░░░░ matter of fact but ░░░░░░░░ him party line didn ░░░░░░░░ matter his job didn ░░░░░░░░ matter the only thing ░░░░░░░░ really mattered was to ░░░░░░░░ this democracy strong and ░░░░░░░░ think that he was ░░░░░░░░ successful in doing that ░░░░░░░░ became a hero overnight ░░░░░░░░ his testimony that he ░░░░░░░░ and he will become ░░░░░░░░ hero and that s ░░░░░░░░ I wanted to you ░░░░░░░░ beat him talk to ░░░░░░░░ and find out about ░░░░░░░░ kind of a person ░░░░░░░░ this that has really ░░░░░░░░ know the balls to ░░░░░░░░ that because you have ░░░░░░░░ understand when you re ░░░░░░░░ politics like I have ░░░░░░░░ for seven years as ░░░░░░░░ you get to know ░░░░░░░░ politicians and there s ░░░░░░░░ thing that Alex says ░░░░░░░░ most of the politicians ░░░░░░░░ not have and that ░░░░░░░░ to not worry about ░░░░░░░░ job because most politicians ░░░░░░░░ about getting re elected ░░░░░░░░ would do anything and ░░░░░░░░ that you can think ░░░░░░░░ to get reelected and ░░░░░░░░ to think about democracy ░░░░░░░░ party hacks they just ░░░░░░░░ about you know how ░░░░░░░░ they protect their party ░░░░░░░░ all this that s ░░░░░░░░ a true patriot a ░░░░░░░░ patriot is that is ░░░░░░░░ person that fights for ░░░░░░░░ country and to keep ░░░░░░░░ country the number one ░░░░░░░░ in the world and ░░░░░░░░ s exactly what Alex ░░░░░░░░ he did not worry ░░░░░░░░ his job he worried ░░░░░░░░ this country and that ░░░░░░░░ why he s a ░░░░░░░░ that s why I ░░░░░░░░ him that s why ░░░░░░░░ m here today I ░░░░░░░░ the world of him ░░░░░░░░ you also very strong ░░░░░░░░ and his calf development ░░░░░░░░ really exactly if we ░░░░░░░░ you were face to ░░░░░░░░ I would challenge you ░░░░░░░░ an arm wrestling competition ░░░░░░░░ unfortunately we re virtual ░░░░░░░░ but the other thing ░░░░░░░░ should say is it ░░░░░░░░ the only thing that ░░░░░░░░ lacking and I told ░░░░░░░░ that is his abs ░░░░░░░░ does not have a ░░░░░░░░ pack and I think ░░░░░░░░ he enjoys his stakes ░░░░░░░░ more than that than ░░░░░░░░ uh sit UPS I ░░░░░░░░ t even think he ░░░░░░░░ 45 yet so he ░░░░░░░░ got time to develop ░░░░░░░░ abs and yeah his ░░░░░░░░ are you kidding me ░░░░░░░░ that s the same ░░░░░░░░ take care of your ░░░░░░░░ before you take care ░░░░░░░░ everyone else I think ░░░░░░░░ s right I think ░░░░░░░░ s a uh you ░░░░░░░░ there s a workout ░░░░░░░░ know a session or ░░░░░░░░ even a workout video ░░░░░░░░ on the back end ░░░░░░░░ we ll just keep ░░░░░░░░ in mind going back ░░░░░░░░ the garage when we ░░░░░░░░ together we re going ░░░░░░░░ work out together yes ░░░░░░░░ s sell that class ░░░░░░░░ I will I will ░░░░░░░░ know moderate that bad ░░░░░░░░ as well I m ░░░░░░░░ to do that call ░░░░░░░░ strong of mind stronger ░░░░░░░░ and immigrant story yeah ░░░░░░░░ I want to get ░░░░░░░░ the consequences because they ░░░░░░░░ been dire of the ░░░░░░░░ sort of party over ░░░░░░░░ country mentality and the ░░░░░░░░ that you just talked ░░░░░░░░ governor because it wasn ░░░░░░░░ limited to just the ░░░░░░░░ of course we had ░░░░░░░░ many who were supporting ░░░░░░░░ president saying he s ░░░░░░░░ his lesson this is ░░░░░░░░ one off um that ░░░░░░░░ definitely was not the ░░░░░░░░ but before we get ░░░░░░░░ to present day and ░░░░░░░░ of the consequences in ░░░░░░░░ aftermath of that first ░░░░░░░░ Alex I do want ░░░░░░░░ ask you um something ░░░░░░░░ reference in your book ░░░░░░░░ that is that your ░░░░░░░░ today now consists of ░░░░░░░░ impeachment and post impeachment ░░░░░░░░ what the governor said ░░░░░░░░ absolutely right the history ░░░░░░░░ will judge you kindly ░░░░░░░░ are an American hero ░░░░░░░░ can sleep well at ░░░░░░░░ um but you did ░░░░░░░░ a price for doing ░░░░░░░░ right thing and I ░░░░░░░░ many would be surprised ░░░░░░░░ and I think heartbroken ░░░░░░░░ even a few years ░░░░░░░░ to know what you ░░░░░░░░ a price you did ░░░░░░░░ for doing the right ░░░░░░░░ it wasn t just ░░░░░░░░ president that let you ░░░░░░░░ it was your superiors ░░░░░░░░ was your bosses it ░░░░░░░░ people that were supposed ░░░░░░░░ protect you um were ░░░░░░░░ there and I wonder ░░░░░░░░ you can talk about ░░░░░░░░ the sort of post ░░░░░░░░ life you re experiencing ░░░░░░░░ well first of all ░░░░░░░░ I should I I ░░░░░░░░ comment on that just ░░░░░░░░ the awesome military career ░░░░░░░░ had I had just ░░░░░░░░ unique series of opportunities ░░░░░░░░ leading troops um in ░░░░░░░░ various corners of the ░░░░░░░░ and having an impact ░░░░░░░░ national security in in ░░░░░░░░ very outsized way I ░░░░░░░░ a very very good ░░░░░░░░ um serving in Moscow ░░░░░░░░ in the Pentagon really ░░░░░░░░ an impact in uh ░░░░░░░░ driving the thinking on ░░░░░░░░ facing and meeting the ░░░░░░░░ the big the the ░░░░░░░░ significant challenges this country ░░░░░░░░ and all the way ░░░░░░░░ through the uh White ░░░░░░░░ and then and frankly ░░░░░░░░ s one of the ░░░░░░░░ I wanted to stay ░░░░░░░░ is because I thought ░░░░░░░░ could continue to contribute ░░░░░░░░ that way life took ░░░░░░░░ different turn uh and ░░░░░░░░ could have been uh ░░░░░░░░ on my ass and ░░░░░░░░ of just kind of ░░░░░░░░ in self pity but ░░░░░░░░ s not the way ░░░░░░░░ are uh vinmens are ░░░░░░░░ resilient you know we ░░░░░░░░ prepared to to uh ░░░░░░░░ start over as many ░░░░░░░░ as needed and continue ░░░░░░░░ kind of bounce back ░░░░░░░░ do good things um ░░░░░░░░ the pr I m ░░░░░░░░ trying to figure out ░░░░░░░░ what it what it ░░░░░░░░ I want to do ░░░░░░░░ I ve invested in ░░░░░░░░ really kind of pretty ░░░░░░░░ uh uh opportunities working ░░░░░░░░ my doctorate in Johns ░░░░░░░░ um at a think ░░░░░░░░ lecturing I have affiliations ░░░░░░░░ both Johns Hopkins and ░░░░░░░░ you you Penn uh ░░░░░░░░ s you know there ░░░░░░░░ conversations with uh I ░░░░░░░░ had conversations with Yale ░░░░░░░░ ve caught have you ░░░░░░░░ I ve got an ░░░░░░░░ talk sometime in the ░░░░░░░░ with with Stanford there ░░░░░░░░ all sorts of pretty ░░░░░░░░ things but frankly I ░░░░░░░░ t quite decided exactly ░░░░░░░░ it is I want ░░░░░░░░ do but I know ░░░░░░░░ objectives I want to ░░░░░░░░ I want to continue ░░░░░░░░ contribute on national security ░░░░░░░░ want to continue to ░░░░░░░░ for public servants because ░░░░░░░░ were the guard rails ░░░░░░░░ saved this country in ░░░░░░░░ in a moment of ░░░░░░░░ danger uh it was ░░░░░░░░ people that refused to ░░░░░░░░ follow illegal orders there ░░░░░░░░ the the the