Elizabeth Warren: The GOP’s ‘Political Games’ Over Unemployment Benefits Must Stop

WARREN You know I ░░░░░░░░ this is still very ░░░░░░░░ This is the moment ░░░░░░░░ we really need to ░░░░░░░░ fighting back and show ░░░░░░░░ Republicans it s not ░░░░░░░░ to work to continue ░░░░░░░░ obstruct obstruct obstruct This ░░░░░░░░ on unemployment insurance is ░░░░░░░░ not hard We need ░░░░░░░░ extend unemployment insurance we ░░░░░░░░ done this many times ░░░░░░░░ the past we did ░░░░░░░░ during the Bush administration ░░░░░░░░ unemployment gets too high ░░░░░░░░ do it for those ░░░░░░░░ need it most The ░░░░░░░░ proposed this the Republicans ░░░░░░░░ oh yeah we want ░░░░░░░░ do this But you ░░░░░░░░ to pay for it ░░░░░░░░ we never needed pay ░░░░░░░░ in the past but ░░░░░░░░ sat down we came ░░░░░░░░ with a way to ░░░░░░░░ for it They came ░░░░░░░░ and said oh well ░░░░░░░░ actually we don t ░░░░░░░░ that we want to ░░░░░░░░ some more amendments we ░░░░░░░░ to change this we ░░░░░░░░ to change that Are ░░░░░░░░ kidding me We have ░░░░░░░░ out there who are ░░░░░░░░ We have people out ░░░░░░░░ who have worked all ░░░░░░░░ lives who played by ░░░░░░░░ rules and now they ░░░░░░░░ knocked out during a ░░░░░░░░ economic downturn They can ░░░░░░░░ get back to a ░░░░░░░░ They re applying they ░░░░░░░░ working for it And ░░░░░░░░ of the sudden the ░░░░░░░░ are saying just cut ░░░░░░░░ off Just leave them ░░░░░░░░ nothing WAGNER And that ░░░░░░░░ precisely the point I ░░░░░░░░ I mean it s ░░░░░░░░ a mystery that 1 ░░░░░░░░ million Americans are hurting ░░░░░░░░ s not a mystery ░░░░░░░░ unemployment assistance has a ░░░░░░░░ effect on the economy ░░░░░░░░ say that it does ░░░░░░░░ when you reach this ░░░░░░░░ with Republicans and they ░░░░░░░░ down and they back ░░░░░░░░ and there s a ░░░░░░░░ cause I mean what ░░░░░░░░ you say to your ░░░░░░░░ in the upper chamber ░░░░░░░░ there a palpable sense ░░░░░░░░ anger today given what ░░░░░░░░ transpired in the last ░░░░░░░░ hours WARREN You know ░░░░░░░░ think there s just ░░░░░░░░ enormous frustration and really ░░░░░░░░ a sense of being ░░░░░░░░ It s the only ░░░░░░░░ I know You really ░░░░░░░░ to look at the ░░░░░░░░ on the other side ░░░░░░░░ say you re willing ░░░░░░░░ do this over politics ░░░░░░░░ re really willing to ░░░░░░░░ these people off to ░░░░░░░░ them with no money ░░░░░░░░ put food on the ░░░░░░░░ to keep a roof ░░░░░░░░ their heads to take ░░░░░░░░ of their children And ░░░░░░░░ now the Republicans are ░░░░░░░░ caught in playing political ░░░░░░░░ at every single turn ░░░░░░░░ making sure that everything ░░░░░░░░ president does to try ░░░░░░░░ get the economy back ░░░░░░░░ track everything we all ░░░░░░░░ to try to support ░░░░░░░░ working families gets blocked ░░░░░░░░ the Republicans You know ░░░░░░░░ got to tell you ░░░░░░░░ is partly about the ░░░░░░░░ game that is we ░░░░░░░░ to talk to each ░░░░░░░░ Democrats to Democrats and ░░░░░░░░ the isle to Republicans ░░░░░░░░ this is about all ░░░░░░░░ America This is about ░░░░░░░░ saying to the Republican ░░░░░░░░ you can t keep ░░░░░░░░ everything that moves this ░░░░░░░░ forward This has to ░░░░░░░░