police ░░░░░░░░ that held the line ░░░░░░░░ January 6th and I ░░░░░░░░ to continue to advocate ░░░░░░░░ them I ve I ░░░░░░░░ make it a point ░░░░░░░░ reach out to people ░░░░░░░░ are attacked by the ░░░░░░░░ right uh you know ░░░░░░░░ of the proto fascists ░░░░░░░░ in in the media ░░░░░░░░ or on the far ░░░░░░░░ and I also uh ░░░░░░░░ to hold I m ░░░░░░░░ focused on accountability and ░░░░░░░░ those people that fell ░░░░░░░░ those people that did ░░░░░░░░ live up to their ░░░░░░░░ of office those people ░░░░░░░░ says are two faced ░░░░░░░░ say one thing and ░░░░░░░░ another I m I ░░░░░░░░ looking at them and ░░░░░░░░ m looking to help ░░░░░░░░ that is looking to ░░░░░░░░ them in power and ░░░░░░░░ s the kind of ░░░░░░░░ we want uh so ░░░░░░░░ could see my my ░░░░░░░░ is forward moving forward ░░░░░░░░ the next step uh ░░░░░░░░ than the kind of ░░░░░░░░ adversity piece which is ░░░░░░░░ negligible my wife really ░░░░░░░░ it when I kind ░░░░░░░░ understate the the challenges ░░░░░░░░ the difficulties that we ░░░░░░░░ had but I m ░░░░░░░░ focused on the future ░░░░░░░░ you know how to ░░░░░░░░ forward and you can ░░░░░░░░ that through line I ░░░░░░░░ you do it yourself ░░░░░░░░ s it s natural ░░░░░░░░ it it s true ░░░░░░░░ what you experienced what ░░░░░░░░ saw what the country ░░░░░░░░ by elected officials choosing ░░░░░░░░ and I would even ░░░░░░░░ president over country and ░░░░░░░░ acting in a way ░░░░░░░░ that was only self ░░░░░░░░ for a short period ░░░░░░░░ time right um just ░░░░░░░░ to avoid the president ░░░░░░░░ a higher cost directly ░░░░░░░░ January 6 and the ░░░░░░░░ you talk about in ░░░░░░░░ book how you wonder ░░░░░░░░ some of those Republicans ░░░░░░░░ were defending the president ░░░░░░░░ the impeachment two years ░░░░░░░░ feel any guilt about ░░░░░░░░ pain that would come ░░░░░░░░ this country that you ░░░░░░░░ largely at the hands ░░░░░░░░ leadership of course of ░░░░░░░░ Trump and and that ░░░░░░░░ Coronavirus and how we ░░░░░░░░ to that which no ░░░░░░░░ in the world would ░░░░░░░░ estimated that the us ░░░░░░░░ so poorly initially and ░░░░░░░░ January 6 governor I ░░░░░░░░ struck by one of ░░░░░░░░ police officers who was ░░░░░░░░ before Congress just last ░░░░░░░░ I believe and he ░░░░░░░░ was an immigrant one ░░░░░░░░ the officers who was ░░░░░░░░ to hold the line ░░░░░░░░ I had to choke ░░░░░░░░ tears just listening to ░░░░░░░░ say that he has ░░░░░░░░ been more proud to ░░░░░░░░ an immigrant to this ░░░░░░░░ defending the democracy here ░░░░░░░░ it made me think ░░░░░░░░ that we would have ░░░░░░░░ conversation today about that ░░░░░░░░ that Alex referenced that ░░░░░░░░ you released I think ░░░░░░░░ it took many by ░░░░░░░░ and it was so ░░░░░░░░ to hear those words ░░░░░░░░ you as an immigrant ░░░░░░░░ warning about the consequences ░░░░░░░░ real life consequences of ░░░░░░░░ upholding democracy what made ░░░░░░░░ put that video out ░░░░░░░░ I cannot stand it ░░░░░░░░ I m alone on ░░░░░░░░ Laughter of all let ░░░░░░░░ just say that um ░░░░░░░░ reason why I did ░░░░░░░░ video was because it ░░░░░░░░ what was going on ░░░░░░░░ America I felt like ░░░░░░░░ there was some similarities ░░░░░░░░ and the potential potential ░░░░░░░░ that we have seen ░░░░░░░░ the past and I ░░░░░░░░ talking now about the ░░░░░░░░ the second world war ░░░░░░░░ how my father and ░░░░░░░░ in austria and Germany ░░░░░░░░ all over Europe were ░░░░░░░░ lied to by a ░░░░░░░░ that was very evil ░░░░░░░░ and when you start ░░░░░░░░ to people and if ░░░░░░░░ nation experiences this kind ░░░░░░░░ lies in these seeds ░░░░░░░░ cheating and corruption and ░░░░░░░░ this kind of thing ░░░░░░░░ goes down a dangerous ░░░░░░░░ and it has to ░░░░░░░░ stopped at all costs ░░░░░░░░ uh I think that ░░░░░░░░ wanted to express that ░░░░░░░░ that video that you ░░░░░░░░ was concerned about that ░░░░░░░░ we don t want ░░░░░░░░ repeat that kind of ░░░░░░░░ history again and this ░░░░░░░░ why we have to ░░░░░░░░ everything that we can ░░░░░░░░ stop that and uh ░░░░░░░░ know not to go ░░░░░░░░ that direction and I ░░░░░░░░ this is Alex was ░░░░░░░░ of those heroic guys ░░░░░░░░ were many others that ░░░░░░░░ that and stood up ░░░░░░░░ uh you know uh ░░░░░░░░ said that that what ░░░░░░░░ not kill you will ░░░░░░░░ you stronger and I ░░░░░░░░ that the other side ░░░░░░░░ tried to overthrow this ░░░░░░░░ and to do those ░░░░░░░░ of illegal acts uh ░░░░░░░░ know have not succeeded ░░░░░░░░ of people like Alex ░░░░░░░░ uh and others and ░░░░░░░░ we have protected our ░░░░░░░░ and does nietzsche said ░░░░░░░░ will make us stronger ░░░░░░░░ will make this democracy ░░░░░░░░ and so there is ░░░░░░░░ it s a really ░░░░░░░░ of how America how ░░░░░░░░ our democracy is and ░░░░░░░░ have seen this now ░░░░░░░░ and uh and this ░░░░░░░░ like I said this ░░░░░░░░ why I compared it ░░░░░░░░ that kind of a ░░░░░░░░ period and uh I ░░░░░░░░ that um when you ░░░░░░░░ foreign uh I think ░░░░░░░░ gives you twice the ░░░░░░░░ because I think that ░░░░░░░░ came over here and ░░░░░░░░ have seen firsthand how ░░░░░░░░ is the number one ░░░░░░░░ in the world and ░░░░░░░░ it s not just ░░░░░░░░ saying that it is ░░░░░░░░ land of opportunity but ░░░░░░░░ think all of us ░░░░░░░░ it firsthand how it ░░░░░░░░ the land of opportunity ░░░░░░░░ mean none of the ░░░░░░░░ that I have accomplished ░░░░░░░░ my life would have ░░░░░░░░ I would have been ░░░░░░░░ to do in any ░░░░░░░░ country I mean this ░░░░░░░░ this country made it ░░░░░░░░ for me to become ░░░░░░░░ greatest bodybuilder of all ░░░░░░░░ it enabled me to ░░░░░░░░ in the show business ░░░░░░░░ become a leading man ░░░░░░░░ show business and one ░░░░░░░░ the most successful actors ░░░░░░░░ decades it was able ░░░░░░░░ gave me the possibility ░░░░░░░░ run for office and ░░░░░░░░ governor of the great ░░░░░░░░ of California which is ░░░░░░░░ fifth largest economy in ░░░░░░░░ world I mean it ░░░░░░░░ all this kind of ░░░░░░░░ but it it it ░░░░░░░░ have the responsibility of ░░░░░░░░ all of that and ░░░░░░░░ have to give back ░░░░░░░░ this country and the ░░░░░░░░ cannot come over here ░░░░░░░░ just abuse the country ░░░░░░░░ have we can use ░░░░░░░░ system but we have ░░░░░░░░ give back more so ░░░░░░░░ American born individuals you ░░░░░░░░ so this is why ░░░░░░░░ always was into giving ░░░░░░░░ and to make sure ░░░░░░░░ this country stays strong ░░░░░░░░ s why I started ░░░░░░░░ with Special Olympics to ░░░░░░░░ something back to become ░░░░░░░░ international trainer for Special ░░░░░░░░ that s why I ░░░░░░░░ after school programs here ░░░░░░░░ America this is why ░░░░░░░░ became the chairman of ░░░░░░░░ president s council on ░░░░░░░░ President Bush senior and ░░░░░░░░ through all 50 states ░░░░░░░░ promote health and fitness ░░░░░░░░ exercising that s why ░░░░░░░░ ran for governor and ░░░░░░░░ my huge wages and ░░░░░░░░ that they got that ░░░░░░░░ show business and they ░░░░░░░░ t even take this ░░░░░░░░ the money as governor ░░░░░░░░ the salary that they ░░░░░░░░ they left it that ░░░░░░░░ because there s other ░░░░░░░░ that needed what and ░░░░░░░░ need that money and ░░░░░░░░ all of this happened ░░░░░░░░ s why I m ░░░░░░░░ in environmental movement to ░░░░░░░░ and to heal this ░░░░░░░░ that is right now ░░░░░░░░ and uh overloaded with ░░░░░░░░ that seven million people ░░░░░░░░ every year because of ░░░░░░░░ so we have to ░░░░░░░░ that so so we ░░░░░░░░ have to give back ░░░░░░░░ and over and over ░░░░░░░░ is our responsibility and ░░░░░░░░ is why I m ░░░░░░░░ happy of when I ░░░░░░░░ there and I watched ░░░░░░░░ testimony of Alex to ░░░░░░░░ this man is a ░░░░░░░░ that he s an ░░░░░░░░ and he is protecting ░░░░░░░░ democracy with all with ░░░░░░░░ of his energy and ░░░░░░░░ strength and leadership and ░░░░░░░░ of the stuff and ░░░░░░░░ I was so proud ░░░░░░░░ him uh to just ░░░░░░░░ him and and become ░░░░░░░░ with him after that ░░░░░░░░ Alex um you have ░░░░░░░░ now friends with those ░░░░░░░░ who were protecting the ░░░░░░░░ there and holding holding ░░░░░░░░ the line while others ░░░░░░░░ defending the big lie ░░░░░░░░ from January 6th I ░░░░░░░░ wondering what lessons you ░░░░░░░░ learned or what this ░░░░░░░░ has been like now ░░░░░░░░ you have not only ░░░░░░░░ through an impeachment um ░░░░░░░░ but also sort of ░░░░░░░░ witness to uh an ░░░░░░░░ that by the way ░░░░░░░░ large percentage of this ░░░░░░░░ believes is being you ░░░░░░░░ overplayed in this country ░░░░░░░░ that we re making ░░░░░░░░ a bigger deal than ░░░░░░░░ was some some even ░░░░░░░░ it you know tourists ░░░░░░░░ that were coming through ░░░░░░░░ yeah there are two ░░░░░░░░ basic conclusions first of ░░░░░░░░ for the for those ░░░░░░░░ that were under attack ░░░░░░░░ it s Harry Dunn ░░░░░░░░ uh Mike fanon I ░░░░░░░░ caution them to disregard ░░░░░░░░ attacks they get from ░░░░░░░░ uh across the airwaves ░░░░░░░░ across the internet who ░░░░░░░░ about those people those ░░░░░░░░ cowards they re they ░░░░░░░░ girly men that basically ░░░░░░░░ him from from afar ░░░░░░░░ network of friends their ░░░░░░░░ the people that reach ░░░░░░░░ to them the people ░░░░░░░░ meet them in the ░░░░░░░░ the ones that congratulate ░░░░░░░░ on being heroes those ░░░░░░░░ the ones that you ░░░░░░░░ should pay attention to ░░░░░░░░ I I ve received ░░░░░░░░ lot of love from ░░░░░░░░ on a face to ░░░░░░░░ basis and at the ░░░░░░░░ time have been attacked ░░░░░░░░ social media who but ░░░░░░░░ s you know you ░░░░░░░░ see the the imbalance ░░░░░░░░ why one matters another ░░░░░░░░ could be completely discounted ░░░░░░░░ uh daughter s favorite ░░░░░░░░ uh Taylor Swift says ░░░░░░░░ say in the street ░░░░░░░░ s a uh knockout ░░░░░░░░ say it in a ░░░░░░░░ it s a cop ░░░░░░░░ so you know I ░░░░░░░░ of I have those ░░░░░░░░ in my head a ░░░░░░░░ bit but um so ░░░░░░░░ s what I counseled ░░░░░░░░ to disregard those those ░░░░░░░░ and then offered kind ░░░░░░░░ uh you know a ░░░░░░░░ of friendship and support ░░░░░░░░ folks and it s ░░░░░░░░ s not just these ░░░░░░░░ it s you know ░░░░░░░░ that were testified against ░░░░░░░░ Gallagher the the seal ░░░░░░░░ criminal seal that was ░░░░░░░░ by the president all ░░░░░░░░ of people the other ░░░░░░░░ is my my kind ░░░░░░░░ martial instinct to to ░░░░░░░░ back and fight and ░░░░░░░░ m I m on ░░░░░░░░ offensive against the Tucker ░░░░░░░░ s the far right ░░░░░░░░ the the neo fascists ░░░░░░░░ mean it sounds like ░░░░░░░░ crazy word to use ░░░░░░░░ if you look at ░░░░░░░░ textbook definition of fascism ░░░░░░░░ s ultra ultra nationalism ░░░░░░░░ know desire to to ░░░░░░░░ strict social controls uh ░░░░░░░░ freedoms it is in ░░░░░░░░ what these some of ░░░░░░░░ folks are calling for ░░░░░░░░ the case of Tucker ░░░░░░░░ he actually went to ░░░░░░░░ Victor orban an authoritarian ░░░░░░░░ in hungary and touted ░░░░░░░░ system versus the the ░░░░░░░░ opportunities and the wonderful ░░░░░░░░ we have in this ░░░░░░░░ so the other thing ░░░░░░░░ do is I I ░░░░░░░░ back I couldn t ░░░░░░░░ it in uniform strangely ░░░░░░░░ because I I didn ░░░░░░░░ have the ability to ░░░░░░░░ for myself but now ░░░░░░░░ you know uh I ░░░░░░░░ I left I I ░░░░░░░░ uh recognizing that you ░░░░░░░░ my position was no ░░░░░░░░ terrible now I could ░░░░░░░░ back I ll criticize ░░░░░░░░ I ll call them ░░░░░░░░ their on their absolute ░░░░░░░░ and hatred of America ░░░░░░░░ what they espouse they ░░░░░░░░ on fears they pray ░░░░░░░░ iniquities I know last ░░░░░░░░ um the governor I ░░░░░░░░ we talked about uh ░░░░░░░░ know inequality and um ░░░░░░░░ and um and what ░░░░░░░░ kind of engenders with ░░░░░░░░ population that looks at ░░░░░░░░ that falls back on ░░░░░░░░ and we we talked ░░░░░░░░ some of these difficult ░░░░░░░░ but these are the ░░░░░░░░ that that these you ░░░░░░░░ uh parasites feed on ░░░░░░░░ Music to uh increase ░░░░░░░░ own power to increase ░░░░░░░░ own wealth to profit ░░░░░░░░ I m not gonna ░░░░░░░░ back and and let ░░░░░░░░ folks get away with ░░░░░░░░ with my my with ░░░░░░░░ uh with all kind ░░░░░░░░ my limited means I ░░░░░░░░ uh I ll I ░░░░░░░░ I ll expose them ░░░░░░░░ who they are and ░░░░░░░░ s one of the ░░░░░░░░ uh those are the ░░░░░░░░ real things I ve ░░░░░░░░ ve gotten out of ░░░░░░░░ experience well with all ░░░░░░░░ respect I would argue ░░░░░░░░ wife punches back even ░░░░░░░░ than you do so ░░░░░░░░ she s together well ░░░░░░░░ does it well and ░░░░░░░░ s just a natural ░░░░░░░░ for her she speaks ░░░░░░░░ to power governor let ░░░░░░░░ ask you about that ░░░░░░░░ follow up on given ░░░░░░░░ background what you thought ░░░░░░░░ you saw that the ░░░░░░░░ nation s most watched ░░░░░░░░ cable news host on ░░░░░░░░ most watched network which ░░░░░░░░ majority of you know ░░░░░░░░ um or I would ░░░░░░░░ I would say it ░░░░░░░░ fair to say the ░░░░░░░░ of viewers happen to ░░░░░░░░ Republican spent a week ░░░░░░░░ hungary and and supporting ░░░░░░░░ Victor orban and his ░░░░░░░░ I mean it sort ░░░░░░░░ blew my mind but ░░░░░░░░ s hard to say ░░░░░░░░ blows my mind at ░░░░░░░░ point I m just ░░░░░░░░ given your experiences given ░░░░░░░░ the majority of Americans ░░░░░░░░ don t even know ░░░░░░░░ Victor orban really is ░░░░░░░░ what he s done ░░░░░░░░ hungary um what did ░░░░░░░░ did you make of ░░░░░░░░ well first of all ░░░░░░░░ m not going to ░░░░░░░░ into uh those kind ░░░░░░░░ things I mean people ░░░░░░░░ endorse anyone they want ░░░░░░░░ can run for any ░░░░░░░░ that they want notice ░░░░░░░░ think for me to ░░░░░░░░ on it is not ░░░░░░░░ to bring America together ░░░░░░░░ think that the thing ░░░░░░░░ I want to focus ░░░░░░░░ is the subject that ░░░░░░░░ re talking about which ░░░░░░░░ how do we make ░░░░░░░░ uh stay great and ░░░░░░░░ thing that I have ░░░░░░░░ talking about for quite ░░░░░░░░ time now is we ░░░░░░░░ to come together as ░░░░░░░░ nation uh not only ░░░░░░░░ to defend democracy but ░░░░░░░░ how do we make ░░░░░░░░ country uh and stay ░░░░░░░░ one in the future ░░░░░░░░ way we can do ░░░░░░░░ is by coming together ░░░░░░░░ got to go and ░░░░░░░░ you know stop the ░░░░░░░░ the other side uh ░░░░░░░░ cannot be a team ░░░░░░░░ you think about a ░░░░░░░░ team but when you ░░░░░░░░ about the football team ░░░░░░░░ makes the team win ░░░░░░░░ is if they re ░░░░░░░░ and if they communicate ░░░░░░░░ and they re going ░░░░░░░░ the same direction and ░░░░░░░░ we have been doing ░░░░░░░░ here is in America ░░░░░░░░ s Republicans fighting Democrats ░░░░░░░░ fighting whites Mexican fighting ░░░░░░░░ asians fighting everything and ░░░░░░░░ against women women against ░░░░░░░░ and all of this ░░░░░░░░ of stuff I don ░░░░░░░░ think this is going ░░░░░░░░ bring the nation together ░░░░░░░░ we have to do ░░░░░░░░ we have to talk ░░░░░░░░ how do we come ░░░░░░░░ and work together because ░░░░░░░░ all have a common ░░░░░░░░ this is to keep ░░░░░░░░ country number one and ░░░░░░░░ is why I just ░░░░░░░░ tolerance inclusion and negotiations ░░░░░░░░ compromise those are the ░░░░░░░░ of things that I ░░░░░░░░ have worked towards and ░░░░░░░░ I was able to ░░░░░░░░ be able as a ░░░░░░░░ governor for instance to ░░░░░░░░ in a state that ░░░░░░░░ a majority of democratic ░░░░░░░░ we were able to ░░░░░░░░ together to comfort certain ░░░░░░░░ like environmental issues and ░░░░░░░░ issues and health care ░░░░░░░░ and education issues and ░░░░░░░░ on we were able ░░░░░░░░ work together there were ░░░░░░░░ other things that we ░░░░░░░░ t work together like ░░░░░░░░ issues that the other ░░░░░░░░ wanted to spend more ░░░░░░░░ always money that we ░░░░░░░░ t have and you ░░░░░░░░ being a conservative I ░░░░░░░░ to of course you ░░░░░░░░ only try to spend ░░░░░░░░ money that we do ░░░░░░░░ and uh so and ░░░░░░░░ things we didn t ░░░░░░░░ along but in other ░░░░░░░░ we did get along ░░░░░░░░ we made a real ░░░░░░░░ Democrats and Republicans alike ░░░░░░░░ an effort to make ░░░░░░░░ that was best for ░░░░░░░░ state of California and ░░░░░░░░ were very happy to ░░░░░░░░ that you know the ░░░░░░░░ is without any doubt ░░░░░░░░ most successful state in ░░░░░░░░ union be the number ░░░░░░░░ economy in California because ░░░░░░░░ that of them both ░░░░░░░░ together and we re ░░░░░░░░ fifth largest economy in ░░░░░░░░ world and we re ░░░░░░░░ one in so many ░░░░░░░░ areas and so I ░░░░░░░░ those are the issues ░░░░░░░░ needs to work together ░░░░░░░░ a lot of challenges ░░░░░░░░ it is immigration reform ░░░░░░░░ it is health care ░░░░░░░░ if it is building ░░░░░░░░ infrastructure and uh you ░░░░░░░░ kind of protecting the ░░░░░░░░ having an energy policy ░░░░░░░░ is sound in the ░░░░░░░░ and all this kind ░░░░░░░░ issues uh what our ░░░░░░░░ should be to be ░░░░░░░░ competitive internationally and so ░░░░░░░░ how do we go ░░░░░░░░ in that direction so ░░░░░░░░ mean there s so ░░░░░░░░ things to address uh ░░░░░░░░ I think those are ░░░░░░░░ really important issues so ░░░░░░░░ always promote let s ░░░░░░░░ together we can have ░░░░░░░░ point of views but ░░░░░░░░ must come together and ░░░░░░░░ decisions together in order ░░░░░░░░ really keep this the ░░░░░░░░ one nation in the ░░░░░░░░ yeah can I make ░░░░░░░░ comment on this one ░░░░░░░░ I this is something ░░░░░░░░ ve spent a lot ░░░░░░░░ time thinking about and ░░░░░░░░ completely understand and take ░░░░░░░░ the governor s point ░░░░░░░░ am also laser focused ░░░░░░░░ unity I ve you ░░░░░░░░ I thought that in ░░░░░░░░ way I had this ░░░░░░░░ thinking about after there ░░░░░░░░ a change in administration ░░░░░░░░ Biden came to power ░░░░░░░░ we would be able ░░░░░░░░ advance the president s ░░░░░░░░ President Biden s agenda ░░░░░░░░ unifying addressing kind of ░░░░░░░░ issues but frankly I ░░░░░░░░ I think that there ░░░░░░░░ a missing component with ░░░░░░░░ at the moment and ░░░░░░░░ just has not been ░░░░░░░░ done to um expose ░░░░░░░░ wrongdoing of the previous ░░░░░░░░ it s not to ░░░░░░░░ them or to uh ░░░░░░░░ know basically to punish ░░░░░░░░ it s to understand ░░░░░░░░ what kind of weaknesses ░░░░░░░░ are in the system ░░░░░░░░ we could be we ░░░░░░░░ be stronger and harder ░░░░░░░░ the next time we ░░░░░░░░ challenges and I think ░░░░░░░░ know when I talk ░░░░░░░░ folks I I I ░░░░░░░░ didn t say Republicans ░░░░░░░░ something like that because ░░░░░░░░ s not a Republican ░░░░░░░░ question for me you ░░░░░░░░ the Republican Party uh ░░░░░░░░ has has added just ░░░░░░░░ much to this country ░░░░░░░░ the Democratic Party at ░░░░░░░░ points it s less ░░░░░░░░ that it s it ░░░░░░░░ about kind of fringe ░░░░░░░░ elements potentially on both ░░░░░░░░ frankly that are undermining ░░░░░░░░ country and driving us ░░░░░░░░ instead of bringing us ░░░░░░░░ so I m I ░░░░░░░░ with you governor about ░░░░░░░░ know uh figuring out ░░░░░░░░ to bring this country ░░░░░░░░ I think that s ░░░░░░░░ of the reasons that ░░░░░░░░ know renewed democracy initiative ░░░░░░░░ kind of looked uh ░░░░░░░░ to to uh your ░░░░░░░░ for some leadership um ░░░░░░░░ there s also an ░░░░░░░░ to to accountability just ░░░░░░░░ make sure that we ░░░░░░░░ understand where the weaknesses ░░░░░░░░ and can fix those ░░░░░░░░ absolutely and I think ░░░░░░░░ we should not forget ░░░░░░░░ we are by far ░░░░░░░░ best country in the ░░░░░░░░ with all of our ░░░░░░░░ we are you know ░░░░░░░░ have our hiccups we ░░░░░░░░ our uh you know ░░░░░░░░ problems big issues to ░░░░░░░░ and all of this ░░░░░░░░ you know whenever I ░░░░░░░░ overseas I tell you ░░░░░░░░ the amount of people ░░░░░░░░ come up to me ░░░░░░░░ that asked me to ░░░░░░░░ them to get to ░░░░░░░░ United States is staggering ░░░░░░░░ has never changed it ░░░░░░░░ the same 20 years ░░░░░░░░ 50 years ago and ░░░░░░░░ day is the same ░░░░░░░░ people coming up to ░░░░░░░░ said please can you ░░░░░░░░ me I can t ░░░░░░░░ a visa I want ░░░░░░░░ come to America and ░░░░░░░░ want to go and ░░░░░░░░ live over there and ░░░░░░░░ this stuff so this ░░░░░░░░ still the most desirable ░░░░░░░░ in the world by ░░░░░░░░ and I think it ░░░░░░░░ important to know and ░░░░░░░░ also want to just ░░░░░░░░ you know that even ░░░░░░░░ people thought oh my ░░░░░░░░ what is happening to ░░░░░░░░ when this happened on ░░░░░░░░ 6th I came over ░░░░░░░░ in 1968 when uh ░░░░░░░░ had you know that ░░░░░░░░ was the year when ░░░░░░░░ Bobby Kennedy was shot ░░░░░░░░ was the year when ░░░░░░░░ had the huge protests ░░░░░░░░ the democratic convention in ░░░░░░░░ but people were clubbed ░░░░░░░░ death by the police ░░░░░░░░ there was this kind ░░░░░░░░ like unbelievable uproar there ░░░░░░░░ and madness the hippie ░░░░░░░░ the vietnam war then ░░░░░░░░ that it was followed ░░░░░░░░ a Watergate uh which ░░░░░░░░ a huge disaster for ░░░░░░░░ and it went on ░░░░░░░░ on and on so ░░░░░░░░ have gone through some ░░░░░░░░ times in America and ░░░░░░░░ always came out like ░░░░░░░░ said with the nietzsche ░░░░░░░░ we always came out ░░░░░░░░ on the end and ░░░░░░░░ think we re going ░░░░░░░░ come out stronger with ░░░░░░░░ a huge you know ░░░░░░░░ that happened there on ░░░░░░░░ 6 trying to overthrow ░░░░░░░░ government and trying to ░░░░░░░░ about the election I ░░░░░░░░ we all know over ░░░░░░░░ over we were you ░░░░░░░░ it was proven that ░░░░░░░░ is our president he ░░░░░░░░ the large majority of ░░░░░░░░ votes there was no ░░░░░░░░ going on there there ░░░░░░░░ no corruption there at ░░░░░░░░ and I think that ░░░░░░░░ is still the denials ░░░░░░░░ there of that and ░░░░░░░░ re just blind like ░░░░░░░░ said those are people ░░░░░░░░ just want to get ░░░░░░░░ they don t care ░░░░░░░░ the country and I ░░░░░░░░ this is the important ░░░░░░░░ here and but we ░░░░░░░░ going to move forward ░░░░░░░░ a country and I ░░░░░░░░ like to just not ░░░░░░░░ kind of um you ░░░░░░░░ get off what I ░░░░░░░░ saying but I just ░░░░░░░░ like to have Alex ░░░░░░░░ a little bit about ░░░░░░░░ work with kasparov because ░░░░░░░░ think it s fascinating ░░░░░░░░ you guys are working ░░░░░░░░ know the reason why ░░░░░░░░ make mention kasparov is ░░░░░░░░ he s one of ░░░░░░░░ chess heroes with him ░░░░░░░░ he was kind enough ░░░░░░░░ stop the game before ░░░░░░░░ destroyed me I mean ░░░░░░░░ so it doesn t ░░░░░░░░ my ego yeah but ░░░░░░░░ mean this is so ░░░░░░░░ that you guys are ░░░░░░░░ together again two immigrants ░░░░░░░░ together to keep this ░░░░░░░░ really strong in America ░░░░░░░░ want to talk just ░░░░░░░░ little bit about data ░░░░░░░░ of course uh you ░░░░░░░░ it s it s ░░░░░░░░ how we share uh ░░░░░░░░ broader perspective sometimes that ░░░░░░░░ just don t necessarily ░░░░░░░░ you know not everybody ░░░░░░░░ the opportunity to travel ░░░░░░░░ to see the hardships ░░░░░░░░ how much more challenging ░░░░░░░░ is elsewhere I think ░░░░░░░░ know this group here ░░░░░░░░ has has that breadth ░░░░░░░░ experience and understands the ░░░░░░░░ opportunities in this country ░░░░░░░░ we re trying to ░░░░░░░░ this country strong you ░░░░░░░░ in his case he ░░░░░░░░ to keep the country ░░░░░░░░ internally but also as ░░░░░░░░ leader in the world ░░░░░░░░ democracies leading kind of ░░░░░░░░ trying to advance prosperity ░░░░░░░░ you from your uh ░░░░░░░░ advanced prosperity for humanity ░░░░░░░░ only a role that ░░░░░░░░ United States could fill ░░░░░░░░ as a leading nation ░░░░░░░░ uh with the renewed ░░░░░░░░ initiative we we ve ░░░░░░░░ a number of initiatives ░░░░░░░░ mentioned that what what ░░░░░░░░ democracy mean to me ░░░░░░░░ have a project in ░░░░░░░░ works with frankly with ░░░░░░░░ um I m not ░░░░░░░░ if it s announced ░░░░░░░░ so uh but it ░░░░░░░░ anyway it s talking ░░░░░░░░ dissidents and the the ░░░░░░░░ that dissidents in other ░░░░░░░░ of the world face ░░░░░░░░ in and um you ░░░░░░░░ a little bit of ░░░░░░░░ insight into the dangers ░░░░░░░░ u s has at ░░░░░░░░ moment with with regards ░░░░░░░░ fringe elements um mainly ░░░░░░░░ the right right now ░░░░░░░░ far right uh that ░░░░░░░░ looking to kind of ░░░░░░░░ um double down on ░░░░░░░░ and tropism so we ░░░░░░░░ looking at those types ░░░░░░░░ projects we re looking ░░░░░░░░ frankly a whole host ░░░░░░░░ different ideas to address ░░░░░░░░ issues uh that that ░░░░░░░░ this country and could ░░░░░░░░ this country in a ░░░░░░░░ of leadership and I ░░░░░░░░ very proud to be ░░░░░░░░ the board of the ░░░░░░░░ democracy initiative and uh ░░░░░░░░ know work with um ░░░░░░░░ governor schwarzenegger and all ░░░░░░░░ of other organizations to ░░░░░░░░ our common common interests ░░░░░░░░ keep this country great ░░░░░░░░ this country strong it ░░░░░░░░ amazing and and it ░░░░░░░░ incredible work that that ░░░░░░░░ has done sort of ░░░░░░░░ the the second half ░░░░░░░░ his you know career ░░░░░░░░ life right first you ░░░░░░░░ chess champion of the ░░░░░░░░ and then you go ░░░░░░░░ becoming a crusader for ░░░░░░░░ around the world um ░░░░░░░░ high bar there for ░░░░░░░░ someone to top governor ░░░░░░░░ part of this and ░░░░░░░░ democracy is um shooting ░░░░░░░░ misinformation and lies and ░░░░░░░░ know what s struck by a ░░░░░░░░ post that I think ░░░░░░░░ put up just earlier ░░░░░░░░ week about all of ░░░░░░░░ misinformation surrounding covet and ░░░░░░░░ vaccines and an issue ░░░░░░░░ re once again battling ░░░░░░░░ this country where we ░░░░░░░░ seeing an increased number ░░░░░░░░ people hospitalized our frontline ░░░░░░░░ are once again having ░░░░░░░░ exhaust themselves in saving ░░░░░░░░ and we have so ░░░░░░░░ who refuse to get ░░░░░░░░ vaccine I just want ░░░░░░░░ read a portion of ░░░░░░░░ you wrote you said ░░░░░░░░ Fauci and all the ░░░░░░░░ and epidemiologists and doctors ░░░░░░░░ studied diseases and vaccines ░░░░░░░░ their entire lives so ░░░░░░░░ listen to them and ░░░░░░░░ urge you to do ░░░░░░░░ same none of us ░░░░░░░░ going to learn more ░░░░░░░░ them more than them ░░░░░░░░ watching a few hours ░░░░░░░░ videos it s simple ░░░░░░░░ your house is on ░░░░░░░░ you don t go ░░░░░░░░ youtube you call the ░░░░░░░░ fire department if you ░░░░░░░░ a heart attack you ░░░░░░░░ t check your Facebook ░░░░░░░░ you call an ambulance ░░░░░░░░ nine doctors tell you ░░░░░░░░ have cancer and need ░░░░░░░░ treat it or you ░░░░░░░░ die and one doctor ░░░░░░░░ the cancer will disappear ░░░░░░░░ should always side with ░░░░░░░░ nine what inspired you ░░░░░░░░ finally publicly make a ░░░░░░░░ like this which is ░░░░░░░░ 000 accurate well first ░░░░░░░░ all you have to ░░░░░░░░ that as soon as ░░░░░░░░ virus happened and we ░░░░░░░░ uh finally people more ░░░░░░░░ more people uh from ░░░░░░░░ have you know kind ░░░░░░░░ acknowledge the fact that ░░░░░░░░ is a virus uh ░░░░░░░░ they were kind of ░░░░░░░░ late may I remind ░░░░░░░░ in wanting the people ░░░░░░░░ finally when they did ░░░░░░░░ us and it did ░░░░░░░░ and we had to ░░░░░░░░ of cancel our arnold ░░░░░░░░ classic sports and fitness ░░░░░░░░ in Columbus and we ░░░░░░░░ only allowed to have ░░░░░░░░ limited crowd last March ░░░░░░░░ meaning a year ago ░░░░░░░░ year and a half ░░░░░░░░ that s when I ░░░░░░░░ that we all have ░░░░░░░░ now come together on ░░░░░░░░ thing and so I ░░░░░░░░ putting posts out there ░░░░░░░░ washing your hands regularly ░░░░░░░░ wearing a mask and ░░░░░░░░ do social distancing and ░░░░░░░░ follow the kind of ░░░░░░░░ that the experts put ░░░░░░░░ there and to face ░░░░░░░░ fact that this is ░░░░░░░░ and this is going ░░░░░░░░ grow and it s ░░░░░░░░ to expand and it ░░░░░░░░ going to really affect ░░░░░░░░ lot of people s ░░░░░░░░ and so now cut ░░░░░░░░ and a half later ░░░░░░░░ are still in a ░░░░░░░░ and uh you know ░░░░░░░░ s still people that ░░░░░░░░ in denials there s ░░░░░░░░ people that don t ░░░░░░░░ in masks there s ░░░░░░░░ people out there that ░░░░░░░░ well we don t ░░░░░░░░ to do social distancing ░░░░░░░░ all this kind of ░░░░░░░░ and I just think ░░░░░░░░ people ought to be ░░░░░░░░ over and over that ░░░░░░░░ experts are saying that ░░░░░░░░ have to wear masks ░░░░░░░░ when you go indoor ░░░░░░░░ experts are saying we ░░░░░░░░ should wash our hands ░░░░░░░░ we should still do ░░░░░░░░ distancing especially now with ░░░░░░░░ new comeback of the ░░░░░░░░ which is the fourth ░░░░░░░░ now uh that we ░░░░░░░░ to really go and ░░░░░░░░ together on that and ░░░░░░░░ there is misinformation out ░░░░░░░░ and my point of ░░░░░░░░ was basically look I ░░░░░░░░ an expert on how ░░░░░░░░ build a bicep and ░░░░░░░░ therefore I know exactly ░░░░░░░░ I m talking about ░░░░░░░░ ve studied this issue ░░░░░░░░ know exactly how to ░░░░░░░░ this peak and all ░░░░░░░░ stuff there s no ░░░░░░░░ that knows more about ░░░░░░░░ bicep than I do ░░░░░░░░ I studied this issue ░░░░░░░░ 50 years and the ░░░░░░░░ is also with the ░░░░░░░░ the people out there ░░░░░░░░ are experts that study ░░░░░░░░ year after year of ░░░░░░░░ year and that they ░░░░░░░░ like dr Fauci that ░░░░░░░░ been this you know ░░░░░░░░ for his entire life ░░░░░░░░ mean why would you ░░░░░░░░ believe someone like that ░░░░░░░░ and there s so ░░░░░░░░ other scientists out there ░░░░░░░░ experts in this subject ░░░░░░░░ I believe them and ░░░░░░░░ follow them very carefully ░░░░░░░░ of course sometimes things ░░░░░░░░ happening that are unexpected ░░░░░░░░ then you have to ░░░░░░░░ the adjustments and all ░░░░░░░░ but I think people ░░░░░░░░ know there is a ░░░░░░░░ here it kills people ░░░░░░░░ the only way we ░░░░░░░░ this is to get ░░░░░░░░ to wear masks to ░░░░░░░░ social distancing washing your ░░░░░░░░ all the time and ░░░░░░░░ just to think about ░░░░░░░░ my freedom is being ░░░░░░░░ of disturbed here no ░░░░░░░░ your freedom because with ░░░░░░░░ comes obligations and and ░░░░░░░░ responsibilities we cannot just ░░░░░░░░ I have the right ░░░░░░░░ the x y and ░░░░░░░░ when you affect other ░░░░░░░░ that is when it ░░░░░░░░ serious it s like ░░░░░░░░ different than the traffic ░░░░░░░░ we put the traffic ░░░░░░░░ at the intersection so ░░░░░░░░ doesn t kill someone ░░░░░░░░ by accident so this ░░░░░░░░ why we have a ░░░░░░░░ that you cannot say ░░░░░░░░ one is going to ░░░░░░░░ me that I m ░░░░░░░░ to stop here you ░░░░░░░░ have to stop at ░░░░░░░░ traffic light here I ░░░░░░░░ going to go right ░░░░░░░░ it yeah then you ░░░░░░░░ someone else and then ░░░░░░░░ is you doing so ░░░░░░░░ is the same thing ░░░░░░░░ the virus you cannot ░░░░░░░░ and not put the ░░░░░░░░ on because when you ░░░░░░░░ you can infect someone ░░░░░░░░ and you can infect ░░░░░░░░ that then gets sick ░░░░░░░░ may die so this ░░░░░░░░ why I think we ░░░░░░░░ have to work together ░░░░░░░░ this the only way ░░░░░░░░ can lick this virus ░░░░░░░░ again if we do ░░░░░░░░ I suggested earlier but ░░░░░░░░ you have to come ░░░░░░░░ rather than fighting and ░░░░░░░░ just saying this according ░░░░░░░░ my principles I this ░░░░░░░░ a free country and ░░░░░░░░ m gonna have the ░░░░░░░░ to wear no mask ░░░░░░░░ have the freedom to ░░░░░░░░ no mask but you ░░░░░░░░ something you re a ░░░░░░░░ for not wearing a ░░░░░░░░ because you re not ░░░░░░░░ to protect your fellow ░░░░░░░░ around you it s ░░░░░░░░ that simple so this ░░░░░░░░ the way I feel ░░░░░░░░ it and that s ░░░░░░░░ I am out there ░░░░░░░░ talking about it and ░░░░░░░░ out about it and ░░░░░░░░ videos and all this ░░░░░░░░ of stuff because I ░░░░░░░░ people to understand uh ░░░░░░░░ don t want to ░░░░░░░░ anyone here but I ░░░░░░░░ want to tell everyone ░░░░░░░░ s work together and ░░░░░░░░ s stop fighting because ░░░░░░░░ is a virus and ░░░░░░░░ s better to get ░░░░░░░░ to wear masks that ░░░░░░░░ just prompt me to ░░░░░░░░ quote that I found ░░░░░░░░ yours that I think ░░░░░░░░ is apt for for ░░░░░░░░ you just described and ░░░░░░░░ said I operate with ░░░░░░░░ European mind and I ░░░░░░░░ operate with an American ░░░░░░░░ that s is just as powerful ░░░░░░░░ many ways because you ░░░░░░░░ such a big social ░░░░░░░░ platform how do we ░░░░░░░░ voices like yours to ░░░░░░░░ the truth as opposed ░░░░░░░░ some of the other ░░░░░░░░ that s on social ░░░░░░░░ right now well first ░░░░░░░░ all what you talked ░░░░░░░░ was that because I ░░░░░░░░ a foreigner because I ░░░░░░░░ born in austria made ░░░░░░░░ America okay because of ░░░░░░░░ I have on one ░░░░░░░░ the austrians sitting there ░░░░░░░░ then the other side ░░░░░░░░ American arnold sitting there ░░░░░░░░ they re arguing all ░░░░░░░░ time may I remind ░░░░░░░░ all of them about ░░░░░░░░ issue because I grew ░░░░░░░░ like for instance with ░░░░░░░░ uh you know universal ░░░░░░░░ so of course when ░░░░░░░░ became governor I promoted ░░░░░░░░ tried to bring everyone ░░░░░░░░ and we were almost ░░░░░░░░ uh to make to ░░░░░░░░ universal health care in ░░░░░░░░ and then of course ░░░░░░░░ the Republicans they said ░░░░░░░░ s the matter with ░░░░░░░░ he must have been ░░░░░░░░ out with teddy Kennedy ░░░░░░░░ much with those candidates ░░░░░░░░ he s married to ░░░░░░░░ Kennedy so this is ░░░░░░░░ more and more Democrat ░░░░░░░░ s not really a ░░░░░░░░ it had nothing to ░░░░░░░░ with the Democratic Party ░░░░░░░░ had only to do ░░░░░░░░ that I grew up ░░░░░░░░ a health care system ░░░░░░░░ everyone was insured and ░░░░░░░░ liked that and I ░░░░░░░░ like the fifth largest ░░░░░░░░ in the world the ░░░░░░░░ state in the union ░░░░░░░░ have universal health care ░░░░░░░░ everyone is insured let ░░░░░░░░ figure it out had ░░░░░░░░ to do with Democrats ░░░░░░░░ Republicans why is one ░░░░░░░░ have to carve out ░░░░░░░░ for themselves this is ░░░░░░░░ sense that is good ░░░░░░░░ all people not just ░░░░░░░░ Democrats or Republicans it ░░░░░░░░ the same thing with ░░░░░░░░ environment there is no ░░░░░░░░ ear there is no ░░░░░░░░ ear there is no ░░░░░░░░ water there s no ░░░░░░░░ water we all drink ░░░░░░░░ same water we all ░░░░░░░░ the same air so ░░░░░░░░ s stop this nonsense ░░░░░░░░ this kind of like ░░░░░░░░ dialogue this is a ░░░░░░░░ principle this is a ░░░░░░░░ principle it s all ░░░░░░░░ the thing is that ░░░░░░░░ have an obligation to ░░░░░░░░ and to really solve ░░░░░░░░ problems as they come ░░░░░░░░ so we should have ░░░░░░░░ care for everybody in ░░░░░░░░ we should go get ░░░░░░░░ of pollution uh as ░░░░░░░░ as possible and not ░░░░░░░░ is the climate change ░░░░░░░░ the climate change there ░░░░░░░░ nothing to do with ░░░░░░░░ at all it has ░░░░░░░░ do with you got ░░░░░░░░ get rid of pollution ░░░░░░░░ Ronald Reagan he was ░░░░░░░░ great Republican but he ░░░░░░░░ the air resources board ░░░░░░░░ California that enables us ░░░░░░░░ go and to reduce ░░░░░░░░ greenhouse gases in California ░░░░░░░░ the only state in ░░░░░░░░ union that reduced its ░░░░░░░░ gases by 25 within ░░░░░░░░ 10 year period and ░░░░░░░░ the same time even ░░░░░░░░ they say this is ░░░░░░░░ to hurt the economy ░░░░░░░░ are number one economically ░░░░░░░░ our our increase in ░░░░░░░░ goes up faster than ░░░░░░░░ any other state and ░░░░░░░░ second largest after China ░░░░░░░░ it just shows you ░░░░░░░░ you can make you ░░░░░░░░ protect the environment and ░░░░░░░░ economy so those are ░░░░░░░░ kind of things it ░░░░░░░░ common sense stuff that ░░░░░░░░ m talking about and ░░░░░░░░ m very fortunate I ░░░░░░░░ that all of both ░░░░░░░░ you are that we ░░░░░░░░ from another place and ░░░░░░░░ see things in different ░░░░░░░░ and therefore I think ░░░░░░░░ enriches you and it ░░░░░░░░ you with your decision ░░░░░░░░ yeah and just in ░░░░░░░░ final few moments here ░░░░░░░░ just want to piggyback ░░░░░░░░ that point because you ░░░░░░░░ you could say you ░░░░░░░░ talk about the economy ░░░░░░░░ you want without a ░░░░░░░░ you you don t ░░░░░░░░ any concerns about an ░░░░░░░░ so we re all ░░░░░░░░ this together especially after ░░░░░░░░ devastating u n report ░░░░░░░░ on climate change um ░░░░░░░░ the last few minutes ░░░░░░░░ I do want to ░░░░░░░░ you something else about ░░░░░░░░ background because especially as ░░░░░░░░ Soviet immigrant like we ░░░░░░░░ are what really stood ░░░░░░░░ about your story is ░░░░░░░░ not just you not ░░░░░░░░ one of your brothers ░░░░░░░░ all of your brothers ░░░░░░░░ gave back to this ░░░░░░░░ by serving in the ░░░░░░░░ voluntarily question but first ░░░░░░░░ I ll tell you ░░░░░░░░ s just so wonderful ░░░░░░░░ to uh governor schwarzenegger ░░░░░░░░ with the hope and ░░░░░░░░ voice something that I ░░░░░░░░ all of us share ░░░░░░░░ a love of country ░░░░░░░░ looking for ways to ░░░░░░░░ this country better to ░░░░░░░░ the the lives of ░░░░░░░░ citizens better bring people ░░░░░░░░ I mean honestly it ░░░░░░░░ it s a beautiful ░░░░░░░░ to hear and uh ░░░░░░░░ we definitely need uh ░░░░░░░░ of those kinds of ░░░░░░░░ and more people speaking ░░░░░░░░ uh with a love ░░░░░░░░ country not a kind ░░░░░░░░ a hatred or uh ░░░░░░░░ rancor or something that ░░░░░░░░ focused on the you ░░░░░░░░ the the the shortcomings ░░░░░░░░ exist but that we ░░░░░░░░ always kind of sought ░░░░░░░░ overcome and made progress ░░░░░░░░ so it s great ░░░░░░░░ of hearing this and ░░░░░░░░ maybe there s something ░░░░░░░░ be said about kind ░░░░░░░░ maybe the institution need ░░░░░░░░ Constitution needs that we ░░░░░░░░ and if immigrants are ░░░░░░░░ for you know 40 ░░░░░░░░ or more maybe we ░░░░░░░░ have uh eligibility for ░░░░░░░░ higher office also but ░░░░░░░░ to answer your question ░░░░░░░░ me just say let ░░░░░░░░ uh at ░░░░░░░░ point or another all ░░░░░░░░ us had the opportunity ░░░░░░░░ make this decision and ░░░░░░░░ single one of us ░░░░░░░░ to to contribute in ░░░░░░░░ way or another my ░░░░░░░░ brother kind of was ░░░░░░░░ broke at the ground ░░░░░░░░ us because he he ░░░░░░░░ he started out in ░░░░░░░░ he enlisted and was ░░░░░░░░ special forces reservist when ░░░░░░░░ still had that that ░░░░░░░░ of uh specialty and ░░░░░░░░ we needed a way ░░░░░░░░ get our energy out ░░░░░░░░ the book I talk ░░░░░░░░ how we were kind ░░░░░░░░ rascals growing up uh ░░░░░░░░ particularly focused troublemakers getting ░░░░░░░░ fights and all that ░░░░░░░░ of stuff and we ░░░░░░░░ a way to get ░░░░░░░░ energy out I wish ░░░░░░░░ was through bodybuilding when ░░░░░░░░ were that young but ░░░░░░░░ know we didn t ░░░░░░░░ we should have tried ░░░░░░░░ but um once we ░░░░░░░░ our military service it ░░░░░░░░ clear that you know ░░░░░░░░ is a way that ░░░░░░░░ can both contribute to ░░░░░░░░ to the nation but ░░░░░░░░ to improving ourselves I ░░░░░░░░ I think it s ░░░░░░░░ when you read the ░░░░░░░░ how much I benefited ░░░░░░░░ my military service how ░░░░░░░░ I learned how much ░░░░░░░░ grew as a human ░░░░░░░░ how much I grew ░░░░░░░░ you know a better ░░░░░░░░ father uh leader and ░░░░░░░░ was able to do ░░░░░░░░ through public service so ░░░░░░░░ when I talk about ░░░░░░░░ you know what what ░░░░░░░░ I could draw is ░░░░░░░░ at service look at ░░░░░░░░ as a way to ░░░░░░░░ do something that s ░░░░░░░░ externally bigger than yourself ░░░░░░░░ it helps you to ░░░░░░░░ back to the community ░░░░░░░░ it also helps you ░░░░░░░░ as an individual and ░░░░░░░░ doing this you start ░░░░░░░░ figure out what are ░░░░░░░░ right things to do ░░░░░░░░ to overcome challenges and ░░░░░░░░ day you ll be ░░░░░░░░ with you know these ░░░░░░░░ tremendous challenges uh you ░░░░░░░░ I I was faced ░░░░░░░░ one and I think ░░░░░░░░ my decades of public ░░░░░░░░ my upbringing my moral ░░░░░░░░ allowed me to kind ░░░░░░░░ navigate it in a ░░░░░░░░ that I felt was ░░░░░░░░ in a way that ░░░░░░░░ could live with um ░░░░░░░░ I encourage people to ░░░░░░░░ look at service local ░░░░░░░░ know federal state the things ░░░░░░░░ they learned at one ░░░░░░░░ just I mean you ░░░░░░░░ putting together your clothes ░░░░░░░░ know ironing is sure ░░░░░░░░ knowing uh learning how ░░░░░░░░ sew on a button ░░░░░░░░ to iron and press ░░░░░░░░ pants how to get ░░░░░░░░ at five in the ░░░░░░░░ and how to go ░░░░░░░░ your runs and how ░░░░░░░░ go and handle weapons ░░░░░░░░ how to drive an ░░░░░░░░ American patent tank and ░░░░░░░░ those kind of things ░░░░░░░░ mean you know and ░░░░░░░░ was such a tough ░░░░░░░░ of a year when ░░░░░░░░ goes through this basic ░░░░░░░░ and all this stuff ░░░░░░░░ after that nothing is ░░░░░░░░ anymore nothing everything is ░░░░░░░░ easy after that so ░░░░░░░░ think the discipline and ░░░░░░░░ stuff the camaraderie and ░░░░░░░░ that you learn in ░░░░░░░░ military is priceless I ░░░░░░░░ I tell you I ░░░░░░░░ am so happy that ░░░░░░░░ was able to go ░░░░░░░░ be in the military ░░░░░░░░ one year and get ░░░░░░░░ kind of training that ░░░░░░░░ get it did now ░░░░░░░░ you multiply that with ░░░░░░░░ amount of years that ░░░░░░░░ has been in the ░░░░░░░░ it s unbelievable so ░░░░░░░░ know I don t ░░░░░░░░ what Alex s uh ░░░░░░░░ is I don t ░░░░░░░░ what his dreams are ░░░░░░░░ don t know what ░░░░░░░░ sees in front of ░░░░░░░░ in the future so ░░░░░░░░ is the important thing ░░░░░░░░ what is his dream ░░░░░░░░ does he want to ░░░░░░░░ so for me I when I feel ░░░░░░░░ this country s not ░░░░░░░░ in the right direction ░░░░░░░░ puts things into perspective ░░░░░░░░ says this is the ░░░░░░░░ country in the world ░░░░░░░░ things will resolve itself ░░░░░░░░ of the the thesis ░░░░░░░░ this conversation today but ░░░░░░░░ question to you is ░░░░░░░░ you think an immigrant ░░░░░░░░ came here with just ░░░░░░░░ few dollars like you ░░░░░░░░ Alex and my family ░░░░░░░░ few decades ago you ░░░░░░░░ decade ahead of Alex ░░░░░░░░ and myself um do ░░░░░░░░ think they could still ░░░░░░░░ the same opportunities does ░░░░░░░░ country still offer the ░░░░░░░░ opportunities that that you ░░░░░░░░ my family and Alex ░░░░░░░░ all our own separate ░░░░░░░░ were able to achieve ░░░░░░░░ quickly without any doubt ░░░░░░░░ mean and the reason ░░░░░░░░ m saying this so ░░░░░░░░ is because I just ░░░░░░░░ a guy down in ░░░░░░░░ gym it goes Jim ░░░░░░░░ comes up to me ░░░░░░░░ I see him all ░░░░░░░░ time training people he ░░░░░░░░ a trainer and he ░░░░░░░░ from Africa and uh ░░░░░░░░ is been here now ░░░░░░░░ a little bit more ░░░░░░░░ a year and a ░░░░░░░░ or so and the ░░░░░░░░ is driving uh coming ░░░░░░░░ with the car with ░░░░░░░░ corvette and I said ░░░░░░░░ Mr you re a ░░░░░░░░ car this is why ░░░░░░░░ m working my ass ░░░░░░░░ I said how many ░░░░░░░░ do you train every ░░░░░░░░ he says 16 people ░░░░░░░░ day I said you ░░░░░░░░ working 16 hours a ░░░░░░░░ says yes 16 hours ░░░░░░░░ day I see how ░░░░░░░░ you charge per hour ░░░░░░░░ an hour now I ░░░░░░░░ t have to tell ░░░░░░░░ about the rest of ░░░░░░░░ story right this guy ░░░░░░░░ 1600 a day a ░░░░░░░░ he has been here ░░░░░░░░ a year and a ░░░░░░░░ a little bit more ░░░░░░░░ a year and a ░░░░░░░░ so there is opportunities ░░░░░░░░ you want if you ░░░░░░░░ willing to work hard ░░░░░░░░ one of my principles ░░░░░░░░ six principles of success ░░░░░░░░ work your ass off ░░░░░░░░ don t go and ░░░░░░░░ for shortcuts or anything ░░░░░░░░ is work work work ░░░░░░░░ day is 24 hours ░░░░░░░░ s go and put ░░░░░░░░ much work in this ░░░░░░░░ does it 16 hours ░░░░░░░░ day that s why ░░░░░░░░ s making 1600 a ░░░░░░░░ and this is why ░░░░░░░░ s driving a corvette ░░░░░░░░ s two other cars ░░░░░░░░ that he that he ░░░░░░░░ bragging about to me ░░░░░░░░ all this kind of ░░░░░░░░ so I just tell ░░░░░░░░ there is still the ░░░░░░░░ out there it this ░░░░░░░░ the only place where ░░░░░░░░ can do something like ░░░░░░░░ and this is why ░░░░░░░░ say the people I ░░░░░░░░ we are the best ░░░░░░░░ key thing now is ░░░░░░░░ do we stay as ░░░░░░░░ uh internationally competitive because ░░░░░░░░ change all the time ░░░░░░░░ know there is uh ░░░░░░░░ are now in the ░░░░░░░░ in The National stage ░░░░░░░░ then an international competition ░░░░░░░░ used to be just ░░░░░░░░ but now it s ░░░░░░░░ world kind of economy ░░░░░░░░ we got to be ░░░░░░░░ about that and there ░░░░░░░░ certain things that we ░░░░░░░░ to do to stay ░░░░░░░░ internationally and this is ░░░░░░░░ I say it is ░░░░░░░░ important for Democrats and ░░░░░░░░ to come together in ░░░░░░░░ and to start working ░░░░░░░░ those kind of issues ░░░░░░░░ the other side if ░░░░░░░░ s China or if ░░░░░░░░ s India or any ░░░░░░░░ those other countries they ░░░░░░░░ not asleep they move ░░░░░░░░ very aggressively in the ░░░░░░░░ thing we have to ░░░░░░░░ it in order to ░░░░░░░░ competitive and lastly before ░░░░░░░░ end because I don ░░░░░░░░ know how to top ░░░░░░░░ words of encouragement Alex ░░░░░░░░ final words from you ░░░░░░░░ think for me it ░░░░░░░░ it s like I ░░░░░░░░ a couple of times ░░░░░░░░ it s about the ░░░░░░░░ future and how I ░░░░░░░░ for for me personally ░░░░░░░░ how I can continue ░░░░░░░░ contribute and give back ░░░░░░░░ whether it s national ░░░░░░░░ advocating for public service ░░░░░░░░ for accountability uh to ░░░░░░░░ this country stronger and ░░░░░░░░ in that in in ░░░░░░░░ pursuits also improving my ░░░░░░░░ I guess uh improving ░░░░░░░░ making my uh making ░░░░░░░░ more comfortable for my ░░░░░░░░ um that s that ░░░░░░░░ I guess what I ░░░░░░░░ focused on well you ░░░░░░░░ a lifetime ahead of ░░░░░░░░ for your next chapter
